Wow always great to hear people say nice things about the Wings, but top 5 overall draft is pretty sweet!
I was hoping they’d have something to say about Palmer, the last pick. Right out of high school, he was described in a scouting report I saw as another super compete guy with a strong mother and good leadership, but really raw. I guess he’s a dart throw so not much else to say, but could be another dark horse.
This draft will be really interesting to follow in the coming years.
We’re going to be tough to play against in a few years. I thought we were making strides in that direction for this year until the Islanders game, hopefully we can get it back on track.
This draft class and the deep pool we have are setting the floor for effort and tenacity. At this point I don’t see any vets outside of what we know as core pieces getting another contract with this team. Once our team is full of these guys it will just be about getting another 1-2 high end pieces into the mix one way or another to see how high we can push the ceiling. I don’t see how we don’t become a regular playoff team though with the way we’ve drafted.
