How finalists are determined per MLB.com

“Position finalists and winners are determined by a vote of managers and coaches who cast ballots for players at each position in their league. Each team receives four (4) votes; the manager and three coaches of the team’s choice. Votes are based on a combination of offensive statistics including OPS, OPS+, home runs, RBI, batting average, total bases and runs, as well as the managers’ and coaches’ general impressions of a player’s overall offensive value.”

This years AL outfield finalists include:

Cody Bellinger, New York Yankees
Byron Buxton, Minnesota Twins
Riley Greene, Detroit Tigers
Aaron Judge, New York Yankees
Julio Rodríguez, Seattle Mariners
George Springer, Toronto Blue Jays

  1. Not a single angel made the list. There’s probably a reason for it but I’ll stick to my theory that MLB hates Anaheim because of Ohtani so they’ll do anything to bury the team

  2. I wouldn’t expect him to be a finalist, but I’m also not a fan of his game. I think he’s a losing player.

  3. Springer only played 57 games in the outfield this year… You shouldn’t even be eligible for the award at a position if you didn’t play over 50% of the games there

  4. Good should light a fire in everyone ass to be good as a team to be taken seriously
