Dillon Brooks Postgame Media Availability | Phoenix Suns | 10-22-25
Dylan, was this was this what you imagined when you came here with the crowd in front? Sorry, in front. Was this what you imagined? The crowd reacting to to your play and you guys play and and the I’m sure you didn’t want to be down 20, but then to be part of a comeback. Yeah. Um I shot it like shot it bad to begin with. Um but you know, the fans stuck with it. Um I know Phoenix brings out the crowd every single night. Uh we appreciate our fans sticking with us. It’s how we play. Um if we started off better, you know, it could have been a whole different game, but you know, we fought, we clawed, we stick together. Um our bench brought us in. Grayson played well. CG um and Royce, uh Mark, you know, coming back from injury was key. Um and you know, that’s how we play. We figure it out and we play tough. We play physical and you know we listen to each other on that floor. Another thing I had was obviously you you know you you engage with guys. It’s just what you do and and D Rozan I think it felt like a wear down effect with you the whole night. Maybe just take me through that oneonone. Yeah, it was definitely a wore down effect on you know Deari is a great player. Um find a way to get to that uh free throw line. Uh we wore down on uh Zack too. Uh we couldn’t find him in the fourth quarter which was great. Um especially, you know, when we found that lead and they needed threes and that’s who they go to. Um and we just, you know, we just we just attacked their defense and we knew that their defense wasn’t that strong. They don’t got inside protection and, you know, that first half we were turn over the basketball. thought we were um you know missing shots but you know that’s our resilience and you know we on to the next um in the second half it felt like the urgency level was like at a different peak then compared to the first half feel like y’all only gave up maybe two three-pointers made in the second half as well. What kind of went into just what you saw from that urgency uptick? Our physicality um was a lot better. you know, our bigs were coming over more um on that. You know, we were forcing them to drive our closeouts into our bigs for for shot blocking. Um and then we were pushing them pushing the break. You know, once they started missing, we were able to get in transition, find each other, um open transition trays, and you know, able to, you know, find our closer to close it out. Dylan, what do you think? This was coach A’s first win as a head coach. What do you think that meant for him and what was the the scene in the locker room like? Uh it was, you know, like you always see. Um they had a little video for him, his family, congratulating him, looking at his journey, you know, through the NBA, um being assistant, you know, um being a video guy, you know, grinding it out to get to where he is today. And you know, he’s special. You know, he’s in that, you know, office at the practice facility every single day till 8 900 p.m. And I know that cuz I’m in there, too. Um, and you know, over the summer, you know, he’s there rebounding, you know, as a head coach. He’s passing the ball. He’s into the workouts. You know, you don’t see that type of, you know, that type of um, what’s the word? I’m drawing a blank. um consistency, engagement, you know, as a coach and um he’s the offensive wizard. He’s he figures he figures stuff out and you know, we really wanted to get this win. Um especially in this fashion, it feels great. Um and you know, we put water all over him and you know, showered them. Dylan, congratulations on your first win with the team. Um coach mentioned you have an amazing work ethic. He said you were one of the first guys to be here in the arena. Can you please tell us about your level of preparation prior to this game and your level of excitement? Yeah, I might have been too excited. Uh, you know, missing some easy shots that I make. Um, but, you know, this is the first season that, you know, I never had really no nerves. You know, I feel like I was prepared. I knew where my spots were. I knew if I was going to, you know, miss or make, you know, to stick with it. And you know, this the past two summers, um, I’ve been putting in a lot of work, um, trusting it. Um, you know, shout out to my trainer, David Tinddale. Um, both of us, you know, been working resiliently every single day. Um, I even got up at like 6:30, couldn’t sleep, and came to the gym and got some shots up. But, um, just trusting to work every single day and, you know, keep recovering, take care of my body for these games. Dylan, you could call that a first impression for you with the fans, but they seem to be familiar with you, right? Did you get that sense that they knew where you would impact the game? Yeah. Uh, you know, on a defensive end, um, making, you know, plays and honestly, um, just, you know, revving up my teammates, um, to, you know, be confident and make plays for each other and, you know, ultimately, you know, get stops. Is that wear down effect you think something you guys can rely on over the course of the season knowing if you play that hard in the fourth quarter teams will fold? Oh yeah. Uh I know that from every team I play on and just is that if you’re able to play hard every single night, you know, there’s teams are not willing to do that. And you know, especially, you know, in the first game, the good test, you know, we’re able to, you know, show to ourselves that we can do it at any given night. And, you know, we’re confident we’re going to keep moving forward. Dylan, throughout training camp, it felt like the main theme around around training camp was just the intensity of the practices. Um, how did you see that intensity translate from practices where you guys are scrimmaging to a live game scenario like tonight? Almost felt the same just with a whole bunch of fans in it. Um, I think we were, you know, kind of getting tired of going against each other, especially me. I caught a little elbow in one of the practices, but um we, you know, play hard, we push each other, we have energy, um every single day, and it’s endless energy. You know, when you got a a bunch of young guys mixed with a couple, you know, vets, you know, that gives you life, it gives you youth. And um we get right back at it, you know, at the mall. Appreciate it. Appreciate you.

If you have the clip, please post any soundbites of defensive communication from last night's game because I heard some watching the game. So I know you have some. It's so exciting.
No lie , I disliked Dillon the villain. Now heβs on our team and things is way different. Love the swagger he brings. Similar to Mikel
Dillion Brooks. Cool a F. Has Developed his Offensive Game.
