Rich Eisen: What the L.A. Chargers Showed in Their 37-10 Thrashing of the Minnesota Vikings
What a big win that is for them. Five and three. Imagine the difference between five and three and four and four in that division right now. Okay. A game. Well, the Chiefs performing the way that they’re performing and taking on Marcus Mariota on a Monday night against a Commanders team that has been uh troubles having trouble stopping people. Okay. and they’re um going to go to five and three. You want to stay at that half game. You want that half game that you have in your back pocket on them to still be viable, that week one win in Brazil, still be viable. And then Denver coming off of that rousing come from behind win taking on the Cowboys this weekend. That’s a that’s a tough game for both teams obviously the way that everyone’s been playing of late. Got to have it. Got to have it. Certainly since you just lost to Indianapolis which is at 6 and one if you’re looking at the larger picture. Okay. So that was a big W for them to go five and three. And they have found a tight end, have they not? Arande Gadson’s kid has been killing it. If you picked him up in fantasy a couple weeks ago, you have enjoyed life. And then Leiti Mikon, Leiti, Leiti, I believe Mr. Garvey is coming in next week actually back on the program. I’m going to look forward for Keegan Michael Key coming back. But Manki had 88 yards receiving and a score Meccon Kimmani Vidal everybody who I drafted a year too early. Well over a 100red yards rushing for him. The offense doing what it’s doing. The offense getting Joe Alt back could not be bigger for their for their I love that when they showed the zoom of his foot and how massive the tape job and brace job was for him to be out there. Huge. Well, Joe Alt coming back and you know, Vidal running for over 100 rushing yards for the second time in the last three games since Omari and Hampton went on the injured list. And then if you give Justin Herbert time, man, look out below. He’s now gotten um three passing touchdowns in consecutive games for the first time in four years. four years to make Jim Harbaugh the second person in NFL history to win 60 or more games as a quarterback and now as a head coach. He just won his 60th football game as a head coach in the NFL. And um the only other person is in the Hall of Fame, Norm Van Brocklin. Jim won 66 games as a quarterback and now 60 games as head coach. His coaching record in the NFL is 6028 and one. It’s big game for the Chargers. Had to have it if you wanted to stay in the mix for the AFC West. Don’t forget of the five wins, three of them in division. They won them all to start the season. A home game technically against Kansas City, a visit to Vegas, and then a home game against Denver, holding serve, doing what they need to do. Their next game is at Tennessee. So, big W for them. and just find somebody in your life who loves you as much as Jim Harbaugh loves Justin Iver. This is part of Jim Super. This is part of reason why he does have 60 wins as head coach is he breathes life and confidence into somebody as good as Justin Herbert. And you could laugh all you want. Well, Justin Herbert doesn’t need this sort of conversation about him. But um take a look at the guy who was drafted just before him in the draft and his confidence level these days. You ain’t lying. I mean Curt Warner when we talked about Tua on Wednesday, he was saying his confidence is gone. Said his confidence is shot. So you’re just only a few games away from your confidence level being where it needs to be or being completely shot. which is why Jim Harbaugh takes every opportunity to breathe confidence into his quarterback. And last night’s postgame press conference is the perfect example. And also the latest edition of the Harbaugh Files. Sometimes people that are standing on third base think they hit a triple, but they didn’t. The Harbaugh Files. It’s just another thing about Justin Herbert that I don’t know how he does it. Uh it’s it’s nothing but respect. Um you know to throw be able to actually throw an interception and then come back the next drive. That’s the great ones can do that. The great great ones uh just measure what they do after after something goes bad after after there’s an interception. That’s that’s the worst thing that can really happen to you as a as a quarterback. And then chart what they do with the next drive. um you know that that near interception uh that shakes a lot of guys not Justin Herbert not the great ones having played the position I know what that’s like I mean it’s like your brain I mean it just searing it is it is uh like sirens and whistles and bells going off like uh and to be able to like 3 2 one, let it go, and then come back and uh have a have a scoring drive. And um that’s that’s another one that’s another one reserved for the for the best of the best. The Harbaugh Files. Wow. Yeah. I mean, Isaiah Rogers picked off looked like there was a pick six and then after further review, ball hit the ground a little bit, moved around. You could make the case that uh I know it was close. uh but uh comes back on the field second life 7 minute 39 second drive later found that kid Gadson in the end zone and Gadson 77 yardds receiving and a touchdown. There you go. That’s helpful to say the least. And they did this on defense without Derwin James who is arguably a defensive player of the year candidate. We’ll see how things move forward with him. The injuries just have to stop at some point. I’m sure there are other teams that are saying hold our hold our beer on the injury front, but big win for the Chargers essentially. Hey, you made it all the way to the end. Thanks for that. Check us out every single day streaming live on Disney Plus and the ESPN app 12 to 3 Eastern.

And they let colts look good when they are not good
Tua has a noodle head and arm. He's weak. No comparison between him and Herbert. What a colossal mistake Miami
Thursday night football needs to go away, it’s abysmal….. the short week hurts so many teams!
Soulless ginger driving me crazy.
This win doesn’t mean anything. They still suck.
Who cares when teams beat Carson Wentz. I'm a Steelers fan still looking for a win worth talking about. Chargers lost their 2 biggest tests against KC and Indy.
What the Chargers showed in the big win against the Vikings is how good the Colts are.
Having Joe Alt and Khalil Mack back changes everything. When Chargers can lead those long scoring drives it helps the defense so much.
They proved that they can beat a down team.
As a charger fan I’m not about to say we’re Super Bowl bound after beating the carson wentz led Vikings.. if they beat the Steelers then I’ll feel a lot better about them
This Vikings team just held Saquan Barkley to 44 yards 0 TDs on 18 attempts and played a dam close game with the Eagles. Ppl down playing them after Chargers Win
I never want to see Will Farrell again.. that commercial is so fn annoying
Bolt up
Boycotting RES until they get rid of that PayPal ad with the annoying kid
Also note how many times Herbert ran for a chunk play and was almost completely untouched by a defender. His judgment was so good in those situations.
Say it with me gang… Kimani (VAI-DELL)😂
I would say, the Chargers had a fabulous game against the Vikings. Great run offense. Gadsden was balling out. Defense was fabulous. Great win, but against who? The Vikings aren’t very good. The real test will be Nov 9 against Aaron Rodger’s and the Steelers. That’ll be a tough game.
There was a graphic on the Up and Adam’s show that compared Herbert with At and without him, goes to show how important the position is
Can we please get different ads?
Rich, I am about to stop watching your videos until this stupid Will Ferrell ad stops playing over and over again.
Vidal Gadsden Mack Alt bringing it!!
Congrats on beating a one armed Carson wentz with back up tackles
Chargers 4-0 when Alt plays and isn't injured in the 1st quarter, but fall to 1-3 without Alt. And the win is by 2 points over the 1-win Dolphins. Surely this is purely coincidental and has nothing to do with Alt being in the lineup or out with an injury, right???
Couldn't ask for a better Coach 😂
The Chargers can beat any team in the league or be beaten by any team. we just never know which team we are going to get each week. They have a history of playing down to teams they should steam roll. that's what makes the game VS the Titans so worrisome.
Butt fumble is much worse than an interception, for a QB.
This show has gotten so bad to watch. Even charger fans can admit derwin is not a DPOY candidate anymore. That was the first 3 games of the year, there’s been some drop off. Rich really doesn’t know ball, even when trying to give a compliment
The Chargers showed they should go back to the dark blue helmets and jerseys permanently!
