This is the Tigers Post Cast, your instant game reaction for the Detroit Tigers, part of the Locked On Network. Your team every day. Oh man, a major major bummer in game two of the ALDS. Seattle takes it 3-2 over the Tigers. Welcome to a live lockdown Tigers postcast. I am your host Jake Rema. You can follow me on Twitter, Jake_REMA. This is your Tigers postgame destination. Free and available wherever you get your podcast and of course on YouTube. All part of the Lockdown Podcast Network, your team each and every day. Make sure you like today’s video and subscribe to the Locked On Tigers channel. And the outlook for the series completely shifts. It’s all tied up now. And Jorge Palano, a Tiger killer, is back. Two home runs tonight. And the Tigers showed some grit, but still two runs not gonna get it done. The Bats are going to need to wake up. As always, I’ll have my biggest talking point, our turning point, and our player of the game. It’s all next on this edition of the Lockdown Tigers postgame show. And your comments are welcomed. I know this one didn’t go the Tigers way tonight. And sound off in that comment section. and let me know what you are feeling as we progress through a sad locked on Tigers postgame show because this was the game we thought we budgeted and this is why you can’t budget and I’m guilty of it too you can’t budget wins even as good as TKO is credit to the Mariners they and really just Jorge Palano he got the two big hits but let’s start with that it’s our biggest talking point this is what you’ll be talking We get into this position where we pigeon hole TKO into perfection and as good as any pitcher’s ever been in the history of the world. And TKO is among the best pitchers, certainly active pitchers and best pitchers in the world right now and maybe all time and who knows before it’s all said and done could go down as one of the greatest ever. But you can’t the rest of the the team can’t take the day off and just rely on Terra Scuboo. And I’m certainly not suggesting that they did that. But just again, the offense didn’t come to play until you finally get the Spencer Torqulson two RBI double, which shout out to him, a big big spot there when the Tigers were down two nothing to come through with the two RBI double in the top of the eighth. but they’re unable to hold it when you get, you know, the heart of the lineup comes through for the Seattle Mariners with Finnegan on the mound and he gets roughed up for the backto-back doubles that leads to the go-ahad run. So, a baseball game at this point of the season in the heat of the playoffs of the postseason, everything’s magnified and every little thing is is under the microscope. And that’s that’s what playoff baseball is all about. And unfortunately, the Tigers after last night’s heroics and putting themselves in the driver’s seat for this ALDS series and a chance to come back home up two nothing with the B again. I believe Ter’s the greatest pitcher in the world on the mound and in the complete control of the series with a one- nothing lead in the series. They don’t get it done tonight. And you know, you can do a couple of different mental gymnastics exercises where you would say, “Hey, yeah, after two games in Seattle, you’re tied 1-1 and you’re still in control of the series going back to KA Park.” Yeah, that you can you can have that conversation and certainly wouldn’t be crazy, but the dynamics of that conversation significantly change when you were up one- nothing and Terrick Scooel was the guy going for you in game number two. But a lot of comments, a lot of people want to get in on that. We’ll get back to the game in just a second. Kobe says, “Man, I am scared because you can’t lose the scubble game.” Demetrius McNeel says, “When you only have three hits in the postseason, that’s not good. At least you get the split in Seattle.” Exactly what I was referencing. Tigers want to make sure they win the next two games. Forget about it. Come back in the next game. That’s right. still a chance to control your own destiny at home and close this best of five series out at Com Park. And you know, you look back to when this team seemingly is at their best is when people are doubting them and the conclusion of the regular season and into the postseason to where we are now is a perfect example of that. Um R1 VJ4 says Seattle going to have to work for it too unless the Tigers bats wake up. Tigers bats absolutely need to wake up and Keen Anvil says the same thing. That’s one anemic offense. And it is it it it is it’s kind of bizarre that Spencer Tolson is responsible for the only hit that yields a run um and two-run score. And you know I talk all the time about the aggressive base running. That was a time where aggressive base running paid off and was actually calculated. I love Joey Cororus sending home Riley Green there for the tie on the two RBI double. Um, and you know, so I’m not anti-aggressive baseball running. I’m just anti- running into outs. Speaking of Julio Rodriguez ran into another out on the I know he had the go-ahad hit, so nobody’s going to be talking about that, but again, he was gunned out at home trying to add an insurance run. and it didn’t end up mattering, but that was a big point in the game. Couple more comments. Um, Travis Wayne says, “Last year we made the mistake of letting it slip in game four last year. No half measures.” Yeah, I think about that too all the time with that series against the Guardians where you feel like you were in the driver’s seat and up at Com Park in a really good position and were unable to come away with the wins when it mattered the most. Okay. Um, brand new says it was a sad performance for sure. I don’t disagree. Angels here to provide some optimism. Optimism saying y’all need to calm down. We did what we needed to do and they were desperate for a win. Very true. Very true. But, uh, in the postseason when you’ve got an opportunity, you’ve got to seize it. That’s for sure. Um, I agree with Guy Merritt here. Says Scubble can be good or great. What did we get? Three hits. I mean, you can’t get three hits in a playoff game and expect to win. That’s what it is. And there are guys that need to be held accountable. And I’m watching after Torqulson’s double, you still got a runner on second with only one out. And Wel Perez pinch in a pinch hitting spot comes up. Um, or I’m sorry, that wasn’t the pinch hitting spot, but Wel Perez at the plate just looked so lost. He strikes out and it it just he doesn’t have that confidence that he had at the beginning portion of the season and really for the vast majority portion of the season. He’s just looks so so bad in the playoffs. Um and you know at the bottom of that lineup, Dylan Dingler 0 for four. Um you got Zack McKinstry 0 for three. Um Jav gets one hit, but Parker Meadows 0 for four. was just you’re not going to get it done when such a large portion of the offense has just been anemic. And I forgot who said the anemic comment, but they are uh exactly right with that uh with that declaration. All right. Um appreciate everybody tuning in. As for the other side of things, listen, um the Seattle Mariners are loaded. That lineup’s loaded. And we saw it at the top of the lineup when Cal Rally hits the big dumper, hits a double and Julio Rodriguez comes back with a double himself. Um, and then obviously Palano with the two solo home runs earlier in the game. So those are all crucial crucial um at bats that the Tigers were on the the short end of it. As for the bullpen, listen, I’m not going to hammer Kyle Finnegan. He’s been so so good and such a great uh trade line acqu or trade deadline acquisition, but um a bummer for the way he uh got got hit around there allowing the uh three hits in his time on the mound um and result of the Mariners taking the lead there after it was tied at two apiece. So, appreciate um the uh the live audience here tuning in even if it is a little bit later on a Sunday night here. But off day tomorrow, we’ll look ahead to game number three that’s coming up on Tuesday. Looking forward to that. Don’t go anywhere. We continue on with the Lockdown Tigers postgame show. Tigers fall to the Mariners in game number two of the ALDS. Lots of comments coming in. I appreciate that. And I know there’s some uh dialogue and conversation going on in the comments. So when that happens, I’m unfortunately just a one-man band back here. Can’t follow all of them. But hey, appreciate the interaction and the participation in tonight’s Lockdown Tigers postgame show. Before we look ahead to the matchup of game number three in this series, let’s go ahead and get into our biggest turning point. Time to reveal where the game was won or lost. It’s the turning point. I struggle with how to classify this game other than simply putting, hey, in a couple of different ats, their guys beat our pitchers. Um, two solo home runs and two doubles. That that’s your ball game. And the Tigers offensively never matched that. and on the broadcast which that’s a whole another conversation. The AJ Pzinski and Adam Waywright duo analyst is just it’s a tough lesson listen and I know they played in in the league and Adam Adam mean Adam I’m not sure how to pronounce it. I know he does the the Bulls um TV broadcast and is one of Fox’s guys, but it’s just uh it’s a tough listen at time. But hey, um they’re pretty happy that the the Mariner I know they don’t care, you know, which team wins, but there was a palpable buzz when the uh Mariners were taking the lead there. But that’s just a a bitter Tigers fan like me pointing that out. But hey, lots more um left in this series. And even though tonight’s a heartbreaker, the Tigers are going to strap it up, get back to work, and get back to uh getting into this series and taking a strangle hold in game number three at Coma Park. But as far as turning point, it’s the two home runs and then the two doubles. How about our player of the game? This is the locked on player of the game. Locked on player of the game. It’s real simple. Jorge Palano two home runs and he had had some success in the postseason in 2019 and this many years later he’s back doing it against TKO and uh Palano continues to be a Tigers killer which is um a major bummer as they say major major bummer but uh looking ahead to game number three with the series all tied at one game number three will be on Tuesday October 7th at 4:08 Eastern back at Com Park. You can’t beat the Com Park Motor City playoff baseball atmosphere. I am so jealous of everyone that’s going to that one. Um and we’ll have a blast. And then uh there’s going to be a game number uh a game number five, right? Um so you got Tuesday, October 7th’s game is I’m sorry, a game number four. Sorry, math is hard and late. And uh um math is hard and it’s late night. That’s what I’m going for. So Logan Gilbert, Jack Flity in game number three on Tuesday. Logan Gilbert for the Mariners, Jack Flity for the Tigers. Then Wednesday is game number four. And that’ll be Casey M. The Mariners have not announced their starter yet. That game’s on Wednesday at 3:00 Eastern. So 4:00 Eastern on Tuesday, October 7th in game number three. Game number four, Wednesday, October 8th, 30:08 Eastern with Casey Mice on the bump on Wednesday. And on Tuesday in game number three, it’s Jack Flity. So there we worked through that. That was uh that was tough. That’s my bad, but uh appreciate the patience. So all right, everybody get some sleep. Um Lions won today. Michigan Wolverines won. Those are the other outlets we do postgame shows for. So, if you haven’t yet, make sure you check out the locked on Lions squad show with myself and Natalie Kerwin of FanDuel Sports and Bradford Bant, former Lions veteran and Michigan coach. U play for the Colts, too. It’s a really fun show. And then, of course, the Locked On Tigers postgame show right here on Locked on Tigers. And check out Locked On Tigers with Scott Bentley as I know everybody will because this is a great community. So, and it’s all free. How about that? Free content. But we got a series, ladies and gentlemen. Strap it up, buckle up, dial it in. Series is all tied at one game a piece. And uh we will talk to you on Tuesday. Have a wonderful night and thanks so much for tuning in. See you.

If you cant plate more than 2-3 runs per game, youre on your way out. The K's are ridiculous
They are terrible. They don’t deserve any more.
Look forget polanco. We suuuuuck.
No don’t credit mariners. We suuuuuuck
In two playoff games Skubal is 1-0 with an era of 1.84 in 14/2/3 innings 3 runs 23k 4BB
opportunity blown -not surprised – skubal is beatable now we know, especially the mariners
We make every pitcher we face look like Joe Montana. Our bats are ass nowadays. Go Tigers but damn.
dont bas on wencel – he got us here against clev
by skubal standards he was average tonight
Seattle fans really don’t know ball …it was obnoxious how many garbage ball and strikes they boo and not to mention the 10 premature celebrations to get the final out….maybe I’m just coping
honestly that tigers in playoffs a joke- so enjoy it while we still have skubal- on trade block this winter cuz free agent after 2026
For what its worth the Mariners were 0-28 aside from Raleigh and Julio in Game 1. And even in Game 2 not much from anyone but Polanco and that Raleigh Julio clutch inning. So even if the Tigers bats wake up. Its hard to see a world where the Mariners don't also get a boost there. At the end of the day I think 1-1 is what most people expected after two games. Mariners fans and Tigers fans
Toronto has the best team just giving you the facts good hitting
No way you're calling Ms bias on the broadcast (which was a** as you note!)
Tigers need to shorten their bats and just make contact at times. Huge swings = whiffs more often than not. Where's our Rod Carew, Tony Gwynn or Ichiro Suzuki at Scott Harris???😢
Odds are Tigers and Mariners bats wake up at the same time 🎉
Come on Detroit tigers win this game against the Mariners you guys have not been this far since Jim Leyland was the manager and won the world series since 1984
TIGERS…..welcome HOME….let's do it in front of our fans
A game of missed opportunities for the Tigers. It really showed last night how much this lineup needs a clutch/cleanup hitter.
I mean I people forget that we are also going against great pitchers. Can’t always blame the hitters sometimes the pitchers are just on.
You guys are a tough team! This is a great series!
That julio dude good
