Hugo Gonzalez NBA Debut Highlights vs New York Knicks (6 pts, 4 reb, 2 stl) | 2025-26 NBA Season

straight years had not come off the bench once. Now coming off the bench here, but he’s the go-to guy in his second unit instead of having to share with those three starters in the first unit. Gonzalz, first NBA bucket for the rookie from Spain, Hugo Gonzalez back in. He started his NBA career with Boston and a foul called as the Celtics were trying to run and knew where he was going with the ball as soon as he got it. Brown and Hower the high scorers for Boston. 15 apiece. 19 for Brunson, 18 for Towns for New York. We approach three minutes to go in this third quarter. Kolic peaks at the clock. Four to shoot. Trying to make it happen. Brown there defensively. Gonzalez gets a piece and it’s going to be a shot clock violation. It should never have switched. You didn’t hear the buzzer sound because they switched the shot clock in what they thought was a change of possession, but the ball was still up for grabs. Too hard ahead for Shemmit cutter. Yasle and once again, it’s Gonzalez throwing his body around for Boston. All right, I’m I’m falling in love with Yugo Gonzalez. Swing it. Simons. Gonzalez turns the corner and flips it in. Yugo Gonzalez who shows flashes of them at the rim. Nice drive by Yugo Gonzalez. There’s White outside. 10 to shoot. Gets the screen from Buché. And then White takes the angle. Gonzalez crashing the boards and he gets the tough bucket. Well, his efforts been tremendous tonight. obviously has made a big impact just with his effort in athleticism. Six points, three rebounds in 13 minutes in his NBA debut. 19-year-old Yugo Gonzalez

Statline: 6 pts (3-6 FG, 0-2 3PT), 4 reb, 1 ast, 2 stl in 23 minutes

  1. I'm hoping Hugo is one of those few international players who has a solid career, like a Tony Parker/Manu Ginobili. I mean if he somehow has a Luka/Jokic upside, we'll take that too lol. But again, just a solid player would be amazing.

  2. Hugo was one of the few bright spots last night his defensive pressure and his tough mindset i was impressed with at only 19 years old, we in New York against a team that embarrassed last year in the playoffs without our best player yet Hugo was ballin I like what I saw from the kid he deserves more minutes!!

  3. Spanish is one of the most spoken languages in the world and, unlike English, has clear rules of pronunciation. Is it so difficult to learn that the "u" is always the same — just "u", not "eu", "iu", or "ou"? And the "h" in Spanish is always silent — like in Hugo. On the other hand, the "z" always sounds like the English "th". So, something like Gonthaleth.

  4. Let the young boy play man! This is exactly what Joe was talking about. Mistakes will be made by it shouldn’t be due to lack of effort. Hugo played with his tail on fire.

  5. His phisical conditions are good in general.

Plays good of the ball and have same plays, moves and tricks with it.

Make good decisionsa and has good vision on the court.

In general term plays with hight basketball iq, defensily and ofensive, very European style.

Is all round player, his favorite player is Rudy Fernandez and plays like him a litle bit.

It has little hype but has stood out more in lower categories A LOT as a european great talent of his generation.

Educated at Real Madrid, the European team, accustomed to winning and competing at the highest level and working with high levels of demand.

It seems he will be a good player and a good teammate. I don't know if he will be a starter in the NBA, but he does seem like a good bench player.

    Problems:

Three point range are still in progress.

Are you lacking a little talent?

Looks like a good player in general but in Madrid does not give him too much minutes. Unfairly in the opinion of all experts

He's a very young boy and needs minutes. If he gets them after last season in Spain with few opportunities, he'll have tremendous merit.

    Fresh Feedback From Madrid.
