  1. I know his wife is pregnant and has been very close to their delivery date, this update is super ominous and I’m just praying they are okay

  2. “Heavy heart” does not sound good at all. This is more important than baseball. I wish them all the best possible.

  3. I initially read this as “Alex Vesia passed away” and my stomach dropped. Though it sounds like tragic news regardless.

All the best to him and his family, whatever the situation is. Whatever has happened is surely more important than tossing a ball around.

  4. Oh no. My wife is pregnant and this is every expected parents biggest fear. Sending my love

  5. Sorry to hear this. Wish them all the luck in the world.

My sincerest condolences if it’s as bad as it sounds. There are no words for that kind of loss.

  6. That doesn’t sound good at all. Hoping for the best possible outcome for him and his family

  7. Sending all the best wishes to the Vesia family. Family is more important than baseball (and indeed a great many number of things).

That being said the message gave me a huge jump scare there. “It’s with a heavy heart… Alex Vesia… away…” Curses to my habit of quickly skimming over messages.

  8. Knowing how it looks like his wife is due any second, to have this be “with a heavy heart” is terrifying

  9. I got some of his wife’s ig reels in my algorithm recently joking about how close she is to giving birth. I really hope it’s not related to that

  10. man his wife was posting on tiktok a lot about how happy they were to almost have this baby :/ i hope everything works out okay but this doesn’t sound good

  11. If you take a healthy, full term birth, for granted…please don’t. It is a miracle, a beautiful miracle.

We rushed my pregnant wife to the hospital at 26 weeks, not thinking our son would be born that night, weighing 2 lbs. We are one of the lucky ones, as our son is 14 now, and super healthy.

My best wishes to Alex Vesia and his wife.

  12. Sitting here holding my 1-month old and feeling legitimately sick to my stomach. Holy fucking hell, against all odds, please don’t let it be what it sounds like.

  13. Sending love and strength to the Vesia family. Baseball’s just a game, family comes first always.

  14. Alex and his wife were both very nice people despite being an opposing fan. Sincerely hoping they are both okay.

  15. This is gutting, and I hope nothing but the best for them both. Hope they get the support and privacy they need going forward.

  16. As the dad of a 15 week old after 3 miscarriages, can’t help but be in tears reading this.
