the most points in NBA history on a guy making their NBA debut. Yeah. Yeah. Like Will Chamberlain, uh, some other dude and and then you. Me? Yeah. And then you. So, I mean I mean just talk about this tonight’s performance, man. Um, from the team standpoint, um, got the win, which mattered the most. Um, saying all the points, like I said, it’s going to come. It’s basketball at the end of the day. Like, like I been saying, um, it’s just basketball. try not to overthink it. You know, I’ve been putting in the reps, been putting in the work. My teammates been trusting me. Um, I trust my teammates. So, I mean, you know, I was blessed to, you know, be this position on the big stage in Boston. Um, and perform you. He also had the most first quarter points in NBA history for debut. 14. LeBron had 12. Like to game one mentioned, LeBron will What does that mean? How do you process that? Uh, you know, it’s it’s amazing. I must say it’s amazing. Um, I mean, but you know, I have a you know, hopefully, you know, God’s going to have a long career ahead of me. Um, you know, that’s what matter most, man. Longevity, you know, knowing LeBron has been here for 20 plus years, know I’m hoping I can do that one day, you know. Um, but just kind of putting in work. Um, but like feels great to be have my name mentioned name, but you know, credit to Brown and credit to my teammates for passing me the ball. But talk about that first quarter cuz everybody like you had one point for like a while, right? And then then all of a sudden it was like you had you scored 10 straight points, somebody else got a layup and then you hit a three. You scored 13 in of your final 15 points in that quarter. Talk about that stretch. Um I was just saying I mean I was just having fun to be honest. Um balls uh the ball was moving, you know, getting good getting good looks, you know, capitalizing on them. That was the main thing, just capitalizing on the, you know, on the, uh, looks we had. Um, and I was able to knock down some shots, get to the rim, finish. Um, and, you know, my teammates was creating for me. That’s why I get those bottom catches shots cuz I had my teammates create for me. Everything you and Tyrese were able to do tonight. Is that kind of a is it fun to play with the guys? It’s just as quick and fast as you are, and b I mean, is that something that you guys kind of envisioned in in terms of playing fast, being able to get open looks the way you guys were tonight? Yeah. Um, you know, we fight we both up really well in the open court. Um, you know, playing fast is something that, like you said, we want to do, we want to do. Um, you know, like I say, uh, ain’t much can keep up. Um, and then, you know, you know, Joe ain’t, you know, Joe was out there and there, but when Joe’s fully back, you know, when Joe’s fully back, you know, it’s going to be a different game, but it’s going to be better if you ask me. Um, cuz he requires so much attention. you know, you go one-on-one night, it’s, you know, it’s night and day for whoever’s guarding him. So, and then oneonone with Tyrese, it’s night and day for whoever guarding him, too. So, I mean, it’s great to just be surrounded by uh by superstars, man. People that can help me, you know, continue to go as a player on and off the floor. What do you see in their defense that you were able to take advantage that way? There’s something like going in you knew I was going to be able to get shots in the spot or the transition, whatever that might have been. Yeah, I know where my shots going to come from um against every team to be honest. Like I say, my my teammates uh they require so much attention. Um like I said, I’m playing alongside Joe on the beat. I play alongside Tyres Maxi who requires a lot of attention. Quinton Grimes who can break anyone down the dribble. You know what I’m saying? So like and they pass the ball, you know. Ain’t like ain’t like any of them are selfish. You know, they all pass the ball and I’m the right spot at the right time. And you mentioned like Joel’s easing in right now. Paul’s going to come to a late. What’s this period going to be like for you where you know you’re starting off your career and those guys are going to come back slowly but surely? Yeah. Um I mean I fit in I fit in well with them. Um we all practice and stuff like that. So it won’t be no it won’t be no pressure or anything you know to play alongside them. Won’t be no pressure and I look at it as a blessing. You know I’m able to be playing alongside superstars, you know, as a rookie. You know what I’m saying? People and you know we’re ready to win now. and you know just I just want to be a part of a winning team and I know they all want be on the same team. Where does this confidence come from? I mean is it being a part of the Bohemian national team where you you know you played with other pros, you know what I mean? So you I mean some of them like play one of the best. I mean is it one of those things where you like hey I could play with these guys and I know they’re like allstar caliber players. Is that where the confidence came from? Man, like I said, no I just I’m sorry. I work on my I work every day. I work out every day, you know. I work on certain things to get better every day. That’s where my confidence was. Oh my god. Stop it, Reese. But um yeah, like I said, my teammates also instill confidence in me. You know, it’s a different game and I’m playing with team Bahamas, you know. I don’t have Tyreek Maxi. I don’t have, you know, um Job, you know. Um but I say the team Bahamas definitely helped me a lot. They definitely helped me a lot. Um helped me, let me say, you know, I can be on the floor with certain players. know I can be on the biggest stage. Um we one game away from the Olympics, you know, the world’s biggest stage, you know what I’m saying? So, um yeah, that’s where my confidence come from. But I know I work every day and all my life for for moments I do. So, um you know, this is my dream. I you know, I pray for this. I always pray to make it to the NBA and to stay in the NBA, man. And you know, that’s what it is. You can live up to your expectations. But, uh the the debut of finally playing in the NBA, man. Yeah, that was crazy. that that was surpassed my expectation to be honest. I mean, coming in, I mean, I didn’t know where I was getting drafted to, but man, first game in T Garden, come on. Like, couldn’t hear myself breathing, brother. Like, it was it was crazy, you know? Super energetic fans, super passionate fans. But, no, credit to them for, you know, showing love to their city, love to your team, man. And so, yeah.
