Buffalo Bills vs Carolina Panthers | Week 8 Game Preview

Buffalo Bills head to Carolina this week after a week off to hopefully figure out how to snap a two-game losing streak. But what’s this? A Panthers team that’s won three of their last four. A three-game win bender to put them over the 500 mark. Oh, he’s got a wall of blockers and he runs past them. Hubard wasn’t waiting around. I know Chuba is cool, but this has to be Rico’s team right now. Dowel split the workload with Hubard in their win over New York. So didn’t get to see if he could drop two Bills three straight, but 17 carries at 4.6 per toke, 79 yards. He’s been a beast the last three weeks. He’s got a few blocks and Rico Dowel up to the 20 yd line at a first down. Panthers offense was cooled off though. Three games over 27 points, three under 14 points, 13 last week, 5 for 17 on third down, 1 for three in the red zone. So, the offense isn’t struting in by any means. Bryce Young has a lot of time and wide open and threw high. Buffalo’s defense has been a running back’s dream thus far, giving up 5.4 a carry to backs, the most generous to the position in all of the land. Can they catch him? They cannot. Touchdown Falcons 81 yds. Bills defense overall 22 points game allowed per game. That’s kind of mid, submid on third down, giving up 5.7 yards per play, which is also South Pole stuff. Catch made. London off and running. Can he get to the end zone? Time has run out. There’s a runner with short of a goal line. Their secondary is giving up a 92 rate. That’s basic. Their star corner Christian Benford has given up four touchdowns, a 121 rate, but not getting gashed as they’re holding quarterbacks to 6.6 yards per attempt. Safety Cole Bishop holding his targets to a sub60 rate. That tight man coverage. Benford knows that safety’s down inside. So, good job. Do they take on Bryce Young or Andy Dalton? Does it matter? And I only mean that from the perspective Dalton’s not a bad second guy relative to Young’s play so far. Young only 138 passing yards versus the Jets, only 5.5 yards per attempt, no picks, and a touchdown before leaving with a bum ankle. He’s a great manager of the game and I think that’s an important attribute for any quarterback. Dalton got in seven pass attempts, 60 yards over eight and a half per attempt. Only one pass catcher of no in their most recent win. XL nine catches, 92 yards and a touchdown. Best game of the season for him. Young, can he find anybody? Yes, he can. Touchdown Xavier. T-Mac just 33 yards. Didn’t have Hunter Renfro. Each guy sacked once, so two sacks taken, 32 pass attempts. Hasn’t been a major problem in a game yet. Bill’s pass rush 15 sacks. Healthy enough being they don’t blitz much. Joey Bosa two. Greg Rouso one and a half. AJ Epanessa one and a half. Ed Oliver two. Fenics from the pocket running out of time. It’ll be swarmed and slammed down by big Ed Oliver. So, how about Carolina’s ability to stop Buffalo’s once mighty offense. Josh Allen has had two subpar outings in 2025, one right before their week off. A 103 rate overall, over 230 yards per game, 11 touchdowns against four picks. Allen on the move now. Flips it to Davis. He’s got some space. Davis for the pylon. Dives. Touchdown. Bill’s offense also looking to put that Falcons game in the rear view mirror. They hit the buy off back-to- back games under 21 points. Their first four, they couldn’t help but put up 30. That’s who they think they are, but time to prove it. Allen wide open concade touchdown. Carolina’s defense took week seven off. Wait, my bad. They faced the Jets. Can only play who’s in front of you. Panthers play against the pass middle of the pack before facing Justin Fields and Terrod Taylor. Left the game with improved digits after picking off Taylor twice. held the duo to a sub40 rate. No touchdowns allowed under 175 yards. And reaching up, it’s intercepted by Horn again. They’d welcome another shopping trip like last week’s. Derek Brown, two of Carolina’s six bags. Six sacks for a team that had five all year, mind you. He’s in trouble and he’s going to be sacked. Fields brought down by partially Derek Brown. Allen has been sacked 12 times for a two per game average, which is standard, but his line and legs have made it tough to pressure him. 25% pressure rate is top five good. Allen on the move, chased, and is going to be dragged down inside the 20. Panthers DBs get one of those collective pass catching units. No clear number one, just depends on the game. Dalton Concaid leads them with 57 yards per contest, scored three times. End zone touchdown. Dalton Concincaid is there for six. Khalil Shakir leads their wide outs with 44 yardds per game. Breaks through the defense and stays on his feet. Shakir, what a play. Touchdown. Josh Palmer averaging 39 per. Deep guy Keon Coleman 39 per as well. Allen to Coleman again at 20 yds for Keon Coleman. Only Bejon and JT are doing more along the ground than James Cook. close to 90 rushing yards per game, five touchdowns, a very healthy five yards per carry. Driving forward and he’s getting going now. That’s a welcome sign for Buffalo as he rips off a dozen yards. Panthers didn’t get hurt by Bruce Hall, holding running backs to 4.3 a carry. That’s the league average. Stronger versus quarterbacks, holding them to just 3.4 per escape. Allen, of course, has to be accounted for. 42 rush yards per game, 5.5 per John. Josh steps up, stays on his feet, and picks up the first down. Allen still going. Bill’s Mafia has taken Keep Pounding six of eight tries. The last time Carolina beat him, 2017. I promise they’ll put on a better show than that one. In the home opener, the defense continued its dominance, holding an opponent out of the end zone for a second consecutive week. Pro Bowl kicker Graham Gnau provided all the Panthers points, connecting on three field goals in the win. The Panthers are going to go to 2 and 0. Gno finished the season with the NFL’s best field goal percentage and set a new franchise record.

  1. Panthers fan bias aside, I'm really unsure about this one. Bills coming off a bye gives them double the prep time, and after losing two before that they're gonna be hungry.

We just gotta KEEP POUNDING if we want to win this one! Go Panthers!

  2. I think the bills are a better over all team than us especially if Bryce is injured.

But styles make fights and if they are the worst run defense in the league then we’ve got a huge advantage there.

  3. McDermott is 8-0 after a bye, last year came out and beat a 10-0 Chiefs team after the bye… I believe it will be 9-0 after this weekend.

  4. I love both of these teams, and am excited to go to the game this weekend 🙂 Hoping for no injuries, a needed Bills win, and Panthers continue to build upon their growing success!

  5. with andy dalton at qb for us. Watch we will make it close and then dalton will throw 2 picks in the 4th quarter. 24-34 Bills probably. PANTHERS PLZ RUN THE BALL
