It wasn't perfect, but it sure was fun seeing some different stuff out there last night. This is not meant to be a hate thread on Thibs, but I know it can be perceived that way. I'm more celebrating the fact that we're opening up the playbook and are trending toward an offense that leverages more of the talents of all the players we gave up so much to get. And also the fact that we were short-handed but it didn't feel like we were. There's a lot to be done and tougher challenges ahead, but it was a great opener at home.

  1. Agree 9/10 but think perimeter D could’ve been a little better… but so fixable. Mainly just defending these catch and shoot plays but defense did a stellar job of blocking off the next pass

  2. It really was great – we got double bigs, various versions of 5 out (including deuce with the starters), an OG at the 5 lineup, we played some of the kids, played a two-way guy and we still won! Mitch and Hart were out, we played some smaller lineups and we still won the rebounding battle. It’s only one game but it was quite the start to the season – hopefully we keep getting better.

  3. This post was amazing. That was me all day yesterday watching the game. My boy kolec got some nice minutes.

  4. The Brunson off-ball corner three gave me life. Imagine what it’ll do for spacing when the guaranteed bucket that is JB is wandering around the court looking for space.

  5. Yes!!!! The tight perimeter D was excellent to see…it used to be so frustrating seeing the wide open 3s from every team every night under Thibs..his old school philosophy of defending the paint was idiotic at best!

  6. Man, I love our bench. We are deep this year. Love to see Kolek play valuable minutes
