“You know its bad”
People complain about refs literally all the time. Nobody admits it… its like the number one thing fans and writers in any sport talk about.
It’s bad when the calls favour your team. It’s whining the calls favour the opposing team. Are you new to sports?
The WWE isn’t the only organization that rigs matches.
It’s the only one to admit it publicly
Reddit prefers soft hockey. A gentle game. So adorable.
I think the referees should be available for media coverage at the end of the game
Oilers definitely got 2 powerplays they shouldn’t have. That said, they’re more often than not on the other side of that (especially when it comes to the abuse McDavid takes) so I’ll take it where I can get it.
Habs fans acting like they’re the first team to get bad calls.
It’s not “their team.” They just cover them. Not fans
Our subreddit agrees we got bailed by the refs. Nothing more we can do as a fan base.
It wasn’t like it was a 2-1 win. You let the oilers put up 6 goals and maybe 1 or 2 of them were on questionable calls. Maybe worry about the other 5 goals you let in. It’s hard to win when you let the other team score 6.
Try playing the Panthers in the final if you wanna whine about one sided officiating.
Act like you’ve been there before Habs fans
Refs are terrible, sometimes it benefits your team, sometimes it doesn’t. The only consistent thing is the inconsistency.
considering the Odds of the Oilers winning were 8 to 1 when the score was 5-3 canadiens with about 10 minutes left in the game, I can see a lot of people making a lot of money of the reffs totaly interfering with the outcome of this game.
It was not a well reffed game. But that seems pretty common these days. But on the Anderson penalty it wasn’t the puck he shot, it was him ranting at the refs with the wrong language. https://www.reddit.com/r/hockey/s/1yVVccLxsH
They didn’t deserve it, but the life and hockey aren’t always fair.
There’s been horrible officiating all over the league so far.. It’s very concerning when they have video reviews available and still make the incorrect call.
The idea that refs are “above it” is a very old concept that really hasn’t withstood instant replay, constant recording, and betting scandals.
They need to treat the refs like employees with very open/obvious action. But that’s really on the fans/media for not demanding it.
