Block Party | J.J. Moser

you know, now that you’ve had that experience working with Hedman, is there anything that really sticks out to you that maybe something you’ve picked up from from his game or something, you know, a tidbit that you that stuck with you at this point? There’s so many things you can learn from the work ethic to the little details and yeah, to the level of detail you’re you sometimes think, oh yeah, like I’m detailed. I’m detailed and then you see, wo, there’s different levels to that, too. And it’s not just once, it’s every single night. Bolts nation, welcome into another episode of the Bolts Block Party powered by our amazing friends at Highline IPA, Wolfie and Kobe. And we’ve got him back on the pod. One of the greatest live shows we had last season at the Cigar City Tap Room, but we bring him back here to kick off the season. The one and only, I like to call him LLC cool JJ Moser has joined us. You know why I call him that? No idea. You know, do you know what LL CoolJ stands for? No. No, I don’t. Ladies love Cool James. So why not Ladies Love Cool JJ? And I say that because I feel like How do you How do you feel about that, by the way? I don’t know where this is going. I just He’s got a plan with this one and and not only because he had a song called Mama Said Knock You Out, which I think is relevant, but there’s something going on right now with you and the other JJ on this team, Yonas Johanson. And I’m just saying I pay attention to our pregame uh production here, our Lightning Vision crew, where they show you guys coming into the building on game day and your outfits, the wardrobe, the look. I feel like you both have taken things up a notch with your fashion sense, with the hairstyles. I don’t know what’s going on, but there’s definitely been a a slight upgrade in both the JJs. And so I’m just curious, are you guys going to Headman’s Taylor now? Like what’s going on? Because the look has gone to the straight distinguished gentleman. I don’t know what he’s doing. I don’t know what he said. No, I actually wasn’t even aware of that really. It was actually not not even a thing. I just I just like to to dress nice and that’s what it is. But we we haven’t talked. I wasn’t even aware of that. But I’m just going back because when we had Jonas on uh on the podcast and I was going back to that whole episode, you remember he was kind of nervous cuz this is kind of out of his uh his comfort zone, but just looking at the fashion sense and I know he was coming off the ice and he’s comfortable, but like he especially like all of a sudden he looks like a supermodel. I don’t remember Yonas looking like that. And the hair I’m like and the suits. It’s just I I only beat him on the ice. We’re going to be the best looking team ever. You know, that’s that’s that’s the model. Have you upped the watch collection since we had you on this? He just came off the ice with the watch on. Throws the watch on. Did you Did you have that on? No. Okay. So, he put I actually don’t wear it to be on the ice. But which you were coming on today? Yeah. I leave it on as long as I can. And first thing coming off the ice, I like Okay. Put it back on. Also, to be fair, mostly for the purpose that I’m not losing it, right? I’m also very good at Oh, I forgot to put on my watch. Where is it? Loves his watches. Have you Have you gotten a few more since the I gotten a few few more over the summer. So, it’s slowly building. Watch collection slowly building. And I saw now you’re doing a jewelry uh endorsement. What’s that company like you’re working with now? What are they called? Um Jabberg or Jberg. Geberg. Okay. And what how did you link with those guys? Um there it’s like a similar story like with the watch brand. It’s just like a local a local jeweler that like started making that yeah a bracelet for man because he was like oh there’s not really jewelry for man really. Mhm. So so he just started that and yeah it’s kind of goes into the same thing. I just I just enjoy that like dressing and and having jewelry and and watches. So, it’s just I just enjoy it. So, we were like, “Oh, yeah. Let’s let’s just do something.” And and they’re they’re local. They’re a local company. So, I’m like, “Oh, yeah. That’s that’s a cool thing.” And cool to be involved. Cool to see what’s going on and and learn about different different industries and and what I don’t know issues they have or challenges they face and how they overcome that. So, it’s just it’s just very interesting. Are you involved in the design process, too, or you just I mean, is there like a JJ line coming maybe or in the future? No, no, it just started, but I would definitely be open for that. Okay. Throwing it out there, right? How’d they find you? Or just like just a local connection. You’re the local celebrity or or as as Greg said, you know, you’re uh you’re the supermodel of the team uh kind of thing. He really has influencer find you. No, like my hometown is not that big. So, so you kind of know each other and then they’re obviously like all the bigger companies. They’re supporting the the hometown team. So, you run into them. You know of them and then yeah, you just you just know them and then all of a sudden out of nowhere all it like it like gets to that. Actually, a funny story. That’s actually a funny story. Now I remember how it actually got into that because I played final of the World Championships. Yeah. And I got a little bit into a scrum. So a guy like rips my like the smaller my chains, he rips it off. Okay. So now my chain’s broken. So I’m asking my mom, “Hey, do you know like a goldsmith?” Is that what it’s called? Yeah. Do you know someone that can fix my fix my gold chain? So she says she knew the guy and he was originally a goldsmith and then got into that jewelry part. So she goes like, “Yeah, I know that guy. Just go to him.” And then I went to him to get my my chain fixed. And then he tells me about that bracelet and what they’re doing and like kind of we get into that and I’m like, “Oh yeah, hey, that would be cool.” And they’re like I’m like, “Oh, it would be cool to like buy one.” and they’re like, “Oh, it would be cool to have you as an ambassador or whatever.” And I’m like, “Oh, yeah, perfect fit.” And then that’s how it started. I just remember that stuff. That’s always how it goes. It’s conversations. It’s like who you know, it’s just, you know, in conversation with somebody and oh my god, by the way, this and you would be great for that. That’s it’s networking. That’s all it is. Just out of curiosity, like I I don’t know a ton about Switzerland. I know we kind of talked a little bit about it. Um, who who are like the celebrities in Switzerland? Like do you guys follow like Hollywood celebrities? Are hockey players mega celebrities there? I obviously everyone knows Roger Federer, football players like who’s who do people pay attention to there? Um yeah, for sure like Roger Federer tennis is up there. Um soccer is up there. Um skiers skiers are up there. Yeah. And then the thing is like in Switzerland like the culture and the people they enjoy to be very like down to earth or very like people are not going up to someone and asking for a picture, right? Okay. Like that’s that’s the how I would describe it. They’re just like, “Oh, like I know the guy, but like I’m too shy. I don’t want to like interrupt them.” Yeah. Interrupt and like be that kind of way. So they’re like they’re just like looking. So, it’s not that big of a thing. It’s not like, “Oh, these guys are famous and everyone just takes pictures with them.” But then obviously, you have so many like famous sports people like Formula 1, they all live in in a tax friendly place in Switzerland or in like or in Monaco, but those people are there, too. So, it’s kind of kind of a lot of different Yeah. like people. Yeah. But, so you I mean, it looked like you had a pretty remarkable summer. It looked like you visited some pretty exotic places. South Africa, Croatia, uh Greece. It looked like you were playing in a beach volleyball tournament. Obviously, the Bolts beginnings. We’ll get into that. But out of all the places that you visited um over the summer, which was your favorite? I know. And there was a lot. That’s an impossible question. I know. I know. I mean, you probably legal question. This You did amazing stuff in all of them. I mean, but like what was the creme de la creme for you out of all those trips this summer? Um, if I would have to pick one because you can’t really compare them, but what I would say is what struck me and what stayed with me is going to split Croatia and then the MKOS in Greece. in Greece and then you see kind of that fancy lifestyle with the big yachts and like all about money and all about that high society. Yeah. And then two days later I was in the bush in the Kruger National Park in South Africa which is basically the polar opposite. There’s like no money. There’s like nothing at all. Like a tribe. Yes. And there’s no cell phone connection. There’s nothing. Wow. And like in both places, people were equally as happy with basically all the money in the world and with no money at all. Remarkable. And that was the experience that that I took from basically from summer that really stayed with me and and struck me. Where were you more happy? Oh, I was same thing. Same thing. Equally as happy. Yeah. So, are those bucket list things like you just were like, I’ve always wanted to or you’ve been planning this for a while or um Well, the the first part Croatia and Greece was just I like to travel and I like to see different places and I like to see different cultures and I’m just very curious nature to to see yeah how how life is in different parts, how people are there and how they behave and whatever. And then the the lion track in in South Africa actually came with uh like my performance coach, mental coach, whatever you want to call it. He started going there and he realized for himself it it helps him out like a ton to just like slow down and and kind of like disconnect from from our fastpac lifestyle. Mhm. So he’s like, “Hey, I I found this cool thing and I think it could really be interesting for you, too. Why don’t you come and and check it out?” And then I was like instantly finding like a million reasons to like, “Oh, this is not the good year. I’ll do it next year or whatever.” Oh, like I don’t have time. You know, all the reasons. Just get get primal. Yeah. Yeah. But then I’m like, “No, like no, I just just do it.” And I was like, I just committed and and it was Yeah. I’m very very grateful and glad that I did it and just took that took that step because now you come back with so many interesting experiences and and lessons, different perspective. It’s good that you came back, you know. That’d be a tough call. Hey, uh Julian, uh I got uh I got a small chunk of my arm missing a lion attack here. No, no, that would not be good. Um Bolt’s Beginnings. Um we know that it’s coming later this season. Um we’ve we’ve kind of actually You know what? Let’s tee that up right now. Uh, for everybody watching the Bolts Block Party, we actually have a a clip of that with um you and your sister and your mom. Let’s take it back to the Moser household real quick. It’s like um as we were talking about like the birthdays that we like celebrated with like on one side having the preferred meal like favorite meals. Um, we also had like when we were kids, we got the like birthday crown which mom made herself. Yeah. Yeah. So, it was your birthday. You got the we got the crown and that was like very fun. You want to see it? You want to see it? Yeah. Right. Follow her. She has in the kitchen. One, two, three. And then we put it has it locked and loaded in the kitchen ready to go. Yeah. But I remember that you liked it to wear it. Oh yeah, for sure. Like how can you not like a birthday crown? pretty cool experience uh for you um to be able to go back home and experience uh the whole Lightning Vision crew following you around kind of getting the uh where it all began so to speak. So talk to us about that experience and was it humbling for you to now go back and revisit the path that got you to the NHL? Yeah, it was for sure interesting to to yeah go back and and see and re relive in some kind of way your your whole path and yeah where it started, how it went and now where we’re at. And then also what’s interesting is like hearing from different perspectives, right? hearing how my my parents, my mom experienced it, my sister, my my friends, my brother, because it’s coaches. Yeah, coaches. Because it’s things you don’t really like talk about. It’s not an organical conversation. Hey, tell me, you know, how you how you think about doing a Q&A with your parents. Exactly. Exactly. So, now hearing them talk about certain questions that I would never ask was was kind of interesting. What uh who loved the camera the most? You know, you I’ve watched a couple of these now and there’s always like one member of the family, you know, like I think it was it was Hegel’s grandma or something. Grandma’s brother. Somebody was just like just like they’re the star of the show. Did you have somebody like that you thought that was just like loving loving having a camera in their face? Um, from like a personality I would say it would be my brother, but in this case I would say it’s my sister because she speaks the best English. Yeah. Like my my brother would love it, but she had the biggest smile on her face the whole time. I don’t think she stopped smiling. Yeah. And the crown, is that something uh maybe mom puts on when when the birthday crown? Does she put that on when you score goals? I don’t know. But I just I just get the feeling the more we talk about it, we should rewive that. The birthday crown. Yeah, bring it in. Yeah. Maybe we should be in the locker room this year, you know, like the the crown game. Tell the boys. Tell the boys crown your birthday. I can’t wait for our uh our fans to see that episode. It will be out uh a little bit later on this season. I did also want to ask, again, going back to the summer stuff, what is the and I don’t know if I’m pronouncing this right, is it called the Arshwam? Arshwam. Arshwam. Arshwam. It’s a Bernie summer ritual. Explain what that is. And you did it and you shared it on social media. I like to refer to that to us Floridaidians. Uh the the only closest thing I could put that to would be tubing uh up in Wikiwatchi, but you’re actually on a tube. You were not on a tube. So explain to us what that is and and what you did. So the version with the tube or like a little bow exists too. That’s that’s what people do normally do and that’s called a bertla. Okay. But yeah, it basically is the the river has such a strong current, right, that you just like jump in and let yourself or let the current take you down the river and then you’re just floating there and and taking a a refreshing like swim basically. But like you don’t have to do anything and you just get pulled and then yeah some people do it with with a boat and then they like take the train. They go like an hour in one direction and then they go with their friends. They grab beers. They are on a little boat. They like tie the boats together and then they just let themsel or let the current take them down for like four hours. And that’s just what they do to to be social to to hang out. Go for a float. Go for a float. Exact coolers with the beer. The most important thing is you have two boats or two two floaters, you know, one with the beer and one to take a break in. So, and then some people also like use it to commute. I was going to say, do people do that to like Yeah, because you had a bag, bro. He had a waterproof bag. I was like, are his clothes in the waterproof bag? So, he’s like, this is an easier way for me to commute. Like, if you had a way to get from one, you know, part of the river, but your job is all the way down there. It seems like people just jump in the river, let it take them down, they have their waterproof bag with their clothes, they get out, they dry off, they go to work, and it’s like legit thing, right? Yeah. Or they probably mostly do it to come to go back home. But in in the morning, they take the train, they go to work, and then jump in the river to go home. Yeah. And then afterwards, they just put all their belongings, their clothes into the Yeah. waterproof bag. Like seal it up and they just jump in. Yeah. Throw the bag in there. You jump after the bag and then you let yourself float and then you have a talk. I mean, it’s refreshing, right? A tough day at work and then you just jump in the river and float home. It’s pretty awesome. Were there guys surfing in there, too? Cuz it felt like there was a dam at one of the areas and it looked like guys were just jumping in and surfing, too. Yeah, in certain areas they they start doing that where they create a wave and then they just serve on the river. They just jump in, try to get there. They have a obviously a the thing to hold. Yeah. Yeah. Like a a line a line and then they let go and then they’re just Yeah. And then they’re just serving on on that wave from from the current of the of the river. They got cool stuff over there, man. Speaking of cool stuff, something else I saw on cuz he’s very good on his socials. You attended the Federal Swing and Nerp in Garnerand. I don’t know if I even got that remotely correct, but what is that all about? Because again, just looking at that, it looked to be an absolutely massive event for the Swiss. I was trying to understand from some of the videos you posted, what exactly is going on? Because at one spot, it looked like these guys were like sumo wrestling and then there’s a a cow parade being like I’m like, what is happening with this event? So, can you explain what is that event? And it looked like the entire country was there. So, what is that? Oh, where do I start? I mean it seems like it’s a massive tradition. Yeah. Yeah. It it’s it’s a massive tradition. It’s basically a form of wrestling where you Yeah. You have certain like a specific pants. Yep. Where you can like hold you basically hold on back and then you hold on the side and then you basically wrestle and you have to put the other guy on his back, right? So basically when both his shoulders and most of his back are are in the on the ground that’s when you lose. And that’s just a a a farmer’s tradition I guess. Okay. Coming from all the way back. And it’s just so important in the culture that these guys would exactly be guys that would be like superstars. Superstars. There you go dude. It would be almost like in in India there’s like cricket and these guys are superstars but no one outside of cr of of India really knows what’s going on right so these guys would just be absolute superstars and sign like TV deals and and do everything but they wouldn’t even make a lot of money with the actual sport because it’s so traditional and they’re like oh you shouldn’t make money out of off of that whatever and then they have these like media deals where where they actually can make a living out of it but yeah they’re just they’re just superstars and then it’s just so important in the culture. So then you have a stadium with 50,000 people. Yeah. Just sold out. And it’s just it’s just it’s just the culture about it because you have 50,000 people and they sell glass bottles and no one even thinks, oh, this is going to be dangerous because there’s just so much respect and so much, hey, you behave. It’s part of the culture. There’s no one that tries to, right? It’s a celebration of tradition. And that’s exactly what it is. It’s like the whole country comes together to watch this event. Celebrate. How many pairs of these pants do you have? You know, where can we get these pants? And maybe we can have this, maybe we can bring this into uh, you know, a little bit of Swiss into Tampa and have these uh, these wrestling matches at Curtis 6 and Parker. I would love to. It would be awesome, man. Let’s bring a little of that here, right? Bring a little of that Swiss culture to Tampa. I can’t imagine like grabbing my arms around somebody trying to grab their pants and then try, let me get your shoulders down. Like, it was awesome, though. It was definitely awesome. You’re like, yeah, it’s cool. I love the fact. But again, I love the fact that you put that stuff on your socials because anybody that follows you, you know, you’re giving us a glimpse into that that culture. It gives us an an idea of like where you come from and the things that are important to your country, which I think is is remarkable. So, let’s let’s kind of switch gears a little bit here and get into some of the hockey stuff. But speaking of the summer stuff, I saw you and Hedi both were on the NHL uh and the NHLPA European media tour uh in Italy where we saw a few snippets of of some of the things that you you guys were doing, stacking pucks and doing trivia contests and all sorts of stuff. Take us through what what a day like that is like for you. I mean, is that like an all day thing where you’re literally going from station to station, interview to interview? And how do they choose you to do that? Is this just because you’re on the international circuit because the Olympics are coming? Explain us how how that whole thing came to be. I actually don’t know exactly how they how they choose, but they’re probably all right. There’s a couple of guys that that are close to the location where where it’s at and then they like ask if you want to do it. And if you’re like, “Oh, no. Absolutely not. I can’t do it.” Then they look for someone else. But but yeah, you’re like especially with the Olympics coming up, it’s it’s in Milan, it’s it’s close to to home. So you’re like, “Yeah, why not?” So So you get there, I think like just the day before and then you have a dinner there and then next day it starts whatever early in the morning at 8 basically. Yeah. And then you just have like fif 15 minute slots with every kind of media whatever newspaper whoever wants to ask you anything. Yep. Has like 15 15 minutes and then you just go like 15 minutes here and then knocks on the door, next one, next one, next one. Then you have like lunch break, half an hour, and then you like keep going until 3 3:30 4. It depends when you start. But yeah, it’s basically just like duck tuck duck and yeah, you do all the challenges and trivia and interviews and whatever. But yeah, it’s it’s pretty well organized. So it doesn’t feel like, oh, it’s it’s too much. which is like fast pace everything. Everyone like gets his things in. It’s going to seem it’s over. I mean it’s a lot. I mean you guys that’s not your world necessarily. So to be like a whole day in front of cameras the nice thing is is in the offseason you know during the season it’s tough to do like stuff like that like and like interviews like this like we are so appreciative because you guys got so much going on. But JJ you mentioned the Olympics um Switzerland you know you guys have been coming on strong on the world stage I feel like. Is it this is it is it your guys’ time? You know, are you guys going to meddal or what’s the goal for Switzerland uh coming into Italy here? Well, the goal is always to win. That’s that’s always the goal. I mean, yeah, we we have a good progression. We have good had good results the last couple of years internationally and then Olympics. It’s it’s very hard to to say because Yeah. When was the last time we had that? Right. 201 two cycles, right? So, Italy, you’re in the Olympic Village. You got a day off. What are you wanting? Like, what are you looking forward to catching the most? Like, what sport are you like, I want to go watch that? Because, yeah, you’re going to be there, right? So, if you can take in some of the sports. Yeah, that’s a that’s a good question. I don’t I don’t not even sure if we’re actually close to where all the other sports are. I I heard that we’re only arena. All right. Well, let’s see. Let’s say you got time check out any I would for sure go alpine skiing. Alpine skiing for sure. Alpine skiing or or even like the the freestyle like the snowboard cross. Oh, yeah. The ski cross. But for sure that’s what what I would be watching. Steam, brother. That’s what if we expanded it. What if uh someone’s sick? Team Switzerland needs someone to fill in. JJ Moer’s got to fill in on any winter Olympic sport. Oh, love it. Which one might you be able to hold your head above water a little bit? What even are all the Olympic sports? Oh, okay. So, you got curling, you’ve got cross country skiing, you got alpine skiing, ski jump, uh snowboarding, obviously slalom. Um there’s a ton. I mean, skating. I would have to go ski cross. Ski. I would have to go ski cross. Okay. Yeah. Just just skiing, but not super fast. More a little bit with the elbows maybe. I mean, do you ski I mean, do you get I mean, when in and obviously your your You’re not allowed to ask him that. Yeah. It’s against the contract, you know, to ask if he can if he’s gone skiing in his life. Well, when you were little ski growing up, there you go. I was say, was that big for you? I did ski. Yeah. Yeah. It’s a big thing. It’s in the culture. It’s got to be, right? Yeah. Yeah. You go with your family, you have skiing vacations. Was that Mikey Asamont? Mikey Asamont’s like sister who was a twin also, right? And she was like a professional skier. Yeah, I do recall that. I remember that. Uh switching back going back to the Olympics and you know you were talking about um you know the success obviously you guys won the worlds at the um the silver at the IIHF. How many of those guys are carrying over to the Olympic team? Is there is there a correlation there? Obviously you played on the the worlds and now you’re playing for the Olympics, but is there some continuity with the the team? Obviously haven’t selected all the the members of the team yet, but do you foresee that a lot of those guys will be playing on the Olympics as well? Yeah, that’s going to be one of our strength because we have that core built over the last couple of years where everyone wants to go back in in May and play if they have the chance to. So, yeah, we have that understanding of each other. We play with each other. We are going to have more of a core that’s used to each other. Yeah. Than other teams. So, that’s for sure one of our strength and and we have to we have to work with that. I mean, I feel that’s a benefit, right? you have continuity as they say. Good luck. There’s It’s going to be tough. There’s I mean, yeah, I mean, USA, Canada, we already know like a lot of your teammates, you know, are going to be playing. Is that Is there extra motivation to be playing against your teammates in a situation like that? Like, do you look forward to that knowing you’re going to go up against potentially a Braden Point or a Hagle, a Hegel? Like, I’m just curious like is there extra motivation? It’s always fun to to play against guys, you know, to play against your teammates, to have that have that challenge, have that already knowing like what they’re trying to do and kind of figure them out. All right. Can we can we keep recapping a little bit? Yes, absolutely. First full year as a Bolt last year. Let’s uh let’s reflect a little bit. How do you think it went? Uh I obviously you had the injury um you know halfway through the season and uh you know I’m sure that was tough but give us kind of a reflection on your first year in Tampa. My first year was pretty much dissected into three periods. Like first period you come here everything’s kind of new. You try to like get settled in and kind of get used to everything and then it goes pretty well and then you get the injury and then injury is the second period where you’re like just trying to get back trying a freak injury too. Yeah, it was it was weird but that’s that’s how it goes sometimes. So, you’re just trying to trying to come back and trying to get to the level that you were at and then even after you’re playing the first couple of games, you’re like still trying to like get into it and get your body used to that because you can’t really train and practice for the intensity you’re going to feel in the game, right? So, the first couple of games are always going to be a little bit all right. Your body has to get used to that. And then after that towards the playoffs, I felt like I was I was dialed in. Everything like came together and I I felt I felt great. And then at the end of the season to yeah, just do do my part and and help the team out. So the season ends, you’re thinking about obviously this season getting ready. What were the things that you were kind of putting in your mind like I need to get better at this or I need to improve on this to really kind of set myself up for for this season? Well, for sure that playing that right side, just being more comfortable there. Yeah, I mean that’s Yeah, it’s a thing that you have played on the right side in the past, but not like on a regular basis, not like consistently and you didn’t really have to be great at it. Is that something the staff comes to you and says, “Hey JJ, like we want you to just kind of maybe focus a little bit more on thinking about playing on the right side next year.” or is that something just personally you’re like I I know I want to be there. I know I want to be on Victor Hedman’s right side, you know, that’s I got to get really good at this. Is that kind of like a personal thing or is that team directed? Well, I guess it’s it’s both the same. Like it’s it’s a personal thing. Obviously, you want to you want to be there. You want to have as much ice time as you can and you want to you want to feel comfortable. You want to make plays. You want to be there and not like, you know, like rim it down every time. and then the other team picks it off and then you’re playing defense. So, it’s it’s all of that and then obviously from from the team too, they want you to be be able to play and make plays there too. And so, it’s it’s basically the same. But, yeah, for sure one thing that you want to that you did or I did work on in summer and was a a big part to just yeah, be just getting comfortable. Yeah. Make plays on that side. So, what was it like for you when you you knew you were coming here to and Kobe and I were talking about this earlier to know that, you know, you’re going to be working alongside, you know, the Norse Trophy winner, Victor Hedman, and and even guys like, you know, Ryan Mcdana coming in with their veteran leadership and their experience, but like were you nervous about that? Were you excited about that? And you know, now that you’ve had that experience working with Headman, is there anything that really sticks out to you that maybe something you’ve picked up from from his game or something, you know, a tidbit that you that stuck with you at this point? It was for sure both a little bit of nervousness and a lot of excitement cuz like you’re you’re a younger guy. You’re coming in, you see these guys that basically would have all the reason to be a little bit arrogant, a little bit cocky, whatever you call it, but you think like, oh, maybe like how are they going to be? That’s the nervousness. And then you come in and you’re like, you realize you have absolutely zero reason to be to even be a little bit nervous because they’re the most down to earth. They’re the Yeah. most humble guys, hardworking guys, and just like super respectful, wanna want to help you out, want to answer your questions, even the stupid questions that you have. So, they’re they’re just yeah, super easy to be around and and then you’re like, “Oh, this is this is awesome.” And there’s so many things you can learn from their work ethic to the little details and yeah, to the level of detail. You’re you sometimes think, “Oh, yeah, like I’m detailed. I’m detailed.” And then you see, whoa, there’s different levels to that, too. And it’s not just once, it’s every single night. And then just seeing that and then off the ice, like the way he carries himself, the way he talks to people, the way he respects everyone, just things like that. I feel like world class players, when you play with them, they just make the game easier for you, right? And that’s like that’s their thing. You still have to do your part, but they’re able to kind of put you in a position to succeed. Especially a great partner on defense. A great partner will just like they’ll put you in the right spot. Sure. And you just got to make sure then after that that you do your thing, right? So it’s it’s awesome. I’m excited to see the the chemistry that you guys build up that you guys continue from last year and you continue to this year. Looking forward to it. All right, so it is time JJ Moser for the highlight hot takes. These are just uh I guess you could say they’re just uh interesting questions we’re going to throw at you and we just want to get your perspective. I’m going to let Kobe start cuz he had a great one to start today’s high aliha takes. Kobe, shoot it out. Which one was it? It was the first one that you gave me earlier today. The the the Eurovision one. Yeah. So, one of the things I found when I was in Europe, this TV show, it’s just Euro Vision. You’re obviously familiar with it. It’s like the longest running television show. It’s like started in 1956. Every country sends like an artist. They sing a song and it’s like a big thing. Do you follow this at all or do you even, you know, is this something that interests you or not at all? Do you know what it is? Do you know what it is? I know what it is. You follow it just because it’s such a big thing and everyone talks about it, but I’m not watching it like die hard into it. All right. So my my hot take question was was who was the last artist representing Switzerland that won the Euro Vision? Do you know? I have to know. I went to school with him. Okay. Well, hold on. Let’s get his answer and then I want to hear your retort on that. Who was it? School with him. Yeah. Who? His name is Nemo. And what year was that? Do you remember? It was Well, he won it not the past year, the year before. Okay. So it’s more current. Wow. Going back. So he stumped you. But going back to Europe, he got me. I I I was like, he got you. I had one. I had 1988 and Selene Deion represented Canadian. I didn’t know. That’s even better though. He had his his classmate won Eurovision. He must be a huge celebrity back home then. Not really. Not that big a TV show. I’m making it bigger than No, no. He he is he was he was but he’s a very interesting character too and that’s also like the show gets more and more political and eclectic. Yeah. Okay. But yeah I that’s also a very well-known fact that Selen won it. Yeah. That’s good days. All right. Uh let’s go with this one. Highlight hot take. Who is the loudest chirper on the ice that you’ve faced and what might be the funniest thing that they’ve said to you? the loudest chirper. Yeah. Who’s just a chirper or who’s said something absolutely funny or that maybe have stuck with you? You just had a laugh. Absolutely funny. I can’t remember. I I can only think of obviously Brad Mond just that guy that likes to likes to chirp and likes to Does he throw good ones out there or they’re just lame just to try to get under your skin? They’re just lame. Of course they are. Of course they are. All right. You have you want to go with yours or you want to go with mine? I don’t even know. I’m trying to think of my best Brad Marshon like him chirping me. But it was like it was always something about my nose and I’d be like, “Dude, look at your nose.” Like seriously, the guy with maybe the only guy in the league with a bigger nose than me is tripping me about my nose. I’m just like come on. All right, I’ll I’ll finish it out here tonight. Um, if you had to pick a teammate to star in a buddy comedy with you, who would your co-star be and what would the vibe of the flick be? So, a comedy movie, who would be your co-star teammate? Um, who be my co-star? It would be it would probably be Littleberg. Okay. And what would the what would the movie be about? And and the the movie would be about all the things all the inside American jokes that Lily and I are just looking at each other and asking like what’s going on. Funny. I like we haven’t really talked to Lil. No, we haven’t got Lily on a shy one. Yeah, he is he’s lowkey funny. Okay. He’s still trying to get into the English language. Okay. But he is he is lowkey funny. But yeah, we would just that that would be the movie. He would just be sitting there all the American insider jokes and we would be like, “What? What’s going on?” Just looking lost and having no idea. She like his little American accent there. I like how th that was awesome. All right, listen. Uh we’re out of time. Uh JJ, but thank you again for sitting down with Kobe and I uh to kind of get the the lowdown on on where things are going and we wish you uh nothing but success. Great interview. It’s always good to have you on. Our fans love you. Like I said, LL Cool JJ, if you want to use that one, please do.
