there’s literally nothing that can justify this deployment

  1. Total TOI is just a better stat. EP40 plays PK and PP as well. I agree he wasn’t played enough but this is egregiously misleading.

  2. It’s actually incredible that a week ago 2 of these guys weren’t even in our lineup and a few days ago one of them was a healthy scratch. The one guy not included in either of those lists somehow turns out the least minutes lol

  3. Petey had about 7:30 minutes on Special Teams, Raty had 1:55, Sasson had 1:18, and Aman had 1 second. Shouldn’t be a huge surprise that Petey had less 5 vs 5 time if he was being used like 3 out of every 4 shifts on Special Teams.

  4. Guys I honestly think this was one of the games where they kind of started resting guys. 3 wins in what was it under 68 hours? These guys must be exhausted. Plus we don’t know how long our injured guys will be out so makes sense to watch how these lines run in real game play to see what they can tweak for Nashville. That game is much more important.

  5. Have we considered maybe Foote wanted to rest the big guys a little bit? The season is long. The boys are playing 4 games in 5-6 nights with probably minimal sleep. Maybe some approached him and needed their ice time adjusted.

  6. Win faceoffs, Foote would like nothing more than to play him, but if your getting dominated in the circle, your coming out on the fly.  They really need to see if a guy like kane can be a 50% guy on the draw, then that player can do what Miller did for pettey all those years.  I wouldn’t mind ratty taking draws with him in offensive zones, Ratty had a good wrister in junior as well

  7. Even factoring Special teams, Petey and Raty should not be playing close to the same number of minutes. The only reasonable explanation is that they’re intentionally resting the top line to prepare for the rest of the week.

  8. Petey is injured is my guess. Early on like game two on that non backcheck? No power in his stride. Lower back I’m thinking
