I know it’s early and we just want to enjoy the ride but there’s some tough decisions coming. Some guys are an obvious lock but I wouldn’t be surprised if a lot of guys don’t come back. Hope we go all the way this year cause this team is lightning is a bottle. Just a little bye week discussion about something that I’ve been thinking about.
BY and Puka would be priority. I would argue for Ethan Evans too, but punter deals don’t take up much cap space.
Turner and Avila if deal is right.
5-6 of those dudes have earned a second contract.
– Puka will reset the market(if he wants to).
– Kobie and Byron will both get top 15 APY contracts.
– Avila will probably get top 30 APY money.
– McClendon will end up being a prove it deal.
– Stetson is gonna be interesting.
I hope non of them take the bag n see the bigger picture take decent money your in LA your gonna make money outside the contract n compete for the ring
Best GM in the league suffering from success with this draft class.
+Starter offensive Guard
+Starter Edge Rusher
+Starter DT and Captain.
Backup OT playing well with his reps.
Puka fucking Nacua.
Jacked Punter.
I ain’t even going to have the discussion about who we should be paying it’s too complicated, ima leave that one for Les.
It’s crazy how well Snead drafted that year. Depending on what happens with McLendon next year, there might legit be 6 starters here.
I think Kobie, Puka, Ethan Evans, BY shouldn’t leave the building. Avila, I’m not 100% on due to injuries, but given how difficult it is to find good O-Line, I’d be interested in giving him the contract at a reasonable price.
Puka for sure
BY for sure
Kobie probably
Puka will take whatever deal is offered just so he can stay close to LeBron 🤣
Honestly puka is the only priority to extend right away as the longer you wait to more expensive he gets.
Steve, KT, Puka for sure.
Byron idk what the plan is, could see him getting a nice little extension, or could see them letting him walk. Josiah Stewart getting more snaps makes me think they might not be planning on extending BY.
EE, Allen, and Mclendon are my other 3 maybes.
Allen- Higbee is also out of contract, if they’re going TFerg TE1, DA is a nice TE2.
Evans- punting hasn’t been an issue, we need one anyway so why fix what ain’t broke
Mclendon- I don’t think anyone will pay him starting OT money. If someone wants to give him a 1 year starting deal he will prob be gone, but if he’s getting depth tackle money anyway I’d bet we keep him
BY and Puka need to happen now. I’d be cool with the rest being after the 4th year.
I expect that Young this season will have played himself out of our price range. Puka is the bigger priority and we’ll need space for Verse moving forward.
