It literally came down to the wire, game 7. Mariners need only a few tweaks but solid pitching core. As a lifelong Jays fan, we knew the M's were a serious competitor and it could've gone either way

If Jays had lost to the Yankees, I would have been all in on the Mariners. As for the series, I was biting my nails every time J. Rod, Raleigh, Naylor or Polanco came to bat (well… less so Polanco as the series went on). Unfortunately, the M's starters didn't bring quite the same stuff to the post-season.
After the Jays dropped the first two at home, I thought they needed to win all three in Seattle to have a chance. I'm glad I was wrong, but I don't think it was possible for this series to be any closer. This game seven was absolutely in the balance up until that last wlswing by J. Rod, and who knows what would have happened if he had taken the walk and brought Raleigh to the plate against Hoffman, who has given up some heartbreaker homers this year!
That M's franchise and fanbase deserves some post-season glory. I've been a Jays fan since I was 7 in 1980 and I'll never root against them of course. But if the Jays are out of it, the Mariners are the Cinderella story I'd like to see. I thought that back the Griffey/Ichiro days that they were going to do something special, but they are so snakebit…

Great season but man I’d have rather have been swept. Instead we fall under the 11% of teams who’ve blown a 2-0 road lead in the LCS… such a mariner thing to do. All because of yet another late game three run homer by an Astro. 🤮🤮
Don't feel for the organization, they choked. Feel for the fan base that got let down again. The Mariners blew it plain and simple.
When the M's were up 2-0, there was a talk of sweep. When they were up 3-2, there was a talk of "one more win and the WS." But, I was never comfortable. When Woo issued a leadoff walk in the 7th in Game 7, I had a horrible hunch. Just saying.
