The Detroit Red Wings are the hottest team in hockey right now. But who’s really responsible for this strong start? Following a terrible opening game and a public call out from their head coach, the Red Wings have won five games in a row. And the guy to truly thank for their success has been captain Dylan Larkin. Larkin has put up some tremendous numbers through the first six games of the season, including a monstrous four-point night against Edmonton to lead his team to victory. But with Dylan Larkin, it’s not all about the points. It’s what he does everywhere else on the ice that makes him so special. In these first six games, he has been a force for their offense, driving play during 5v5, impacting the power play, and most importantly, helping out on defense to open up the ice more for their defenseman to step up into offensive plays. The Wings are entering a very difficult road stretch on their schedule, but there is no denying that Dylan Larkin has been one of the most impactful players in the NHL this year.

The hurricanes were until Vegas. They were the only undefeated team averaging 5 points per game…

Hotest team? My AVS,& Vegas are the only teams without a real loss still homie. Not that it matters a ton right now,& I haven't hated Detroit in years-since ya went to the East. I actually like seeing them finally live up to their potential.
But ya can't be hotter than teams that haven't lost a game yet (OT losses are really ties. 1 team wins,& 1 team ties-they are losses in name only). I'll be working a huge early season game at our arena tomorrow though-Nordiques vs Whalers ..uh Avs-Canes rocking the old school jerseys!
