NHL Highlights | Islanders vs. Flyers – October 25, 2025

Ready to go. The Flyers getting this fivegame home stand. Now Mishkoff will play it around to Couturier. Couturier for Connectians. Shot was blocked. Comes back to D. Mechov into the slot. Tip and was well marked. Take it away to twoonone developing fire trying to get back. The pass to Homestrom. Homestrom moving up the shot. He scores. Shorthanded goal for Simon Holmstrom. And the Islanders get the first one. It felt like to me the Flyers were trying, you know, the set play that they wanted to get the puck to tip it in the middle of the ice. And he gets the feed. It’s like his mind’s made up. He wanted to go to tip it. Clearly, he was covered. I think from Mishkov, if he can get that puck, get it to the net. It doesn’t lead to this. And the Islanders go the other way. And Holstrom with a real good shot to the short side over the all the way around behind. Islanders back to full strike. Tippet to the point. Drydale. Drydale shot. Safe. Rebound. Connect stopped in front and then it’s poked to the wall. Drydale will keep it in. Sikas with the puck ahead to Mlan. Sikas and Hway. Now Mayfield comes over and he has to drop the gloves. Haway and Mayfield. And Hway has the right hand. Free goes over the top. Rips his helmet off. And he got a right hand in. And then great job. Very quickly the linesman jump in. And there is a massive cut time ahead but I think it was needed there in that period. Absolutely. Noah Kates telling Ashlin that definitely gets the team going. So the second period gets going as Travis Connectney moved it in up the wall through Horvat. Jules turning but flying into the zone is Lee. He and Dale after this puck. It bounces free and Jules is there. Reverses but it hits the referee. bounces to Duclair in front for Lee and he was checked. Now a shot in front. They score. Duclair ends up with a slam dunk as Marshall Warren will get his first NHL point on the assist. Two. See Jules here trying for the reverse. Goes off the official. It would have gone right to Dale and that would have pretty much been a a nothing play. Instead, the play goes out in front. The Islanders able to retrieve it and a heck of a play by Marshall Warren. I mean, what a pass in your first NHL game. The vision to find Duclair on the back door. Not sure if he saw him or if he’s just trying to get it towards the net. You know, D’vorak. Oh, almost Meech Goff. See for a two-on-one, but again, the puck didn’t go through. D’vorak’s got it now to Mech across for Ziggress. Zagris centering it in front and D’vorak scores. Ziggress another top-notch spot. D’vorak the payoff. Flyers are on the board. It’s two to one. The entry into the zone. And from there you can see Ziggress head is up and he knows that D’vorak who started the play in the zone was driving that back post. You can see Ziggress, he almost like looks him off. Looks the defenders off and puts it right in the wheelhouse for D’vorak. That is a real tough play for a goalender cuz you don’t know if D’vorak’s going to either just redirect it right on goal. Flyers win the draw to get this third period underway. Even strength hockey to start the third. Owen Tippet looks for and finds pressure. Mechov fires it back out, but that’s going to go to center. Disdale has to rotate back to get to it. The pass to Ziggress handing off the roaring in check. Bats at the puck. Got it back to Z with the chip. He scores. And there it is. Number one in the orange and black for Trevor Zris. And the game is tied at two. It was Ziggress who was able to find D’vorak on a beautiful play in the second period. This time it’s D’vorak doing the distributing as he’s able to drive deep, kick it back to Ziggress who was wide open and you could see how deep Sroen was in the net. That opened up the far side of the net and Ziggress has his first as a flyer caught offside. And then we get a little gathering. Grabbank and Sikas. Grabbank not taking anything from the veteran. And then Haway still Hornery and Mayfield as they get together for a second time. I I think Haway is lucky here that that Obles and Mlan remain in the box. off the draw. Islanders control shot. They score. Warren firing from the point. It appeared to change direction on the way in, but I think it’s Warren’s goal. And he now has his first NHL goal to go along with his first NHL assist in his first NHL game. 32 Islanders. We’ll see the faceoff win for the Islanders. And you can see the scrum bodies in front of the net. That is going to be Silicop’s goal. Yeah. Wonder why they went and got the puck. Well, I the way Warren celebrated it, it led you to believe that he had the goal, but back to Ziggress in the other corner. Now Ziggress out to the circle. Alone. Kates didn’t handle that one. It’s Brick getting to it. Now Brick turns toward the net. Brick fires. Save. rebound. Save Zroken off of Zris. They continue to dick. They score. They’re all digging away. It’s a power play goal and the Flyers have tied it at three. Take your pick on who got the goal. I’m just going to go downhill and rip this puck on net. Rebounds there. Zris and Brink arrive on the scene and a good job by the officials to recognize that that puck is loose. You can see clear as day. That might be Brick’s goal. I don’t know if Kates touches this before it ever gets in the net. You can just see it kind of slowly moving in. Going to be hard to tell whether it’s Brink or Zegris. More importantly, the Islanders are looking at this push for goalend interference. So, let’s see. That’s okay. Brink makes contact with him, but Well, he makes contact being pushed in, I believe. And he’s going for the puck. Now, you can’t push the pad of the goalender either. You can’t intentionally push the pad or kick the pad to jar the puck loose. Doesn’t look like they’re going to look at it. And the puck behind him and rams it off glass to center. Tip it grabbed by Horvat. And Horvette gets the puck set in. Oh, what a save by Ericson. He robbed Dul ties it up and you need a save. Should have been a penalty there on Horvette. No doubt yet the play goes on. It’s a twoon one. And that backhand pass had some zip on it. It was not one of those slow passes. So Harrison had to really do a good job of getting across and he absolutely robs Jonathan Druan. Go a to the puck. Ables wins the battle. It went off a stroke and back to it. There’s a shot from Hatway deflected up off the safety netting. Flyers fourth line gets a try late in regulation. had just about everything. JJ, first overtime of the year for the Islanders. Flyers in their third overtime. One and one in games decided in the overtime thus far. Here’s Tyson Forester right up the right wing and will get the puck. Too many had four players on the ice. Puck bounces free. Here’s Drew. The pass, the shot, and with a spectacular save. Watch one go for a change. Here’s four. I mean, as clear as day, that should have been blown down, but it doesn’t happen. And then Erson has to come up with just a beautiful save here on Bo Horvat. They’ll have to rush now. And then connecting goes in ahead of the play. The Flyers play it back out. Barcelona out as he rifles one wide and overtime comes to an end. Brink picks up the puck and heads on it deliberately. up forward. Taking his time and Sroken knocks it down, but Sroen simply doesn’t. And look where he is and he he’s at the top of the crease there. He doesn’t bite. He remained aggressive. All right, here we go. Ziggress 13 for 21. He was two for three last year. He’s really doawling his way in. Now he cuts to the middle and scores. He makes it look easy. It is a skill. I mean the stick handles so you don’t know when he’s going to pull the trigger. That’s the tough part. 14 of 22 at his career. Now Holmstrom who’s two for six in from the left wing sneaks and scores. Beautiful move by Homestöm to tie the shootout at one to his backhand. You got to respect it because he he sells it so hard and then he puts the brakes on for I mean three for seven is in from the right wing and scores. 2-1 fires in the right side because the stick and the puck see the far side of the net. If you put it over the pad underneath the blocker, it’s Anthony Duclair must score to keep this one going. Four for 21 in his career. Declare cutting in. Deerson crashed into bylair, but he keeps the puck out and the Flyers win the game.

Trevor Zegras led the way with a three-point effort, Christian Dvorak recorded a goal and an assist, and Matvei Michkov buried the eventual shootout winner to lead the Philadelphia Flyers to a 4-3 victory over the New York Islanders.
