The Yankees NEED a Centerfielder This Winter

Whether it’s Bellinger, whether it’s Tucker, they’re going to need somebody who can play the position because I don’t think the Yankees should be in a position where they bring in Bellinger to play center field. They should bring in Bellinger to play left field. That is where he’s best defensively. He is not a good defensive center fielder anymore. The last two years, I believe it’s negative4 defensive run saved and negative one outs above average in 400 innings out there in center. That is not the kind of player that’s going to provide you the impact defensively. Whereas in left field, Bellinger is an incredibly impactful defender. In right field, he’s an incredibly impactful defender. Those are the two positions you want him playing. You want Bellinger to be a plus plus on defense because he’s not a great hitter. He should be looked at as a guy who’s so well-rounded that that allows him to contribute four to five wins above replacement.
