Warsofsky Says This Was Sharks’ Best Game of Season, Needs More From Goaltending
Right. You know, you guys had a good start to this game, but there’s still some critical mistakes from a coach’s perspective. How frustrating is it to play so well, but still have those Yeah, it’s the way it’s going right now, right? You know, one, you know, the big mistake was the fourth goal, a line change, and that’s what’s going on right now. We’re making one drastic mistake. It’s in the back of the net, and that’s ultimately costing us the game. So, you know, I thought this was probably our most complete game of the year. I liked our effort. We had some scoring good scoring chances. I think we only had them for nine chances against five on five. Those are wins, you know, more more times than not. So, you just got to keep plugging away. That third line of Misa, Graph, and Godette looked like it had a lot of good chemistry and obviously Misa gets his first point and and Graph has. Talk us through how you thought that line played. It just looked like they weren’t out of place at all. Yeah, I thought really I thought all our lines were pretty good. Um, but yeah, you know, we had them in the offensive zone quite a bit. that those guys skill came out. Obviously in the goal there he makes a nice play and that’s what you know that’s what he does. So hopefully that gets him confident. It’s a late goal in the in the first period a bit deflecting I mean deflating for the team there just the seconds left and yeah but the morale in the in the room is has been on the bench was really good. So you never want to give up a goal late in a period. Um so again continue to to work with our our guys and you know keep plugging away at this. So, I don’t think we’re far off. What were the struggles on the power play? I mean, clearly we had three opportunities tonight. Yeah, you know, we’ll have to go back and look at it. We made some adjustments there. Had a couple good looks in the in the third on the power play. Um, you know, I think we got to get more in front of the goalender, make his job a little bit more difficult. Um, you mentioned, uh, not a lot of chances against, four goals allowed. Does your goalender need to be better? Yeah, I think you know and I think Asie would say that himself you know um he’s a competitive guy you know you look at it so Roken makes that save on Ekkund and Mack in the six on five they got the save um I think he he did respond he had a good second and third period um but we also have to continue to work with this young man uh he knows that we know that and and this is part of the the process it’s been a tough start to the season for him what’s going to help him get out of this um slump yeah he’s just got to keep working with promise. Um, and and just keep battling and grinding and getting better. Um, you got to get better every single day, even if it’s just 1%. Let’s get better every day and learn from it and move on. So, um, he’s got the right temperament. He’s he’s a competitive kid. Um, but we obviously need more from from both goalenders and uh, going forward. Glenny, you know, we we asked him just what happened on that fourth goal. You mentioned that was big critical mistake. What did you see from his game tonight? Just looked like he stepped low. He said he should have pushed up that high. What did you see on that fourth goal for maybe the the coverage of it? So much on leads. It’s more of our line change. What about the line change? Was the communication issue? What went wrong there? No, he shouldn’t change in that in the second period. You shouldn’t have a change like that. What about on the Sikas’s goal? What do you think where the breakdown was there? Yeah, I go back and watch it. You know, I think we’re behind the net there. Um, and I think we whack it. I think Dicki whacks it. So, a young man making a a mistake in a fast game. So, we’re going to continue to work with him uh with his puck decisions and and balance of the ice and angles and and what have you, but um he did also did some really good things on the flip side of it. So, um we made some young mistakes in areas tonight um and very minimum mistakes really uh where you know a lot of times you win these games and um but it is what it is. That’s the result. We got to live with it. What do you thought about that play where he sort of gloved the puck from the air which led to that goal by Yeah, Dick. He did again, he did some good things. Kept that puck alive. Has a really good chance there. I think it was Smitty on the rush. Um he gets up in the rush. You can see he’s getting more and more comfortable. So, um we’re seeing progress. We got to clean up some things. And it’s funny like you feel for the kid because he makes maybe one mistake and ends up in the back of your net. You know, nothing against Schaefer, but he probably makes some mistakes and they don’t end up in the back of his net. That’s just the way it’s going right now. So, he’ll learn from it and we’ll continue to work with him. Um, Misa is a sister. Is that nice to see just a example of his skill and do you feel like uh the pace is he’s getting better with the pace? Yeah, for sure. And I think it’s confidence. You know, these guys live on the score sheet since they were probably eight years old and they want to be on the score sheet. So, that helps, you know, overall confidence and and again, that’s what he does. He can make plays. We’ve seen that a little bit, you know, and got to continue to work with him as well. I know your focus is on the Sharks, but just Matthew Schaefer arguably his best game is what do you see as an opposing coach? I mean, it looks like he’s on the ice the entire game. Dynamic. Uh he can make plays, you know, I thought was impressive. His whatever it was minute left in the game, he’s on the ice and so he’s getting the trust from the coaches and his teammates. So, he’s going to have a bright future. I’m glad he’s out east. Big picture. I know you’re frustrated, but do you always feel like these last two games are, you know, pushing in the right direction? Yeah, absolutely. Um, absolut we certainly today was probably I think our most complete game. Uh, even probably better than Vegas in a sense. We we were had some really good looks in the offensive zone. It’s going to start going and it’s going to start turning. We’re going to stick together. It’s tow the group after stick together and just keep getting better and just get a little bit better tomorrow and be ready to get our first one in MSG. Okay. Thanks. Thanks. Thanks, coach.

Did Muk die? Why on earth is Leddy allowed on the ice?
Let Misa play coach!
Stop splitting games with the goalies, just make Askarov the permanent backup.
SHAVE YOUR HEAD, WARSO!
Will he get canned ,if they go 0-13-3, ?
