  1. The only way Shedeur succeeds in the NFL is if he magically gets to play with the cowboys 95 o-line

  2. My cat just came home from having surgery and I think even he’s not on as many drugs as whoever wrote this

  3. Ah yes, the guy who all the good teams passed on through 5 rounds, who was ultimately drafted by one of the team most notorious for not being able to identify QB talent (Browns), and for whom even that bad team, after seeing him up close, were so under whelmed they had him 5th on their QB depth chart at one point, and still hasn’t seen a snap at this level, that’s the guy we should be targetting.

Don’t get me wrong, ANY QB coming out of college COULD be the answer, they’re schroedingers cat, a potential franchise QB until proven other wise, but its hilarious to me all the people who are like “Man those good teams who have a track record of being able to identify a quality QB didn’t think he was good enough to even spend a 4th round pick on, now I want him even more!”

  4. That should be:

    1. Trade Kyler
    2. Trade for Shedeur Sanders
    3. Watch Shedeur take a series of boneheaded, back-breaking sacks
    4. Experience regret
    5. Wonder if you can get Kyler back
    6. Sign Russell Wilson to one-year contract
    7. Realize you just dug the hole deeper
    8. Create a sock-puppet social account; tweet out that it was all Bidwell’s fault

  5. Yes because this franchise isn’t enough of a laughing stock, let’s trade for the guy that did an interview by moving his mouth in silence. If this dude is in the league longer than 5 years it’s because of his father and nothing else

  6. Sam is coming out this year. Love Tyson but Cards need more than WR help. Points 1 and 3 are solid.

  7. unironically drafting Leavitt to replace Kyler would result in more than half the fanbase being happy

  8. if you could find a buyer for Kyler, which I doubt, this isn’t a horrible plan. Apart from the Shedeur bit, which is seriously absurd. I can’t think of a more overrated prospect in the entire NFL than Shedeur. There’s a reason the Browns are starting Taylor Gabriel over him.

But the overall point is valid. The idea of trading for some talented young kid and trying to develop them behind Brissett, IDK, maybe Anthony Richardson, maybe Joe Milton III, maybe some 3rd round draft pick… the concept is sound, just make a good call on who to take a chance on.

I think we’ve reached the point where you need to look the facts right in the face and admit that Kyler isn’t leading this team anywhere. His fault, not his fault, doesn’t matter. Doesn’t change the reality, and the sooner you adapt to the reality, the better.

The only thing I’d say, is that that’s too long to wait to draft a QB behind Brissett. You CAN both have a project and a prospect both behind a bridge guy. But Brissett is absolutely not more than a bridge guy He’s not a long term solution, even the most ardent Brissett fanboy will admit that. His value is as a low cost guy who can play average-ish QB while the QBOTF develops behind him. Once you dismiss the absurdity of counting on Shedeur to do anything at all, the rest of the plan is a fairly conventional plan to try to shorten a rebuild.

The Brissett/Tyrod/Fitzmagic class of quarterbacks serve a purpose, they’re just about good enough to give you meaningful data when assessing the other offensive positions. They provide you information you wouldn’t get if you threw an rookie #1 pick out there, and they’ll show you where your weaknesses are. For example, Brissett has showed you the weakness of your offensive line, that it wasn’t just a Kyler problem. That’s useful information.

  9. I mean I’m not the biggest Shadeur fan but let’s say you don’t think Kyler is the guy. I don’t think it’d be that far fetched if we did:

    1.) trade Kyler

2.) Re-sign Brissett to a 1-2 year deal and bring in a failed 1st round QB to compete with him

3.) focus on rebuilding the O-line in the 2026 draft

4.) tank for a year with a presumably mediocre at best offense

5.) go all in on a QB in the 2027 class

Doing this would mean when we do bring in a potential franchise QB in 2027 we’ll have a better ecosystem for them to grow in rather than trading Kyler and immediately drafting a QB and letting them struggle with poor O-line play and waste their rookie year.

  10. There is zero chance Sam Leavitt stays in college another year for the 2027 draft. He probably won’t be in the Heisman talk this year like the pundits thought he would, but he has shown enough to get drafted in the first two rounds. He will enter the 2026 NFL draft for sure.

  11. Honestly take out the sanders part and it’s not a horrible plan

    Trade Kyler

    Bolster the lines

    Start Brisset for 2026

  12. If you ever find out what he’s smoking and/oe where he gets it lemme know. Always on the lookout for a new plug(I don’t smoke.)

  13. All in all it didn’t look terrible through the duration- The coach just didn’t put the right people where he needed them, clock management is a thing. Two QBs same result. It’s only the tailgating with friends bringing me back at this point
