Okay let’s try this again, let’s ALL wish Khalil Greene a happy birthday to the man, the myth, the legend.
Best Padre SS this organization has had

  1. one of my favorite players of all-time, i love his story even if it didn’t end with a lot of traditional “success”

he battled with mental health issues before athletes were really allowed to be outspoken about it, and his refusal to chase the limelight afterwards showed he just played the game because he was skilled/loved it

i hope he’s doing well, and i see him as an inspiring story for anyone with anxiety (or mental health issues). still waiting for his card in The Show

  2. I’ll always remember his 9th inning grand slam against the Nationals. Mel Proctor just yelled “oh no!” In a hilarious way that I still remember today. Greene was amazing to watch when he was with the Padres.

  3. This guy was so much fun to watch!!! We wish him well and hope he is happy wherever he is!

    Happy Birthday Khalil!

  4. He was a great SS for us, but Fernando is the all time Padre leader in WAR at SS. Even if he is at RF for the rest of his career, I would pick him as the best SS we have ever had.

  5. Much better! I’m a Padres fan now because of Khalil Greene. He was such an electric, fun player

What I think of when I think of Khalil Greene ^

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY KHALIL!

  7. I’ll never forget his jumping spin throw. Found a clip of it a few years ago but have lost it since. Loved watching him, so did my mom 😆

    Happy birthday Khalil

  8. Fun fact: Xander has more fWAR than Khalil Greene *as a padre*. Xander in 3 years: 9.8. Greene in 6 years: 9.0.

  9. Super fun player to watch. I collected his cards/autographs a ton back in the day. I still have pretty much ALL of his rookie cards, some game used cleats, a game use bat… I’m a big fan!

  10. Best Clemson player in history. As a rare fan of both the Tiger and Padres, wish he could have played with Padres longer, but respect his desire for privacy.

  11. I think every little leaguer tried to making diving grabs up the middle like Khalil

  12. When I started taking my son to the games at Petco he was his fav player 🤎💛 miss watching this guy out there.

  13. He reminds me of Jeff Spicoli from “Fast Times at Ridgemont High”. In reality he is a Gentleman. Only played for love of game and didn’t like fame.

  14. He was a beast. Loved his style of play. I can only imagine what could have been. Hope he’s doing well.

  15. To this day, I am still not over the trade to St. Louis. Sorry. Love all of our superstars now for sure.
But, and with all due respect to the great Tony Gwynn, Khalil Greene remains my all-time favorite Padre.

  16. I loved Khalil. He was a reason to go to the games. I had season tickets then and I loved going to watch him. Hope he is well and the demons that chases him have stopped.
