Mike Vrabel Talks Drake Maye’s Improvements After Three Straight Road Wins | New England Patriots
It’s time to sit down, talk with the head coach, Mike Frabel, George Mel. Coach, congratulations. We’re on a roll here. Uh, thank you. It’s hard to win in this league. You’ve told me that since day week one. I sat here before that Raider game. Guys won four in a row. Not only four in a row, three straight on the road. Um, when you look at your team, what do you look at? What What do you think you have when you look at them? Well, I think they’re uh improving. I think that they’re preparing. Uh there’s very good glimpses of complimentary football where we’re able to force short drives on on defense and you know turn that into to points and good field position. Special teams getting involved and then there’s there’s times where it’s just uh not and again I thought you know the last week’s game was um pretty much started off a little slower than we would like. uh we we have to be more um I would say just in tune early on and then you know we kind of hit our stride and and that you know that’s okay. We can’t always rely on that but but it was good to see us you know have have um you know it was there when we needed it. You were asked after the game about Drake May and Drake’s sort of on a roll here and you complimented him. He’s, you said he’s got this athleticism about him when he’s moving, offbalance throws, uh, throwing off platform, the runs. Is there a balance, a fine balance, meaning there’s times to run, there’s times not to run? And yeah, you know, I mean, there’s a balance, you know what I mean? Again, it’s uh to protect him. Yeah, you he’s got to protect himself and be smart. We don’t want to take that away from him. uh because you know if they commit or they’re not disciplined in the rush or they’re not you know they they turn their backs in coverage you know there there’s certain things that we have to be able to take advantage of and but also be smart enough to know uh when to when the journey’s over. So again, I I’ve seen him do a lot of really good things from the pocket. Uh and then also I’ve seen him extend plays and and be decisive. And so that’s that’s a challenge uh defensively, and I I don’t want to take that away uh from him, but also, you know, I I want him to protect himself. Okay, we’re on to Cleveland here. After your time at Tennessee, did you did you think about taking time off at all from coaching? Um initially, maybe. You know, again, maybe. I I just, you know, I did, I guess, initially, um, took a few interviews, had some really good interviews, some some good opportunities. Didn’t didn’t work out. Uh, you know, so we just, you know, Cleveland was I I I enjoyed it. They There’s good people in that building. I got a lot of respect for Kevin and his staff. Your year there, how did that help you become the coach that you are today? Like, what what did you take? I mean, I I took that that how critical the relationships are, how, you know, I spent a lot of time with players more more than you do when you’re a head coach. Uh, so that was very rewarding and and it reminded me how important that is. Um, to to make sure that those connections are strong. Um, and that you’re you’re listening and that you’re paying attention. Um, you know, I think it also taught me that there’s nothing else that I want to do, you know, and then be than be in this position. All right. Jim Schwarz was my grad assistant at Maryland. I remember him living in our dorm eating pizzas every night. He’s stuck around this league for a long time as a good defensive guy. They got a guy in Garrett, Miles Garrett on Yeah, this guy’s a home wrecker, right? This guy is uh hopefully he’s not a home wrecker, but uh hopefully he um he he’s an excellent player. He is a um dynamic. He’s got great length, great burst, speed. It’s not like just a one-trick pony. He he plays with uh power, plays with speed, he has excellent bend and avoid and great instincts. Um he’s a challenge and he’s he’s excellent. And so um Schwarzy is a friend. He he worked in Tennessee with us. He coached there before I got there. He helped us um in Tennessee. And so he’s done a great job in Cleveland. and he’s got that defense playing uh really fast and and and really good. All right, time now for the Sports Illustrated ticket question of the week and it comes from Carol B. She wants to ask you, Joe Missoula, I don’t know if you’ve heard, had a game against the media and he beat him down pretty good. 57 to4 I think the score was put him in their place. If your staff had a flag football game against the media, you have some fun with that, right? Like if Mike Felgger’s in the hole, you could run him over. Yeah. I mean, I don’t know. play flag football, you know, regular football, right? Yeah. Just play regular football. Got to put Mike Reese on my shoulders like tight end, red zone target. You can do right at me. You can do whatever you want. Uh I heard some conversations back there with the coaching staff about, you know, what that would look like. Uh us with the media and uh yeah, I mean, Jeremy Springer was excited to Yeah, Springer was all pumped up. You know, he’s like, you know, he was into it. He wanted to be the running back or something like that. But we got Thomas Brown. We’ll flip it to TB. All right, sounds good. If you want to ask the coach a question, follow the team at Patriots. Ask the coach.
Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel sits down with Scott Zolak to talk about the team’s efforts in winning their past four games, three of which were road games. Vrabel explains what is important to him being the head coach, and why he loves being in this position.

This team has a lot of good players, but Maye is the #1, and I think the top priority for him has to be making sure that he is able to finish the whole game, that he doesn't leave early on the cart. If he's knocked out of the season, the winning is over.
Home wrecker 😂
Happy af vrabel is in charge
Vrabel groceries are producing a great meal and McDaniels is reborn with Brady 2.0. Money Maye 💰 has arrived.
