MNF Reaction 🔥 Seahawks & Lions improve to 5-2 after wins | SportsCenter
First, we go up to the press box and the guys who called the game along with Chris Fowler earlier, Dan Olowski and Lou Riddick. And guys, I was saying that it wasn’t their best game obviously. I mean, with four turnovers in a game, I mean, how to even win the game period. But with that being said, Lou, how would you describe what Seattle did considering how often they gave it up? Look, I think they were resourceful, right? They made the plays when they needed to make them despite the fact that they gave it up four times. They had multiple stops on fourth down on their own from the defensive side of the football, which in essence is like getting a turnover, right? Just a turnover on downs. Jackson Smith and Jigba continues to be maybe one of the best stories in the league this year. His transformation into a number one wide receiver. He makes enough plays to help them score enough points to win the football game. It’s not a pretty win, but it’s a win. Now they can get to buy, get some rest, go to work, and come back for the stretch run. When it comes to Jackson Smith in Jigba and what that defense does for a quarterback like Sam Darnold, the the concept of complimentary football, how does that help him excel to the point where he’s got this Seahawks team sitting at 5 and two? Yeah, I I would say this. I think this is an offense that really wants to be aggressive coming into tonight. It was the offense that created the most big plays pass game wise down the field. And when you got a receiver like him, you know, there’s this confidence and really like this belief that there’s nobody in the country or nobody in the the league that can cover them. And so with a defense that hunts like Seattle’s that can cover like the Seattle and stop the run like Seattle, it’s it’s not as much complimentary. It’s like let’s go chase points. Let’s be ultraaggressive knowing that okay, if there’s a takeaway or turnover, they’ll have our back. But also, if we give them the lead, then Demarcus Lawrence and Leonard Williams, they’re hunters in the pass situation. So, I’m a big believer in this football team. I don’t think they played great tonight and they dominated for the most part. Uh, and this is Super Super Bowl contending football team. There’s no question about it in my eyes. And so, now the receiver, formerly known as Jackson Smith and Jigba, aka JSN, joining us now on Sports Center. Just another light work night for you. Eight catches, 123 yards, but the little dust up on the Texans sideline feels like a solid place to start. Despite all that chaos around you, you appeared to be chilling. What was that like from your vantage point? Oh yeah, I was chilling. I was comfortable. You know, you know, two teams in the heat of the battle, you know, sometimes it gets like that, but um yeah, I felt comfortable honestly. It was all good. No, man. I respect it being able to just maintain composure because it does get a little hectic in the throws of battle, but you were able to kind of lock in and just keep it cool for everybody involved. I imagine when things get tense on that field, especially with the team being the position that they were trying to win a game, it was essential to just kind of stay cool. Yeah, 1 1000%. And you know, as you seen in the first quarter, uh I dunked the ball. I already had a flag, so you know, I had to play it smart, make sure, you know, I’m here for my team. So, I I wasn’t going to bring it up, but it did. It was the the perfect balance of being able to know when you kind of you’re at the end of your rope. Uh, but I digress. To get into your production, your third straight game with a 100 yards and a touchdown. No one’s done that in the history of the Seahawks. What’s clicked for you to reach this level this season? I would say I would give big credit to my teammates, man. Uh Sam Darnold, he’s playing elite. You know, it’s great to be out here on the field with them. Um, learning from Cooper Cup and those guys. Um, having an explosive receiver and Tory Horton and the O line doing their thing. Um, when I come out here, I don’t put a lot of pressure on myself when I know I have great guys that have my back and we’re all ready to ball out. No, man. I’m so glad that you mentioned the offense overall because y’all is humming. Sixth straight game that y’all have outgainained your opponents. How are y’all able to find so many different ways to move the ball? Man, we’re building. We’re building each and every week. Uh, we put a lot of work in in the spring and in the fall. Um, so it’s just it’s just great to see the our fruit of our labor and um, you know, out in front of these these twelves. It’s awesome, man. Best fans in the world. We just want to turn Seattle up and uh, continue to press forward. Y’all are certainly doing that, man. Putting on for the 12 indeed. We appreciate you hanging out, kicking it with us here on Sports Center JSN. Uh, best of luck down the rest of the way, man. And stay healthy. Yes, sir. Appreciate you. God bless. All right. Now, all right. All right, new on Sports Center. Other perspective from the losing team, Demo Ryan on Sports Center. Yeah, for us tonight is just overall it was just sloppy play. U there was some positive things that we did, but it was just overshadowed by the by the negative things. Offensively was not good enough. It didn’t move the ball good enough. U we got to execute better. Uh the main goal in this game was to control the front. We did not do that. Their front controlled us and uh it wasn’t good enough for us. So, we have to find a way to get better there. We got to got to score points, right? So, we got to find a way to get in the end zone. Had multiple opportunities. I just didn’t capitalize on those. Um, did you guys What was the plan going into there? Um, because obviously they ran it out and were able to kind of bring a two-minute warning. Yeah, the plan at the end of the game, we kicking the ball out of bounds so we can utilize the two-minute and had a timeout and we did not execute that. again just goes to the entire game. It’s uh you know frustrating that we’re not executing the things which we’re coached to do. You mentioned frustration from the Texans. A little different perspective from the Seahawks. Here’s Mike McDonald on Sports Center. Look, I I don’t know. I mean, I I saw the I saw them signal safety, so I thought it was a safety. Then all of a sudden, it wasn’t. So, um I’d like more of an explanation. So, that’s that’s what happened. But they I saw them signal safety. We thought it was a safety. All of a sudden, it wasn’t. Mike, it’s hard to win in the NFL. How important is resiliency have to be the importance of being resilient and over? Yeah. I mean, we they talk about picking each other up for the whole 60 minutes. I mean, these these games are absolute. I mean, these are these are hard games, you know, and and Houston’s a really good football team, so we got to pick each other up. You know, our offense picked our defense up against Tampa. We weren’t able to close it out. Um, we picked our offense up today on defense. So, it’s just that’s how it’s going to roll. Uh, that’s that’s how you have to win, you know, and then once we start to get all three phases going, you know, rolling in a games and that’s that’s when you have games where um you’re not coming down to the last possession. Listen, we did what we had to do. There’s things we got to clean up, but I tell you what, defense, you play like that, you win every game. That’s the bottom line. That’s outstanding. That’s the way to cut it loose, just like we talked about, guys. I mean, we hate losing. we always want to try to find a way to bounce back and um get back, you know, to our standards and that’s uh trying to win every game. Certainly offensively, um I don’t think tonight was was up to our standards and um now that’s not going to take away from the enjoyment of the win, but at the same time, you know, there’s a lot of things to fix right now that we need to be on top of and we will be we’ll be fine. Just doing the little things, attention to detail, you know, it’s attention to detail. When you’re in a heavyweight fight and you don’t cross your tees and dot your eyes, the other team’s going to win. Again, Dan did a great job getting his guys ready. And starting with me, I definitely have to coach it better. We got to coach it better as a staff and we got to play better. We’re sitting at 5-2 now. Um, we would have loved to have been six and one, but we’re not. We’re 5-2 and we have a short week in a divisional opponent. So, it’s it’s about singular focus. We’re going to we have to get the things corrected, especially on offense and and then move forward, but we will do that. That’s the type of group we have. and um just focus on the next thing. It’s we’re going into to week eight, so uh keep the main thing the main thing. As Mike said in that highlight, nothing but bad news out of Detroit for the Bucks. Coach Todd B said postgame that Mike Evans suffered a broken clavicle in the second quarter along with that concussion. Will miss most of the rest of the season. Obviously jeopardizes Tampa’s offensive production, but post game, coach Todd BS was much more concerned about the bigger picture. It’s never good to see one of your stars go down like that, especially with him just coming back and everybody excited to see him. So, you know, it’s it’s a tough blow, but we’ve been holding it down since he’s been gone and we just got to regroup and come back. For the team, it’s not great, but for him, I hate it. You know, it, you know, from seeing him work each day in person, um whether he’s healthy or hurt, just uh how he attacks each day, it just sucks. You know, you never like to see that. whether it’s a teammate or not, but especially when it’s Mike. So, um unfortunate. Um but guys, guys trying to step up and and play for him. That injury will have historical ramifications as well as it’ll likely end Evans’s streak of a thousand yard seasons as he’s reached the mark in each of his previous 11 since entering the league in 2014. That’s side with Jerry Rice for the longest streak in NFL history and is the longest streak by any player to start an NFL career. Ryan Clark joins us now from Detroit. RC Baker’s been a heartbreaker so many times already this season. Firmly inserted himself into the MVP conversation because of it, but the Bucks couldn’t get anything going offensively this even. What did Detroit do to disrupt them? Yeah, I think the first thing Kelvin Shepard, the defensive coordinator of the Detroit Lions, had an excellent game plan defensively. And then you start with Aiden Hutcherson, his ability to continue to put pressure on Baker throughout the four quarters of this game. And I can’t say enough about this secondary of the Detroit Lions. You’re playing with four non-starters on the back end. We see A Meek Robertson and also Arthur Mlette make amazing plays down the stretch of that second quarter to turn the football over. And then as Baker Mayfield continued to try to get things going after the Tez Johnson touchdown in the third quarter, they made play after play after play. It was constant pressure. It was great tackling in the open field and the communication and aggression of this secondary that was put together after losing many of its starters tonight was absolutely phenomenal. Yeah, Baker and Tampa will look to bounce back as they head to New Orleans next week. But I do want to pivot over to the Lions offense. They ran the ball incredibly well. Got plenty of explosives from mainly Jir Gibbs. But what does that do, that run game being so solid do for the identity for the Detroit Lions? I mean, well, here’s the thing. This is who the Detroit Lions have been under Dan Campbell, especially since acquiring both Jir Gibbs and David Montgomery. But tonight, we saw that run game be explosive again. And we hadn’t seen those big plays from Jir Gibbs where he stretches the field, goes 80 yards, runs 22 miles per hour, and then once that starts, this team is extremely difficult to stop because that leads into the play action game. But this game actually worked backwards. Think about early on in this game, the usage of Aman Ros St. Brown, the touchdown where Jacob Parish slips down. I believe the run game got started after that after Todd BS had to do so many different exotic things to try to put pressure on Jared G. So much of the exotic nature of that offense is based upon them being able to lean upon dudes on a week-toeek basis. They look to do so this evening as well. RC, appreciate you, man. Thank you, brother. Heat. Heat. [Music] [Applause] [Music]

The Detroit Lions defense was absolutely amazing tonight. And about the Texans/Seahawks: the Texans offense played like 💩 tonight. Their defense was really good, getting 4 turnovers. The Texans defense showed up in Seattle, Washington and the Texans offense decided to stay in Houston
It's crazy, the NFC West has 3 5-2 teams, while the other divisions have only 1. I guess iron sharpens iron. LFG Seattle💚💙💚💙
Seahawks defense made them Not show up, you give credit to texans defense for causing havkc on seattke, what do you think seahawks defense did to Stroud😂😂
Texans Headcoach gotta do better
Can stroud and that OLINE WAS TERRIBLE
UK 12s loved Orlovsky & RC chat & saw game @ 3am
JSN = J.Rice 2.0 & MVP 2025
JS Ninja has more yards than J.Rice after 7 games in any of Jerry's 15 seasons per CBS who were gushing in thier love 4 JSN.
Both are mid 1st rounders who started slowly & then dominated for 15 years.
Wait until JSN & Sammy D have played 15 games together (its only 7 do far)
Wait until 12s very inexperienced OL gels after the week 8 bye & 12s scary run game starts rolling.
It's Very rare to win after givng away a net -3 x Turnover's.
It proves the 12s D is NFLs best.
Big Cat = DPOY.
12s D will get a lot better when NFLs best nickel Spoon & top 10 DB J.Love return.
Give credit to how well Texan D played.
If Hawks had worn white away uniform it wud have been a much bigger win.
12s are Kings of the Road & ❤luv playing away !
Great Win ! Go LIONS!
Bake show for MVP! 56% completion🔥 1 pick and fumble💯 0-2 vs eagles and lions😤
We meed a LeBronny update
The Seahawks won by defaullt. The team that made less errors and poor play won in an ugly game.
GO 'Hawks! Weu Weu
PS: Please No More "trick" plays!
Nothing but love for Baker. We'll see him again in the playoffs
DDDDDEEETTROIT 🙌🏽💪🏽
This Seahawks defense is insane. It looks ready to go win a championship.
Seahawks offense? It's very much a work in progress, with occasional flashes of brilliance, mostly from Jaxon Smith-Njigba.
Hey Louis when is your next hit piece coming out?? Is the reason you can't get a GM job year after year because you're just incompetent or is it bc everyone in the league knows you're a spineless rat?
Take a stance against men in woman’s sports you Disney owned cowards !
I loved Hutch pushing the Tackle in Baker's front was comical to watch live.
Watch the Evans injury play in slow-mo db has his left hand around Mike's his neck and his right hand under Mike's arm, and his body on his back like a monkey. This resulted in a season ending injury. The problem is they let these guys get away with it the whole game with no penalties called. Look at it in slow mo it's total b***
Don't hide the 1-13 on long passes graphic 😭 7:13
Lions fan here with all the respect for Bowles, Baker and these Bucs.
