  1. lol. six seeeeeven. I actually really would like to see Schwartz stick around, maybe for a year or two at a comparable ABV.. I mean ABV… shoot… I mean AAV.

  2. **6. Jaden Schwartz, Seattle Kraken**

    Age: 33

    Position: Wing

    Contract term: 2026 UFA

    Cap hit: $5.5 million

Schwartz is among a group of intriguing forwards playing out the final year of their contracts with the Kraken — joining captain Jordan Eberle, Mason Marchment and Eeli Tolvanen, among others — and will carry trade value if Seattle becomes a seller for a second straight year.

A quick, skilled winger coming off a 26-goal season, Schwartz has a little extra shine thanks to his Stanley Cup bona fides, earned during the 2019 run with the St. Louis Blues. He’s cracked the 20-goal plateau on six occasions during his career and is off to a solid start early in the 2025-26 campaign.

    **7. Jamie Oleksiak, Seattle Kraken**

    Age: 32

    Position: LHD

    Contract term: 2026 UFA

    Cap hit: $4.6 million

One of the largest men in the league at 6-foot-7 and nearly 260 pounds, Oleksiak represents the kind of depth contenders crave. While he’s seen a small decline in his minutes in recent years, he’s shown he can handle second-pairing deployment at even strength while logging big minutes on the penalty kill. He can also line up on either side of the ice.

There will always be demand for massive defensemen who can take care of business, and Oleksiak finds himself as a candidate to be dealt because he’s eligible for unrestricted free agency in the summer of 2026.

  3. Media consensus is probably that the Kraken still suck but given early season results, there is a chance that we’re a playoff team when we get back our 6(!) injured starters.

I don’t see the ownership selling players if they think the coaching staff can get us back to the playoffs this year. They need to sell tickets and getting us into the playoffs is the best way to do that, even if the best long term thing for the team might be to maximize return for these two guys.

  4. Yeah these are two good ones to move.

Oleksiak would kind of suck because I like him but I get it. He’s not going to be our top end option and he’s going to be asking for more time or money soon.

Schwartz jams up the forward group. Only getting older and more expensive. If he’s not a long term guy might as well get the value you can for an upper middle 6 guy.

  5. This is such an important year for the Kraken to turn expiring contracts into picks, prospects or young players.

McTavish should be on the list as well

  6. If we’re out of it before the deadline, I would expect a lot more than just Schwartz and Oleksiak to be sold

If we’re in it still, I expect we’ll be buyers, and maybe sellers at the same time
