Buffalo Sabres at Toronto Maple Leafs | FULL Overtime Highlights – October 25, 2025

Maple Leafs have had a huge advantage. 7030 in the dot department. So Matthews is going to come out here and try to win the draw, keep control, and start things off from there. He’s gone 14 and six. So 70% for Matthews. You probably won’t see Nick overtime, but you might have for the first face off since he’s 10 and one. Yeah, but he’s not taking it. That’s an interesting call. And the faceoff was won by Ryan Mloud. First possession going to Buffalo and Alex tuck on the ice with Mloud and Dene weaving in and a chance here for Dalene and it’s blocked and McWah there to make the block. Oh, he’ll hit off. Dene takes a look. Got it to Mloud. Back to Dene. It jumped his stick. So nice out there with Matthews now. Mloud finds Dolin again downhill and he missed the mark. Pretty good look. He slaps his stick as he heads to the Buffalo bench. Well, they get some mobile guys for three on three back there with Dalene, Byum, and Power available. Gage Thompson now out on the ice as Matthews goes to the bench and John Tamarz comes on and Matthew Ny has some room. Here’s NY down that left flank. Ecman Lorson’s come on. N with a move on Thompson to Tvaris and he’s checked and back the other way goes Quinn and Thompson. Jack Quinn and the path broken up. Power over skates the puck as he had a clear break. Now the other way. It’s a breakaway. John Tamaris scores 499. It’s a game winner. John Tvaris with the game winner in overtime after Buffalo looked like they were having a chance to close it up. You know, three on three. You make a turnover in the offensive zone. Man, it’s going back the other way. And it looks like the Sabres were going to get a beautiful opportunity. A back pass that goes arai here. It’s Tamaris who gets stripped. A twoon-one desperation coming back. Look at Owen Power ends up with this one and loses control completely. Matthew Ny with a heads up play. No panic. Quick pass. Good acceleration and just a wicked wister up and over the blocker side. Look at Tamar take a quick peek and he beats Lucan into that short side. Up and over. A point back to great defensive play. A good read by Matthew Knives and then all alone. And Tate Thompson had been on the ice 51 seconds and he couldn’t catch John. So one away from 500. But tonight he celebrates his 19th career overtime goal. Leafs win it 4-3. Time for Montreal in Vancouver.

  1. I would actually prefer the leafs without showman nylander.. get another hard nosed, hard working player.. its not as shiny as nylander. But willie is not doing any defensive work.. no ethic of never give up.

Leafs will be fine.. but what to do with #34

  2. the sabers have a 2 one 1 i'll advised pass gets right on powers stick by chance in prime real estate… and he doesnt even get a shot off.
thompson is frozen like a deer in headlights when he should be getting back and the leafs get a breakaway.
holy s**t that was vomit inducing and we still could have won it multiple times tonight.

  3. Well, I’m disappointed my Sabres lost (especially that dumb play in ot by Power) but at the same time I’m happy we got a point out of this and our offense looked great again. I know they’ve only played 3 away games but hopefully they will get an away win soon. Back to work boys.
