I can’t believe it either. After years of watching our qb play through injuries, it’s refreshing to see a coach prioritize a player’s long-term health over one game, especially with a backup as solid as Kirk Cousins. It’s a smart move that shows the front office is serious about protecting our franchise QB
This is smart and why Kirk is being paid so much

Controversy abound no matter how this goes. However in development for a qb not a bad thing at all to get him out of harms way for a little bit so he can recalibrate.

I know the Falcons are going to try and be super conservative and run the Dolphins to death, which makes sense. I want to see them let Kirk sling it one last time though. With the possibility of a contract with another team next year, I fully expect him to be locked in for a random October game lmao.
Who knows, maybe it could be the Dolphins themselves that sign him with how Tua has played and how fragile he is.
Kirk was playing solid last year before the injury. I mean he threw for 500 against TB and we were 6-3. He should have just told people he was injured and couldnt play. Letting penix sit and continue to learn behind a vet while he heals is great in my book. Especially with a history of knee injuries. Hopefully Kirk doesnt completely shit the bed and someone may actually trade for him by next year. Im sure hes got a vengeance to earn a starting spot somewhere at this point. Especially with some of the QB’s that are starting around the league right now. Hopefully Zac rob gets his play calling figured out and puts Kirk under center instead of this pistol bullshit
