Guys, Jesse, one month of Good Leafs hockey after say five year in Detroit’s uh case 10 year playoff absence would be enough to be on my ass 5 years into the eer plan. Has the Yzerplan been a smashing success? No. Was Detroit god awful and locked into terrible contracts? Yes! The Yzerplan hasn't failed!! This was always meant to be a 5-6 year project.

This is so prosperous. He’s made some horrendous trades, no excuses for that. But they’ve drafted insanely well and Yzerman’s taken a franchise that Kenny Holland absolutely annihilated and built one of the most exciting young cores in the NHL. Again, no excuse for the bad deals, but they’ve drafted so well that you cannot possibly argue it’s been a failure.
