Florida Panthers Morning Live – This Is The Team We Have…

Okay. Okay. Let’s go. I’m sorry I’m late. We had some tech issues here this morning. I created the stream like I normally do about 11 11:15 and I walked away and did my pack and ship and I come back to start the stream and then nothing had happened. It was weird because I so I had to delete the stream on StreamYard and come back and recreate a whole new one and it still didn’t it still didn’t take to Facebook. So, but we’re here. We’re here. It’s Monday. Where you want, how you doing, bud? Think you said Jaws we would get off this seven point start in the first 10 games. Yeah, I didn’t think it would be like this. So, but yeah, I might have I might have had a feeling a little bit about that. I have to go back and see what I said. But, hey, Captain Paul, how you doing, bud? Uh, Craig says, “Maybe the skit is due to Philly, Detroit, Devils, and Savers all being a little bit better than they were versus the Cats just sucking.” I mean, they’re definitely better. They’re certainly a little bit better. I think we just are accustomed to playing a certain way and and being able to get away with it some nights, you know what I mean? uh during the regular season and and we’re going to have to work harder. There’s no doubt like like Maurice said, like we’ve been saying, these are the guys. Sean says, “Any find anyone finds some cab space.” No, no, these are the guys. Real says, “Panthers slumping. Dolphins aren’t firing anyone yet. FSU is too poor to fire our coach this weekend. Sucked.” Uh yeah, don’t get me started about the Dolphins, man. How I mean I I don’t get me started about the Dolphins. That’s all I can say. So, but now when you look at the uh when you look at the NHL standings, I mean, it’s a little bit it’s a little bit backwards, right? Anyone know how to prevent our team from getting any more injuries? Yeah. put them all on IR and uh call up a bunch of kids from the AHL and let the rest of our guys continue to rest. So, I mean, everybody who had the uh Wings Canadians on the top of the division, raise your hand. Now, I’ve been consistently saying I thought Montreal could win the division, but didn’t see Detroit starting off playing so well, and they have. and um you know lease lost her last game. Tonight’s or tomorrow’s game against Boston, obviously that’s going to be interesting. That that’s going to be a good point to see. Is Boston really any better? Are we really this bad? What the hell is going on? And then you got the Lightning in last place, which mean it’s early. It’s early. We haven’t even played 10 games yet. Penguins continue to at least be somewhat decent, right? You know, and uh over in the West, my god, Calgary, my god, one and five, they’ve got 11 goals in six games, which is very eerily similar to the Panthers having 15 goals in 11 games. At least we got 15. Um, Calgary, they’re just bad on both ends of the I mean 11 goals in six games and allow 25 goals in six games. I mean, that’s is the worst than the Sharks. So, it’s a it’s a interesting start. Yeah. You think Marian was frustrated for his part part of the Buffalo tantrum? I haven’t heard anything yet. Sus says no update until today, which would be Monday, right? So it says first line with Bennett and Samuskevich. Second line Lucy Marsh Lundelle. So then the third line would be what the hell would the third the third line would then be uh but Calgary has hubedo, right? Silva says Bench Reintheart and Swaggy. Yeah. I mean, nobody’s playing well that I can’t think of anybody who’s other than Lendell. That’s I’m thinking of the guys that have been here for all three runs. Yeah, I saw that. Neil Vincent says, “Am I trying to be a Homer Simpson of hockey? This cannot be your real voice.” I don’t understand, Vincent. I don’t understand. Well, we’re not going to bring up any kids. We know that, you know. Um, these are the guys that they’re they’re just going to have to find ways to to pull on to pull some energy together. You just can’t count on Marshand and and Sam Muskevich to continuously be the only energy on the ice. So, hey Craig. So, we got hopefully uh hopefully Miko is okay. Like we got issues on that bottom pair as it is. Bolinskus is not Bolinskus looked goodish the first. He looks like he’s worked on his skating, but he’s just been an absolute turnover machine. So, I don’t I I wonder if we’re going to get the chance to see this kid that we picked up from Ottawa. Supposedly, he’s very physical, which we could use some physicality, right? Silva says, “I know these are the guys, but these can’t be the guys. I understand, but these are the guys.” Uh I don’t think Colin in terms of yours I don’t think we can really judge them. I mean coming in it’s 31 to6 the the team had has my opinion clearly quit on either Tua or McDaniel or both. Vincent as I was saying that all through the last year find the way to unload Rhy that was a real blunder by ZTO we don’t have a pure goal scorer right oh the homer voice I get it okay gotcha gotcha gotcha well I mean these are the guys, they all got no moves. We won two cups. It just shows you the importance of Barkov and Kachchuck that this, you know, hey Jason, there’s there’s just not a lot else that we’re going to be able to do. There’s there’s no uh there’s no magical line combination that’s going to be like, “Oh, that’s it.” Other than London and Marian, which we know they belong together. Colin. Yeah. No, I just I just don’t think there was enough to judge him by in that. And I mean, he made the one nice throw, right? Certainly, if you just look at that one throw, there’s no way Tua would have made that throw because he would he would have just chucked it to whoever, wherever because he was fixing to get hit. So, I wouldn’t mind seeing him get starts, but I just don’t know what he’s going to be able to pull off with no Tyreek and and how this offense is terrible. Kate says, “Most of these guys did go to three straight cup finals.” And and don’t forget don’t forget not only is it three straight cups, but the um the first year that first regular season where we had Maurice, we were beating the crap out of our body, especially the second half of the year trying to make the playoffs. And you know, in in that playoff run as well, and that’s what cost us against Vegas. I mean, we were just beating the crap out of teams hit. I mean, Kachchuck was a completely different player before the the the sternum and and some of these other guys were just running around. It was we were being so so physical. And as we’ve improved and won cups, they’ve learned that they don’t need to just run around the ice just hitting everything that moves. But yeah, the physicality, remember Vhagi was very physical during the playoffs. I mean, these guys definitely seemed last year to have the intent of coasting through the regular season, getting to the playoffs, turning it on, which is what they did, and it worked. But without Bararkov and without Kachchuck, I don’t know we’re going to have the luxury to do that. Okay, so good. Verhagi is okay. I mean, Ric is okay. All right, that’s good. Jason says, “Cats better pick it up. I love the two cups that this is unexcusable by backto-back cup champs. We need to start playing with a little more pride. Remember who we are. Oilers don’t have four L’s.” I’m curious. I’m curious. I want to check on something and then I want to get to what Neil and Vincent said. Um I want to see just just for history just for let’s see so Tampa won the cup in 1920 and 2021 then they lost the Stanley Cup. So the first year I’m going to 2223. I don’t know what this is going to look like. I’m just guessing. So I’m going to the Tampa Bay 2223 season. This is the year after they’d been to three straight cups and I want to see what the schedule and results were to start the season. Um, [Laughter] they started the season three and four and then won three straight. I’m not making this up. I should have shared the screen, but here we go. This is how Tampa started their f their season after making it to three straight cups. Loss, win, loss, loss, win, win. Wait a minute. Yeah. And a loss. So they started off three and four. Does that sound familiar? They lost to the Penguins. They lost to the Flyers. They lost to the Rangers. And they lost to the Kings. H. Now, of course, that team didn’t make it out of the first round of the playoffs, but in terms of a team that had just been to three straight cup finals, there it is. There it is. Neil says, “Maurice needs to keep the Lundell line from the playoffs last year and set the other lines. Leave them for a while.” Yeah, I I agree about just leaving it at this point. I I I agree. I would just Lundell, Lucina and Marian, Bennett, Verhagy, Reinhardt, and Boquist with Rodriguez and Samvich. I would just leave those. Now, I think what happens is throughout the game when we start needing a little bit of energy, he wants to move Samuskevich up, which did work last year. So, if you wanted to put Sam Muskevich with Bennett and move Rahee down, okay, I don’t mind that so much. But the London and Marian line breaking that up just is not has not worked. And I don’t understand why he’s continuing to do it. Vincent says, “So, here’s the thing. From time to time, we actually think coaching is about magical combinations until it isn’t. But let’s be real. All Maurice did this year, any of us could do what gives.” He’s just when there’s when there’s a problem that has no answer with Barkov Kachchuck being out, we can we can maneuver pieces and all of that, but with Barkoff out, it just destroys the flow of the team. It destroys the structure of the team because Bennett’s certainly defensively not a one seed and Lindell offensively is not really a one seat. Not at this point in his career. So there’s there’s there’s a hole there. And so what Maurice I think originally attempted to do was think all right you know Lundelle and Barkoff will cross themselves out and as best they can and then you know he created in theory I understand what he’s trying to do especially with like Rodriguez Samus boquished as a line you figure okay let’s use their speed um Vquist is not a big goal scorer. Rodriguez tends to feed off of other players. Even though he is a he is a good hockey player, he’s when he plays with other top players, that’s what he feeds off of and does well. And Sam Muskevich is a secondyear kid and and and yeah, he got 15 goals last year, but most of that was with Bennett on that second line. And I just I just don’t know. There’s no answer that’s going to recreate what we have with with Barkov. He’s going to have to reinvent some of the things that we do and find ways to get the puck in the back of the net. And maybe, excuse me, you might have to start thinking about being a little bit more aggressive using the D. and and maybe taking some point, you know, shots from the point and getting traffic in front of the net and trying to get some deflections. You know, we’re we’re used to generating so much offense off the forche that it just seems like when there’s no forche, we’re just not even that there’s no other way that we even attempt to create offense. So, Maurice has got to coach this year. He’s not just going to be like he used to do where all the room coaches itself. He’s he’s he’s going to have to come up with some different ways and and a little bit of some, you know, change in strategy because the structure of the team and the way that we’re used to running it, you can’t run it with the personnel we have, right? You just can’t. You know, a night here, a night there, you can get away with it. Barkov’s sick, he’s out for three days, whatever. But this is the whole regular season. Barov’s at least out the whole regular season. I think we all can pretty much agree that. So, you know, you’re going to have to make some adjustments in what you do as a coach, Maurice, because you don’t have the players. You don’t have the players to do what we’ve been doing. Yeah, Colin. I I I know Ross is just Ross is useless. Ross is now becoming more of the problem than anything else. Silva says, “Also, you think in a in a season where the Colts Pats brought right.” Yeah, I know, man. Hey, Die Hard Red Wings. Yeah, the Wings are in first freaking place, you know, and now we’re used to the Oilers kind of starting off slow, right? We’re kind of used to that, but still, I mean, Detroit schedule. Detroit is 5- one. They’ve allowed 14 goals in six games. and their schedule has been the Canadians, the Leafs. The Leafs again, the Panthers, the Lightning, and the Oilers. Now, nobody would have blamed Detroit for starting off maybe even two and four. The Canadians, the Leafs twice, the Panthers, the Lightning, the Oilers. That is brutal. Now, sometimes good teams have a tendency to start the season a little bit slow. Unless you’re Colorado or Vegas, they just Colorado and Vegas don’t know anything about how to pace themselves. They go, “Oh, look, we’re 10 and0 again.” It’s like it’s October. Save some of it. But Detroit now, now Detroit gets to what would be the easier part of their schedule. They’ve got the Sabres, the Islanders, the Blues, the Blues again. Then they got the Kings, Ducks, Sharks, the Knights. So, I mean, Detroit could go on a little bit of a heater there, but watch, you’ll know. Don’t don’t lose to Buffalo now. April Hogan Ghost Slayer says, “Good afternoon, Jaws. I enjoyed watching Marian get back at Dalene. He’s trying to pull that I’m a young unclean European CL. Yeah, Dene knew exactly what he was doing and it worked. It worked. But I I thought it was hysterical. Yeah, we’re still above the Oilers. Greg says, “Every team has energy early in the season playing the champs. They don’t have much to lose. These guys are okay. They may be playing tentatively trying to not get hurt, which looks bad and gets them hurt.” Yeah. So, Baragan thinks maybe there’s a maybe there’s an illness in the locker room. If that came out great, because we have seen them, we’ve talked about that. We’ve seen them look like this before when they’ve been sick. I just don’t think that’s what this is. I I I just I think they’re used to being able to play a certain, you know, they’re used to being able to get away with in those four games with Barkoff and Kachchuck, we at least get two, maybe three points, you know what I mean? Maybe we sneak one in in regulation. Maybe we get to overtime a couple of times. Like we’re we’re we get some points out of those games with Barkoff and Kachchuck. Vincent says, “What if Maurice forgot how to coach the team? He’s kind of in the thick of things and says, “This is our team, but he hasn’t adjusted to it and he grows his hair out. He’s losing.” Uh, Horvoka, I think, is that who you’re talking about, Strafasi. Horvoka, he’s like 66. Deadly Flames. What’s going on in Calgary? What in the hell is going on in Calgary? Now, speaking of Detroit’s schedule, I wonder what Calgaryy’s schedule has been. Cal I mean, Jesus, they’re they’re aborting the Sharks. They’re one and five, 11 goals in six games. The Flame schedule has been the Oilers, the Canucks, the Blues, the Knights, the Mammoth, and the Knights again. So, it don’t help that they’ve played their one winner is against Edmonton, but it don’t help that they’ve played Vegas twice. Vegas is doing what they always do. Vegas Vegas always starts the season like they’re going to be undefeated world champs and then they just find a way to blow it in the playoffs. Except unless they’re playing like Panthers. Um, you know, the Mammoth got the Flames three to one. Like the Flames have scored one goal in the last five games. One goal, two goals, two goals, one goal, one goal. You You ain’t going to win a whole lot of games like that. I don’t know, man. Silva says they could be sick. It’s not like Barkov hasn’t been around them, right? Yeah. The Sharks don’t even have a freaking win. I know, right? Zuma says, “I feel like this team collapsed when Sparkoff went down and we don’t have a leader to motivate the group. It’s like mentally we are broken and don’t know what to do.” So, I don’t know. I I can see how you would feel that way. I’ve I’ve I have wondered like I’ve said it after the Flyers game. I thought for sure the leadership on this team would have would have said, “Hey, look, we’re going to have to work harder. These are the things that we’re going to have to do. We’re on the road.” Like, who is who is making those, you know, who’s talking to the guys now without Barov and without Kachchuck? Um, Bennett, Marshy, Eblad. I mean, you would think those three guys would would would be enough to to not have a real leadership void. You would think, and Shafas, yeah, I agree with you. Just stick with the lines and build chemistry. Switching them around ain’t working. And the thing of it is is the last two, three games, um, It’s gotten worse as the game has gone on. It’s It’s gotten worse as the game has gone on. And And I think that that’s part of I think part of that is, you know, um the constant line changes. Mega Fish, you guys soften up the Bruins. Yeah, good job. Appreciate that. Although, you pissed them off. We’ll see that the the game Tuesday with Boston and Florida is like that’s going to be a game in its own little bubble world with Marian finally getting back to Boston. Um you would think you would think that the Panthers would make sure that we’re not going to let Marshy lose his return to Boston, but you know Boston might want to make sure that he does. Should be a good game. Craig says, “Yeah, Bob says, “F it. I’ll do it myself.” That’s about it, right? Silva says, “I’m pretty sure Biscus is the guy talking to the team.” Oh, yeah. I like the guy we got from the Senfas. Yeah, I wouldn’t mind. Kazuma says, “I feel like with all the injuries, the guys are playing at 50% as to not risk any more injuries.” like Reinhardt especially, but we saw this last year. We we saw this last year during the regular season, especially with Reinhardt where we were like, where where did he go? He looked he looked gassed now. He contributed and of course come the most important time of the year, right? I mean, so if that’s if that’s the case, if he’s consistently saving his best for the playoffs, that’s fine. But we got to get to the playoffs. And you know, the assumption I think you can see one thing from the start of this season, and that is that the assumption that it’s going to be Tampa, Florida, Toronto or Toronto, Florida, Tampa or whatever. the assumption that it’s going to be those top three. Uhuh. It’s you could have you could have Montreal, Detroit, Toronto as the top three and you know because I mean Tampa’s got their own freaking games over there. I mean they got their own issues over there. Hey, Wild. Yeah, Wild can’t score. I picked the Wild to miss the playoffs. So, that’s that’s on me. I picked I picked the Blues to make it and the Wild to miss it just based on my gut intuition, not really based on hockey, but there’s some bad defense being played by some of these teams, you know, there really is. It’s been has it has it just been me or does it seem like there’s been a few more goals? I haven’t seen a lot of two to ones. You know what I mean? I’m seeing a lot of a lot of 42s, 4 threes. Not seeing very many two to one games. I’m looking back. Flyers are wild were two to one. That was overtime. But it seems like almost every game somebody’s at least one if not both teams are getting four, you know, three, four goals, five goals, six goals. I wonder what’s going on there. Laro. Yeah, I I I seen that. I mean, Ross is just useless at this point. I I don’t even think we believe that he believes in Mike McDaniel. I just I just think he’s useless at this point. I if if anybody spends money to go to the Dolphin games at this point, I guess we get what we deserve. You know, do I think we still make the playoffs? I mean, I would think that 90%. Yeah. Silva says we’re missing an entire second pair and a first line to injury pretty much. Knights saved 38 of 39 shots against the Ducks. Damn. Ghoster says, “I honestly think Reinhardt changed his game from goalc scoring to defense first, which is why he was a silky finalist instead of a point producer. You need point producing Reinhardt and Swag. Everyone else play D. Somebody has to do it.” Yeah. Mike, I I know. I know. But you know, Mike, at some point there’s nothing to do with point to Ross. You know, Deadly Flame says, “The problem with my players is look like they don’t care against 6-1 against Vegas. If I is is Hubardo back yet? Because look, I’m not gonna I’m not going to dump on Hubo, right? I’m not going to dump on Hubo. Yeah, he he’s he’s the only one that got the goal against against Vegas. Well, I mean, I’ll say the same thing I said when the trade went down about Hubo. He’s a really good player that can be a piece, but if you’re expecting Hubo to be the guy that leads you anywhere, don’t be sadly disappointed. He’s just not that kind of guy. Yeah, the old Panther goalies always haunt us out Lion. I know, right? Shut out by Alex Lion. Unbelievable. But he’s not terrible, you know. Silva, I thought Mika is at practice. over me is a practice. Yeah. Hey, miserable. Hey, good game, man. What What are you going to do, right? You know, all these teams are a little bit better. They’re all a little bit better. Where’s the Lightning fans? What the hell is going on in Tampa? Yeah, it was Montabo last year too, Kade. Yeah. What? What? I need a Lightning fan to tell me what the hell’s going on in Tampa. So, Strafasi, what I’ll say about Petri is a lot of us thought Schmidt sucked, too, the first month. So, I’m I’m willing to give it time because Schmidt looked old and slow when he first got here last year, too. Now without Kulakov, you know. Yikes. I Binskus has been bad. Yeah. What’s going on in Tampa is a worse start than in Florida. That’s true. But what’s going on? Yeah, Montour would be nice right about now. That’s one thing that we’re not getting from the blue line at all is you’re not getting, you know, guys skating up to the blue line, taking shots. I mean, just we’re not getting anything. Petri Vinc says Petri is heavy and he drinks a lot of wine. A lot. Oh crap. Hey, look. Schmidt didn’t look like he was no skinny mini either at the beginning of last season. Schmidt always looked like he was like fixing to have a heart attack, but he was a good guy. We got the same haircut. Nahur got the game winner in overtime against the lease. I didn’t see that. Good for him. Good for him. Well, is uh since we got the practice lines, I guess we still got Bolinskus on the bottom pair. Why’ we pick this kid up from Ottawa? Oh, well, maybe it’s on the Maybe we’ll get him on the home stand. Dark Jedi says, “We don’t look like the Lightning when we want to make the playoffs, but good lord, this much losing is building up now, right?” I mean, the Lightning on defense have been They allowed 21 goals in six games. It’s not awful. The Senators have allowed 30 goals in six games. I mean, they had been allowing five goals a game and they’re they’re still allowing they allowed another five on Saturday to the Islanders of all teams. They allowed eight to What is going on in Ottawa, man? Was it Was it Omar? Geez, Omar’s numbers. Oh my god. Omar’s numbers don’t just hide the kids. Omar right now is a 399 with a 848 in five starts. He’s got five starts. He’s a 399 and then an 848. Wow. And I understand defense and and all of that. I grasp that. But holy hell in a hand basket. That is special. We broke all mark and then there then our team broke. Right. Tom says lightning demon Headman looks like he’s losing a stride. That’s not good. Headedman’s no young. No young. We talked about this over the summer. Hold on a second. We talked about this a little bit over the summer with Tampa Bay. Cooch is 32, Gensel’s 31, Gord is 33, Paul is 30, Hedman is 34, Mcdana is 36. You know, I mean, Hedman is making 8 million and he deserves it and he’s been a great defenseman, but that’s the same age as Dmitri Kulakov and then Mcdana at 36. Like, that’s that’s tough. And then the couple of highlights that I’ve seen, Radish looks awful. And so when you’re looking at Hedmond, Mcdana, Churnack, Moser, Radish, Lillberg, Crosier, when you’re looking, it’s like, well, if Hedman and Mcdana are not going to play well, you got I mean, they they and this is a situation that the Panthers may find themselves in at some point. Ruthless Sharky. I know, man. Come on. Come on. I I’m I’m good friends with Twisted Wristtor, who does Sharks videos. And when when when is San Jose’s when when is their first win? Who what’s their schedule? Come on. Let’s see. They play the Islanders tomorrow. Could would the Sharks be willing to lose one more game so that their first victory would be against the Rangers? I would enjoy that. It ain’t going to be against the Devils. I can tell you that. But I would enjoy the pissed-off chaos from Ranger fans if San Jose got their first regulation win against the Rangers. That’s only one more loss for the Sharks and then and then beat the Rangers. How about that? I like that idea. Vincent says, “Spring chickens in Anaheim, Chicago, Montreal, and Detroit showing a lot of passion.” Yep. What if the Sharks first win is against us? No. Come on now. Damn. We don’t play the Sharks until one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, 10. They’d have to lose 10 more games. They’d have to lose 10 more games. Real. Yeah. Maybe the Sharks can pull off the New York sweep. Yeah, that’s November 8th. No thanks. No, we can’t we can’t do that to Nick. That ain’t right. I mean, the Sharks have given up three, five. Oh, those are preseason. I’m like, wait, they beat the Knights. They’ve given up seven, five, six, and three. And they the opening day is when they lost to Vegas in overtime. That’s the best defense that they’ve had. Oh, no. They beat they lost to Pittsburgh 3 nothing. It’s just bad. Come on, guys. Hey, Frank. Trade everyone. Emperor King. I’m speechless on the Kings been playing lately. Jaws made it to overtime against the Canes then lost. Yep. Now the Kings, they’ll be okay. God dang the number of goals everybody. There’s so many goals being scored. The Kings I mean the Kings are supposed to be mainly defense. They’ve allowed 24 goals in six games. And now when you look at I mean it’s it’s early to be looking at playoffs, right? But the reality is is that none of these teams or nobody’s getting flushed down the toilet in the playoff. Although the Flames better watch out. The Flames do not have what it takes like the Oilers did a few years ago to come back from 10 points out. I mean, you can play yourself out of the playoff spot in October. It can be done. Just I mean, you’re you know, the Flames, a lot of people kind of expected them to be better. I predicted I I had them making the playoff and Dustin Wolf is sitting here at Oh my god. Dustin Wolf is has got Oh my, this is embarrass. He’s started five games. He’s got a 430 and a 854. Wow. Hey Bill, how you doing? Trade Bennett and Verhagy. Nice says I’m Fireborn. Nice says I’m happy with Mner with two goals. You think they woke up? Yeah, but V doesn’t v Vegas usually starts off Vegas is like um what football team? The Bills. Even though except for Vegas does have a cup, so I take that back. But if Vegas was only as good in the postseason as they are in the beginning of most of the regular seasons, they always start off like 20 and 0. Slight exaggeration, but you get my point. you guys, the Knights, I would say you need to learn to finish, but you beat my Panthers in the finals, so I can’t exactly say that. But let’s just say Vegas, I’m surprised, only has the one cup. I kind of feel like they’ve blown some opportunities over the years. You know, I think they were fixing to beat Ovetchkin and I think the league called it in and said, “No, no, no, no, no. We can’t have the expansion team beat Ovetchkin.” So, I think I think that I think there’s ever evidence um that sports is rigged. It’s it’s that Vegas just absolutely dog walked Washington in the first game of that series and then never won again. Hey, Armageddon. Um, Mike says, “I can’t Mike says, “I can’t remember the last time an entire nation came out to protest the team. Poor LA.” Oh, geez. Yeah. Or Sacramento. Either one. Soflo says, “The whole defense first style that they said they were going to focus on never made sense to me. We lose our best defensive forward and you want to focus more on defense. Let Reinhardt, Swaggy, and Bennett loose. Oh, we got to start scoring. Open it up. Ding, ding, ding, ding, ding. There. Exactly. It doesn’t make any sense. It doesn’t, you know. Now, on the other hand, do we want to wear Bob out with 35, you know, 35, 40 shots a game against? Maybe not. There’s got to be a happy medium to what we’re doing, right? We’ve scored two goals in the last three games. There’s definitely got to be a happy medium to to what we’re doing. And you know, if we’re going to play heavy on defense, but not due to heavy forch check. I agree. Soflo, it it’s not working. It’s not working. Frank says, “Man, I like Vegas. I might I might move there. Houses are cheap. City is growing in the Golden Knights Arena is first class. What’s the weather like there? I got to be near the I got to be near the water.” Bill says Sam should be scoring more goals because it’s a contract season. Well, last year was a contract season for him as well. Um I think when Kachchuck comes back now, as much as as much as I’ll say a lot of these problems are because Barkoff is gone, we don’t want to completely underestimate the effect of Kachchuck being gone. Now, we know he’s going to be back and I think we all feel like he’s going to be rested and ready to go, right? I mean, he played through that injury in the in the playoffs in the cups. So, I think we all can assume that we’re going to be getting back a good healthy rested version of Kachchuck, which at that point would give us Lindell, Lucy, and Marshian, Bennett, Kachchuck, Samkevich. Now, we know Bennett and Samuskevich did really, really well last year with Kachchuck. It was even better even though they didn’t get a lot of games together. Um, so that Kachchuck coming back will help solidify some things significantly. It’s not going to solve some of the problems that we have. Well, it’s not going to solve all of the problems we have, but it will solve a couple. Um because if you do that then if if you go Landelion and Marian Bennett Kachchuck Samuskevich then you’ve got Rodriguez with Reinhardt and Verhagi and what if you just put Reinhardt at center? Like what is the I I I know I heard early on when he came here that Reinhardt doesn’t like to play center but is he that bad at it? is he, you know, he’s not producing anything right now. So, that that’s one thing that we haven’t really tried at all that might just shake things up enough because we’ve got at least another two months, right, before Chucky come back. At least at least we we’ve got to at least play 500. Kade says, “They certainly blew the opportunity last playoffs when they chose to make Edmonton look better than they really were.” Yeah, that’s true. Kade Stofl reminds me of 23 when we barely made the eighth seed. We were playing playoff stalk in the regular season and we couldn’t score to save our lives. We were pretty much 500 the whole year. Right, Slo? I agree. Strafasi. Yeah, Terasoft looks solid. Sure. Dietri says, “I think Lendell needs to step up more than others. The comparisons to Barkoff were too favorable. I think Lendell is trying to do too much. Barkoff can go out there and focus on defense and get a goal here or there and know that the rest of the team because he’s there, the rest of the team is going to supply the offense.” Lundelle, I believe he’s under a lot of pressure, not just to make up for Barkov in terms of defense, but with Barkov and Kachchuck out, that’s, you know, that’s at least 40 50 goals over the course of the season most of the time. So, I don’t necessarily have a problem in how Lundell is playing. I think that he’s lost his massive advantage of being put up against lesser lines and I think he’s probably feeling the pressure a little bit too much. And Maurice is just like every every period it’s different lines. To me, that’s the biggest problem outside of their play is that Maurice isn’t just going just skate. Just go figure it out. Those are the lines. Figure it out. It’s been too much. too much mixing and matching. Argus says, “Who knows what you get from Nashville PR? Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose.” Yeah, Nashville. Well, Nashville is a the the fall the fall of Nashville will be studied because they were on the upward arc and they figured they’d add these veterans and then it’s just it’s just falling through the roof. Mythical says on the bright side, we’re going to have a healthy Chucky like we haven’t had in a long time. I agree. Real says, “I expect Chucky will still be off when he comes back.” I don’t know. I don’t know. I mean, we we won the cup. We won the cup with him on one leg, you know. And yeah, Mike saying Kachchuck is a serious spark club. Spark plug for the team. Yeah, you know, I mean, Barkoff is is a problem, but Barkoff and Kachchuck both out, it’s it’s it’s I mean, think around the league. If Tampa was without Coutroof and Gensel, who would expect them to be winning much? if if Edmonton was without, you know, McDavid and Heyman or Dry Cidle and Heyman or, you know, I don’t know about McDavid and Dry Cidle, but I don’t know if that’s a fair comparison, but close, right? I mean, think about any NHL team with, you know, with missing two of, if not their best players. Like especially the Tampa example, if they were out coo and and gensel or coohov and point, right? Like nobody would expect them to to be doing anything. Silva says, “I wouldn’t mind seeing the Panthers give Teras off a decent amount of games.” I agree. That’s what I’m hope I’m hoping for 48 and 34. That was the split that I was hoping for. Frost says, “I love Maurice, but he’s been off this year.” I think that I appreciate you, Dietri. Um, I think that I think Barkoff being out just right. You You look at Maurice’s position. He comes in, we get Kachchuck and he builds it up and he builds it up. You know, Maurice builds up the system and puts the system in and then Yeah. They’re just like, “We got this and we win the cup and we win the cup and then without Barkoff it’s like the system don’t work. You you know and and Maurice didn’t win all those cups before he came here because in order for the system to work his you have to have the right personnel. You you you know and so that’s what’s made it work.” and Barov just does so much for this this team that Maurice now I I kind of feel is struggling struggling a little bit. I think maybe he wanted to kind of look at things in the beginning and say, “Okay, can this team still do the same things?” Um, and as he finds out it’s not going to look the same, he’s just got to make I just feel like there’s some adjustments that he’s going to have to make. Nothing nothing major major but if if for nothing else it’s just just a little bit more in the fore get get Forsling and Eblad and Mika to come into the zone and just taking shots on net with with traffic in front. see if he can get some deflections, some rebounds with Tra. You know, you don’t have to have a heavy forche to get Marshand or Reinhardt or Rodriguez, you know, even Boquish. Getting those guys in front of the goalie, trying to cause some havoc, get some deflections. Like, we’re not doing any of the little things that you need to do to even get the dirty goals. Like, the the one dirty goal we got, dirtyish, right? Marian takes the shot, the rebound, and and Rodriguez was right there by the side of the net. They’re going to have to do some little things that they were not used to doing. It’s windy out there. Craig says, “Barkov playing the body is overlooked, too. He’s like a man versus boys.” Yeah. Yeah. You can’t believe we’re calling out Maurice. I mean, I just think that I think he’s been moving the lines too much, you know? I I said I said I didn’t see your comment before I said that, but yeah, I feel like he’s moving the lines too much. I think maybe he’s been surprised. Maybe he thought the guys could play the way they they had been playing um without Bararkov, but it’s not working out. Going to have to try some new things. You’d much rather just let Maurice do his thing. I mean, to an extent, Mike. So, at some point, he’s tried all the line combinations. So at some point he’s got to just decide, okay, those are the combinations and we’re gonna stick through it through a g through a game or two. You know what I mean? Like as soon as we started, we won three games straight and as soon as we lost the game, he just went full on line blender like period by period by period. So I I and I don’t understand why. So Trey says, “Just got to get fifth in the Atlantic. Hell, if it wasn’t for the NHL rules, we could finish sixth this year and make it. Carolina and Jersey are the only playoff teams in the metro. Then there will be one charity team that has a worse record than the sixth Atlantic. Dietrich. Uh Mika is back at practice, so I think he’s okay. Mythical says, “Maurice is just playing with lines and seeing our working chemistry until we get later in the season and we’re pretty much set.” I mean, that that’s possible, you know. Hey, ABS. Trey says, “There are no more undefeated teams in the Oh, in the fantasy football league. Appreciate that.” Now, Real’s got a good point. He says, “Anyone who thinks Bararkov is going to be playing at an elite level if he comes back for the playoffs, I hate to disappoint you, he’s not going to look right immediately either.” Yeah, Chafasi. more forch check and more traffic in front. Right. So Mike says, “I don’t think it’s just a matter of Barkoff being out. I think it’s a compilation of Bararkov being out and everyone else is out and all the time they put in on the ice. It’s just going to take a little time for them to catch up.” Yeah, I I I can’t disagree with that. Vincent says Jos wants to get rid of book so much he mentions his name with a spit out of his mouth. I never understood the 1.5. I never understood giving boquist the 1.5. still don’t, but that’s okay. We’re allowed to have uh differing opinions. Mythical says, “Is it really the worst decision to shut down Barkoff for the season if we can land Crosby?” Crosby has a contract for next season. So that I don’t I don’t believe in any way, shape, or form that’s going to happen unless we’re going to send somebody back because um next year you would have everybody under contract. Bob would have to take like $3 million, maybe five mill, you know what I mean? Like the only way he could pay for Crosby next year and keep the team together is Bob taking like a $5 million pay cut. I don’t think that’s fixing to happen. If Crosby was on the last year of his deal, I maybe isish, right? But because he’s got a he’s got term, you know, who’s who’s playing wing out of Barkoff, Crosby, Bennett, Lundelle? You’re not going to put one of them on the fourth line. So, which one of those guys you going to put? Barkoff, Crosby, Reinhardt. I mean, it could happen, sure. Um, but I I just don’t feel like it’s it’s gonna happen. Dougling says Conor McDavid got suckered into signing that deal the Others lost again. Well, Edmonton perennially starts kind of slow though, too, right? Says hopefully the brotherhood will come together for Marsh and get a win against Boston. if they help him get a win against his old team, that could be what they need to turn the page. I Yeah, I I I agree with that sentiment. I kind of feel the same way where it’s like you kind of feel like they’re not going to let him lose in Boston. You know what I mean? McDavid took a discount just to lose with Skinner. McDavid knew what he was doing. There’s no goalies out there for them to go get. I don’t you know what I mean? Like there’s nobody out there that is such an upgrade over Skinner that it says, “Okay, now we’re going to win the cup.” Travis thinks we should give Gregor a lur a look and Dietrich. Yeah, Barkov’s better than Crosby. Now, do I I didn’t pick the Ducks, Dark Fear. I didn’t pick the Ducks to make the playoffs this year, but they’re getting close. They’re getting close. You’re going to see in the next few years, you know, some teams making it soonish, right? Especially in the Western Conference, it’s been the same teams over and over and over and over and over again for quite some time for the most part. Like, you know, Blackhawks haven’t made it in a long time. Utah. Obviously, the Kraken made it the one time. The Ducks, Sharks, Flames. It’s It’s been a hot minute. Yeah. Now, Strafi, I heard that somewhere. I don’t know if it was you or somebody else. He says, “I listened to the Reinhardt post game and he sounded like he had a little bit of a cold.” I would love if that’s the issue. I would love it if that’s the issue. I mean, I I still can’t get over how different they looked in the three home games versus the four road games. So, them coming out and saying, “Yeah, there was an illness going through the locker room.” I’d love that because that would explain it. We’ve seen them look like that before. So, we’ll see. All right, everybody. I got to roll. It’s Monday. I got to get the pack and ship done. Appreciate everybody hanging out. Appreciate all of the support. Um, when the Dolphins fire Greer and McDaniel later today, we’ll be live on the football channel. Yeah, positive vibes. Just just just put it out there. Just just hope Dolphin fans. And in terms of Panther fans, tomorrow night in Boston, we can’t lose to the Bruins. Not because the Bruins suck, but we can’t do that to Marshy, man. We can’t. We we that team has to rally around him and make sure he leaves a winner. Can’t have can’t be going in there and having Boston push us around like some of these other teams have done. So, all right. Appreciate y’all and I shall see you mñana.

  1. Just because the games aren’t won during these different line changes does not mean Coach/Staff is not collecting data. That was the reason we had the Greer/Nosek/Gadjo line to begin with. They’ll figure it out.

  2. Still have faith we get in playoffs. I know they probably did no training over the summer. They need rest. I agree w u on call up some ahl players to get some rest
