One of the scariest things about last night and trying to evaluate them is I was like, “I know what team they remind me of and I’m afraid to say it in the LFR questions. People are like, “Are you getting 2019 20 vibes?” And I went, “Oh shit.” Why do they remind you of that team? Because that team was nothing. They had no identity. I don’t know what they were. They looked like they should be a fast team. They looked like they should be a skilled team. They looked That was when they fired Babcock, right? Yes. The Babcock Leafs were nothing. And Kee comes on board. I think they go 12 and four and they’re playing the way they were sold and then everyone remembers or you might not because of COVID but sometime around mid January February they just started playing like the beginning of the season again. Mhm. And you remember that team was an eighth place team. Yes. Just because co happened and that was the cut off like they got into the playoffs for that reason. They might have missed the playoffs that year. The Leafs hated Mike Babcock. their players hated and I know that from people who were there and I think part of the reason they went 12 and four when they got Sheldon Keefe is they tried their bag off for this new coach and eventually they got lazy and they were downright mediocre again and I think the best part of their season was the one where they tried. This has always been this era of the teams problem. the prior eras felt like alot of heart and effort but not the best skill in comparison to league.. now .. its like top skill no heart

I’ll summarize your teams issues here. You have a tremendous amount of skill and on paper should be a cup contender. However, with that skill you also have primadonnaa, AAV chasers, big market egos, fan haters, no synergy, and what seems like a squad that doesn’t care about cup. You have a major culture problem in Toronto led by Matthews and Nylander. Matthews the guy who starts fights and then skates away from them, and Nylander the guy who is a well known douche.
You need a rebuild. Look at NJ as an example, they have a top 10 guy making only 8.5M. Hughes once said, we are here to win, if you want to be here sign the contract. None of them are there for big paydays. That’s the culture of a winning team.
Leafs have no grit, period.

I’m done with players getting a pay check without proving anything. Sure Auston and Willie have talent but haven’t won’t anything. Thank god marner is gone. We are the male leafs. One of the problem of the Leafs is that their #1 star is a lazy asshole.
Ran Marner out of town, realized it’s hard to replace a 100 point scorer, most teams never find one at all. better find a new scapegoat quick!

While watching the devils game i was thinking what kind of team are the leafs. Whats their style or their identity. They dont have one.
In my opinion (I'm an Avs fan) the biggest earners on the Leafs are the laziest group of players on that roster. Marner is now finding out what it means to work your socks off every night in Vegas and he looks absolutely knackered. 😂
