Travis Hunter’s Impressive Instincts at Wide Receiver | Jacksonville Jaguars
Welcome into the film room presented by Microsoft Co-Pilot Plus PC. Travis Hunter had his best game as a wide receiver yet. Passed 100 yards receiving and had his first career touchdown in London. And he also made some special plays on defense. Let’s jump right into the film. Now, wide receivers have to have great instincts. And watch as Travis crosses the formation and it becomes essentially a flat wide receiver for Trevor Lawrence. Once he makes the catch, this is where the instincts take over. You got a linebacker approaching and he’s got the angle. You see the little stutter there by Travis. Watch what it does to the linebacker. You see him set his feet right there. That’s all Travis needed to get by him. So what could have been for most wide receivers maybe a four or five yard gain turned into about a 13 14 yard gain for Travis. And here’s the catch that took Travis over a 100 yards receiving. And what I love about this is the awareness of where the route needs to be because Travis doesn’t get in a hurry to get vertical because the Rams are playing a two deep zone defense. And you see the safety right over the top of them. That safety is the guy that Travis does not want to run into. So you can see he’s not getting down the field with great speed. He’s kind of moderating his speed so that he stays in this open window area here for his quarterback. Great awareness for a young wide receiver. And this one takes him over 100 yards receiving. And Travis’s first touchdown. There he is. And it looks like the Rams are in cover two where you have two deep half safeties, but that’s not the coverage. The coverage is actually man. And so Travis has one guy to beat and he gets interfered with down the field. You see the defender grab him right there. Once he gets grabbed though, Travis continues to fight through it. He’s trying to bend the route to bend the route to get away from the defender and if it were a zone to get back into that area. He fights through the interference and gets space. And the ball’s thrown accurately and Travis having great hands, great body control, makes it look just effortless.
Jeff Lageman rolls the tape on WR/DB Travis Hunter’s best NFL outing yet in the Week 7 loss to the Rams. The rookie racked up 101 receiving yards and a touchdown. Check it out on Film Room, presented by Microsoft Copilot + PC.

Travis is a purist.
Need to use him at both positions to get his best.
Makes it look easy. We need to let this man play as much as he can on both sides of the ball. Just my opinion.
Let him play full time both ways.
He’s a necessity defensively and a luxury offensively.
There is NO reason he should miss a defensive snap.
Stop the nonsense.
Id love a 20 to 30 min show of this stuff
Only if yall actually used him
Love how the ball just snapped in his hands nice clean catch
To get the best out of Travis put him in more
The only thing bad about Travis' first touchdown is that it wasn't in DUUUUVAAAALLL!!!
He should have played defense last week. With him and Newsome/Lewis we would have a good cb group. If can only play 1.5 sides of the ball take the snaps off on offense. When he’s in dial him up. No one can just focus on him even if teams know it’s most likely going to him while BTJ is on the field too. He can have an effect on every defensive snap but if he’s not getting a look on offense he doesn’t. Play him.
Let’s the kid play both sides until he proves that he can’t. What is there to lose?
Hopefully we can get him involved more after the bye week.
That TD throw from Trevor was so good
Do these videos more often.
I was the 67th like
