Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs New Orleans Saints | Week 8 Game Preview

New Orleans Saints are home week eight. Win meter on one still. Round one versus the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Both clubs meeting up following a loss. Here’s fourth down and eight. End zone incomplete. Tampa Bay has lost two games to the Eagles and Lions. Both 5-2 teams. Saints ain’t that. They’re the type of teams others have rebounded against. And Baker needs to do a little work with Dennis Rodman. Season low 66 rate last week. only one touchdown, one pick season low, 4.6 yds per attempt, and he’s just not able to get enough on it. But that ball obviously wasn’t even close. Mayfield had 130 plus type rate games his previous two outings. So goes Baker. So goes the Bucks offense. Nine points versus Detroit, four for 16 on third down. Only one trip to Scott Hansen’s abode. Mayfield is going to air it out for a bua and he overthrew him again. previous four games, 25 plus points. And one more for you. Two or fewer sacks taken the previous four. Mayfield planted four times by the Lions. Mayfield backpedals. Can’t find anywhere to go except down. Saints defense has been putting up bricks this year, so you know, they’re a team you can rebound against. Gave up 26 points to Chicago, which is the Bears average basically, and what the Saints have given up for the year on average. So that all fit. cut back, hops into the end zone. The primary thing they struggled with was the run though, not the pass. Gave up 222 yds on the ground, 5.6 a run, two touchdowns. They played the Travis role and let Swift do whatever he wanted. Here’s Swift. Big hole. Swift on the run into the secondary and down. This thing on. Rashad White still filling in for Bucky Irving. Only 38 yds, 3.8 per attempt. Saints front Baker is staring at only sacked Caleb Williams once on 26 pass attempts, but the secondary behind them held Williams to 172 yards, no touchdowns. Picked him off for a nice 61 rate. Intercepted Quincy Riley, his first NFL interception. Their season rate dial tuned to 104.7, which is not good if you’re a secondary and it’s your season rating allowed. So played Caleb better than most. has to go fourth without Mike Evans. Real bummer, man. Maybe Chris Godwin comes back soon. He was out last week. Amecha Ibuka played though. Led the team with 12 targets, 58 yds. There he is. Ibuka with a big gain. Tez Johnson 58 yds and Baker’s touchdown 45 yds the week prior. Plenty of speed. Gets a block. Hops toward the end zone. Spinning touchdown. Kade Uton led them with 65 yds. Little shoulder fake. What a beautiful throw and catch as Kadeton makes the grab. Okay, Bucks defense versus New Orleans offense. Alvin Chimera likes Pina Coladas dancing in the rain too. I don’t know. Doesn’t want to be traded despite New Orleans 1 and6 record and having to play a part in an offense under 22 points in six of their last seven games after only coming up with 14 versus the Bears, one red zone trip, three for 10 on third down. Rattler under pressure. Ball is out. He fumbled and it’s recovered by Chicago. Spencer Rattler had two nice drives back to back that resulted in touchdown passes, but he’s coming in off a three INT game, a 66 rating as well. Just couldn’t connect enough on third down. On the roll, Rattler throws. It’s deflected and intercepted by Edmonds with his third interception thrown today. Tampa’s secondary that he gets battled Detroit. They gave up 241 yards to Jared Goff, but a low 90s rate, only one touchdown, one pick. He was on fire the previous two games, so it was a solid effort. Second down. Here is a pick. Intercepted and it’s Dean. Same can be said about their defense, holding Detroit to 24. That’s not super low, but three for 13 on third down. Only two trips allowed to the red zone. Considering their own offense’s play, it wasn’t a bad outing really. Golf. The ball’s out and Tampa Bay has it. Pass rush showed up too. Got to golf four times, beating a pretty stacked O line. 20 sacks for 2025. Top 10 good. Pressure and down goes golf. Taike Smith. And that is a big play by Todd Bull’s defense. Rattler took four sacks to a Bears pass rush that had struggled to make it home prior. It was a season high in sacks taken for Spencer. Fourman pressure in trouble in the third sack of the day. Buccaneers DBs gave up 80 plus yards and a touchdown to Aman Ross St. Brown. Gave up over 80 yardds through the air to Jir Gibbs and gave up a 78-yd TD run to him. 136 and two touchdowns given up to him for the night. Right up the gut. There goes Gibbs. Foot race. Chimera has had those kind of games, but it’s been a while. last week. Three catches, one yard, 11 rush attempts, 28 yards, 2.5 per carry. Not sure if he’s into yoga. Chris Olive, though with his second 98 yd game in a row. He’s got Olve out there. Drops it into a down. Jawan Johnson with his second best game of the season. 79 yardds for a dude that spent five games between 15 and 51. Here’s Rattler to the air. Wide open Jawan Johnson and Rasheed Shahed ponyied up for 40 yards. Rattler from his goal line finds an opening and finds Shahed. Bucks have taken Hudat five of the last six games they’ve played. Saints though up by 13 in the series. Buccaneers started their existence off with 26 straight losses. Snapped the streak when they played the Saints week 13 of the 1977 season. On December 11th, 1977, it finally happened. After 26 games worth awaiting, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers made all the right plays and celebrated the first victory in the team’s brief history. Down. Down.

  1. Ah yes, an always fierce divisional matchup…

After getting wrecked by Detroit on Monday night, I know the Bucs are looking to take out their rage and frustration against the Saints.

  2. Bucs fan here:

I think everybody forgot about the performance of the bucs offense. I actually think the Saints are going to win. Not confident picking my Bucs over Saints after how the offense did on Monday night, and this is a division game. Bye week is coming soon, so our team needs to stay healthy for 1 more game then head into bye week resting up our injuried and non-injured players.

  4. Great job GP Guy! I love the throwback footage at the end each week!! Yours is must watch video!!! I think the Bucs will take this one and go into the bye week 6-2. However this is the NFL and it won't be a blowout. The Saints will play with pride at home against their division rival and keep it close. I look for Baker to make a couple plays at the end and steal the victory.

  5. so when the saints be the team most recently they show the team beating them but not today? the Bucs beat the saints recently and still get a throwback win tribute, corny.
