A friend texted this to me and although I do remember him having an awful game, it didn’t raise suspicions until now. I know he was trying to secure a big contract for the next season but just some food for thought.

Can’t rule it out
Could be wrong but I don’t think either the NBA or FBI have mentioned looking into him that far back.
jaylen missed 9 lol
Nah he just sucked that game
I think this was just to big a game for them at the time.
This might be the game that started everything
this was way before legal sports betting and if you watched the game he was just bricking open shots. let’s not be delusional here
Wouldn’t he have made more money if the Celtics won? Weren’t the Cavs favored?
Joe Murray (radio guy on 98.5 that is a huge sports betting person) has said for YEARS that Rozier threw that game.
For years
Nah just like Al Horford, he waited until he was on an Eastern playoff rival to sabotage them
Marcus smart was like 1-10 this game
This is dumb
Jaylen 13 pts on 18 attempts with 1 assist is WORSE
Off topic but Tatum needing to carry the Celtics as a rookie in a pivotal game 7 is insane
Now way. I highly doubt any of that kind of stuff was going on in the playoffs let alone game 7
Rozier had a lot of good games for the Celts. He was pivotal for that playoff run. It sucks he got caught up in that nonsense and at the very least, it will end his career
I doubt this is true but if it is, I think we found a bigger enemy than Kyrie
I’ve been questioning this game for 8 years and this make so much sense for me. I clearly remember the Cs offense falling apart right after the Tatum dunk and remember Rozier being part of a lot of that.
Terry spent the previous 6 games being backed down by LeBron James in iso until we late doubled the the ball forcing a pass, where terry was then required to rotate to the shooter at a full sprint. He’s a great athlete but he was completely wiped. We played like this specifically to wear LeBron out despite being a way worse team and it almost worked. We needed him to shoot, just nothing fell that night.
Not to us… he couldn’t have done it to us……. the heat are one thing. But the Celtics? On that run? Oh shit
i knew theres something off about that game!
if he wanted the cavs to win why would he play extremely well the rest of the series, giving us an opportunity to win? in what world is an illegal gambling pay check worth more than the potential contract to be earned from helping lead a team to the finals over lebron james?
We aren’t us. This sub is frat boy pathetic. It’s embarrassing.
Were enough people unable to bet on individual fantasy props in 2018 that point shaving would’ve still been worth it?
That year was crazy. Starting out with the Hayward ankle break to Kyrie getting hurt.
The pace of that game was like a big confident start and then everyone started forcing bad shots and little by little ended up at the half only up 4. Then Q3, team looked gassed, and Q4 broke us because, you guessed it we went ice cold going like 3 or 4 of 13 shots.
We had no business beating that team. We were a big confident squad that year. I don’t think there is any universe he played hard 6 games to give up the 7th in a real chance to see the Finals for the first time.
The latest shit, awful though and I condemn that fully. Doing that in your sport is just ruining the game’s integrity.
Can’t believe we were THISCLOSE with Baynesey as our starting center, surrounded by precocious hoop-babies.
First I’ve heard of this, but thinking back – Terry was uncharacteristically bad. I’m not saying I believe this, but playing devil’s advocate for a sec:
It’s well known that dynasties/icons increase a given league’s revenue/popularity as a whole, which is why certain teams/players are *helped*. David Stern was notoriously known for valuing ratings above integrity & that is why the league grew so much under him. It’s what (+ inflation) bumped NBA deals from a 6 digits maximum – to 7 at minimum. We also see this in the NFL, pushing specific players (Mahomes) to create a new “GOAT” or dynasty, since casuals are more likely to watch & diehards will tune in anyway.
In ’18, there was REAL incentive to ensure a C’s team led by 2 unproven commodities (rook/soph J’s) + Al, Terry, & Mook – sans Kyrie & Hayward – didn’t bounce the prime LBJ Cavs, en route to a Finals matchup vs the “Dynasty Dubs”. WE would’ve tuned in, but most of the world wouldn’t have cared, assuming we’d get smoked. Lower ratings means lower contracts for a large portion of the league.
Ahhhhh, the classic Young Tatum poster on LeBron with Lebron then subsequently taking the game over. Tragic.
This was after scary terry was a thing
I have full confidence that anyone playing under Joe Mazzula legitimately feels they will not peacefully live out their days on this earth if he ever finds out they threw a single game.
I honestly thought of this hahaha
Not gonna lie this is my first thought when I seen the news. I STILL think about that 0-10 to this day
I remember seeing a stat around this time that out of the 300 or so players that have played x amount of games and taken x amount of shots, terry rozier was dead last on that list. Marcus Smart was a close second. This was just a regular game for them back then
My boy in HS use to say this all the time lmao I use to say “are you dumb bro” guess I’m the dummy 🤣🤣🤣
smart went 1-10 jaylen missed 9 3s ,hard to think that rozier believed Lebron would come up with the block of the year etc
It seemed that Terry would let people know when he would not play much to control the over under. Don’t see anything on point shaving.
Everyone needs to listen to the Whistleblower podcast. You’ll see how corrupt the nba is. Donaghy is/was a pos, but he fit right in with nba refs.
I do remember the cavs actively switching Bron onto Rozier over and over. Tanking or not…There was nothing Rozier could do about that matchup.
Given his behavior, we cannot say he did not with confidence. He sure did chuck like he was trying to lose.
