Brutal 2C and 3C options with Chytil out. This hurts to look at compared to our 22/23 or 23/24 forward group (I am aware we have a LOT of injuries).

Ah yes, the immortal Joe LaBate, first of his name, first I’ve ever heard of him.
at least boeser is back!
It’s tough. 3-4 years ago I would have said “At least we have Petey, a superstar to drive our top line.” Now I see him and he just doesn’t inspire much confidence at all.
Fuck man. This would have been ok if we had kept Suter at least.
Are we still in Pre-Season?
We were icing literally 50% AHLers here.
I don’t understand how anybody can see that and still think it’s not odd for Pettersson to only have 16:56 of ice time. Yes, it was a blowout, but Quinn got played into the ground again with 25:41, leading Hronek by almost 3 minutes, Myers by >4:30, and Marcus by nearly **8 minutes**. This, after Foote had just played Quinn 25 and 30 minutes in the two games prior, when Quinn has *clearly* not been 100%, so clearly the plan wasn’t to rest the top guys in a lopsided loss.
No, EP40 is nowhere near good enough for what he’s paid/who he can be. Yes, he needs to shoot A LOT more. However, he is still having a very positive impact in his minutes while being the only NHL-calibre centre we haveāto make no mention of the fact that his offense has been improving game by game. At a time like this, it would only make sense to lean on him as a load-bearing piece instead of shaving his minutes to middle-6 levels.
I’m not actually criticizing Foote or trying to sound any premature alarms here; I’m just curious about his decisions, and I really wonder if he’s been given advice from the team docs to cap Petey’s ice time as a tendinitis management plan. Nothing else makes any sense. (And before anyone points to Petey’s FO numbers from Pittsburgh to justify his ice time, remember that there really is no correlation between FOW% and ATOI.)
At least it’s the best AHL team in the league
It was bad trade for Chytil in the first place but the trade had to be made.
Nuks knew they needed a 2C and thought they could get by with Chytil.
Time to trade a 1st round pick for a solid 2C. Ur wasting Hughes and Demko in their prime
Oops all AHLers
Management went into the season with terrible centre depth, and after a predictable injury to Chytil, and a 4th line centre sustaining a minor injury, they are running Pettersson – Raty – Sasson – Aman. This is the result of a horribly constructed centre group, not some terrible luck, and it may sink the Canucks.
We knew injuries were going to happen. Everyone knew. We always get above league average injury misfortune.
