Former 49ers running back Frank Gore, the NFL’s No. 3 all-time leading rusher, headlines a group of 52 modern-era players that a screening committee advanced to the next phase in the Pro Football Hall of Fame process.
Gore is in his first year of eligibility for the Hall of Fame. The other first-time eligible players to advance are quarterbacks Drew Brees and Philip Rivers, running back LeSean McCoy, wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald, tight ends Jason Witten and Greg Olsen and center Maurkice Pouncey.
The next vote will include the entire 50-person selection committee and take the modern-era candidates down to 25 semifinalists for the Class of 2026.

BAH GAWD THAT’s FRANK GORE’s MUSIC.
Future HOFer.
I don’t care that he didn’t have a ton of absolute top tier years, his sustained success and consistency as well as raw stats should be enough for him. Idk if he will be a first ballot but, he deserves it 🫡
Top 3 in the NFL Rushing
I think he’s a lock to make it. Maybe not this year though
Crazy that he’s third all time
Feel like it’s going to be a big class
Frank “The Tank” Gore
An absolute travesty if the #3 rushing yards leader isn’t first ballot.
He’s definitely getting in HOF but not sure if he’s first ballot. I think Brees and Fitz are the only 100% first ballot types in that list.

the most Humble man in the NFL
* 5x pro bowl, 1x all pro
* 3rd all time rushing yards leader (16000 yards)
* First player in NFL history with 12 straight seasons with 1200+ yards from scrimmage
* 1 of 5 RBs ever to have nine 1000 yard rushing seasons
* Most games played by a running back ever
In a sport that prioritizes dependability and consistency, he’s easily one of the greatest to ever do it.
It would be an embarrassment if the number 3 rusher of all time isn’t in the HoF.
