Dodgers’ Freddie Freeman spoke with the media about his Canadian roots, and how Canadians have already been giving it to him since the moment he stepped off the plane. “The customs agent asked, why not your Canadian passport?”

  1. Genuinely seems like a great guy….I hope he goes into one hell of a slump for the next little bit though!

  2. I don’t think the customs agent was joking with him.

As a dual citizen we are told to come in to the country with our Canadian passport.

Same thing when I arrive back home. My non-canadian passport was expired so I used my Canadian to enter the country and told them I was going to renew it while I was there, I was told by the customs agent that regardless of it being expired or not I had to use that one as I’m a citizen of that country and have to use that passport.

  3. I hate the Dodgers but damm do they have some likable guys. Freddie is great for the game.

  4. Can’t believe we dodgers fans can enjoy having Freddie. He absolutely shouldn’t have been a dodger, we are eternally grateful.

    Sorry guys!

  5. Curious, any benefit in using or not using Canadian passport entering Canada? Assuming he has one.

  6. What the hell Freddie. Now I can’t hate you, Ohtani, or Betts? Welcome to hatersville, Max Muncy

  7. Geez I almost broke down. Can’t imagine losing your mom so young. Hats off to Freddie for being vulnerable enough to share some deep feelings here.

  8. Hey Freddy you are making it hard not to like you right now. Knock it off and be more hateable please.

  9. Love how he always reps Canada in the WBC, even when he could’ve definitely been on the US team in 2023 and played for the championship, he stuck with a Team Canada that didn’t have a shot

  10. Freddie seems like a good guy.

My mom loves him because they went to the same high school.

My son loves him because of that grand slam last year.

    Go Blue Jays.

  11. This is like, the final boss of “having to hate” the dodgers. Like, go ahead. I dare you. lol

  12. As someone super close to my own mother it always gets me how much he obviously loves his and the way he talks about her is so lovely. I couldn’t even imagine losing someone so important at the age of 10, and it’s beautiful how he continues to honour her whenever he can.

  13. Freddie Freeman is just a class act, all around good dude. He’s what baseball should be all about

  14. Freeman is a likeable dude. With that said, I’ll hate him while the WS is on. Whether the Jays win or lose, I’ll go back to liking him again after the Series is over.

  15. Jays fan but always rooted for Freddy if he was a Brave or Dodger, he’s a good dude, his mom died of skin cancer so he always wears long sleeves for her.

  16. Freddie Freeman is impossible to hate. Dude will go 4-4 against my team with 3 doubles and 2-run nuke and I’ll still like him.

  17. I want to hate you, just for the next couple of weeks. But dammit, i am just unable too!!

  18. You should lose the Series for your mom. It’s what she would’ve wanted.

    Go Jays!
