POSTGAME SOUND: CHICAGO BULLS VS. ORLANDO MAGIC | COACH MOSE, ANTHONY BLACK & PAOLO BANCHERO

Coach, uh, how how much did the turnovers disrupt your rhythm on on both ends tonight? Ton between turnovers and and missed shots at the rim. You know, you give them what it says on the stat sheet, 22 fast break points, but it’s probably more than that just because, you know, they were on the break as we were missing shots. Love the fact that we were getting there, but now we’ve got to talk about what we’ve, you know, said from training camp, being able to convert our our defensive stops into offense. You guys only made three three-pointers tonight. One for the first three quarters and not a single in the fourth. Just how was that? How do you explain what happened from beyond the arc tonight? Uh, you know, some part of it is it’s a make or miss league in that regard. I thought we got some great looks. Um, but those are parts where you got to step in and knock them down. You know, you give Chicago credit for the way they were flying around. Uh, but again, that that’s no excuses there. You know, we’ve got to step in, knock shots down. We’ve got to attack the basket and and finish with force and authority. How do you guard against frustration if if you are getting the looks that you want and and kind of playing at the the speed that you want or how do you how do you fight against frustration that that it’s not the process isn’t working yet? Process. You said the best word, process. If we weren’t getting great looks and we weren’t getting to the rim, then there’s something to talk about. But the fact that we were getting downhill, touching the paint, getting in the paint, we’ve just got to focus on finishing now. And that’s work that we can put in in the gym. Uh those are extra shots, extra reps. Uh working on our finishing that those are pieces that we can continue to get better at. Then make sure that that frustration doesn’t in in the game in the moment bleed into the defense. You know, defense seemed like kept the kept them in the kept you guys in the game to a certain point, but but at some but at some point it it kind of cracked. Yeah, it’s a resilient team. you know, understand that you’re not it’s not going to be your night every night from the shot making side, but the ability to sit and make sure we got to sit down and get stops and that’s what got us back in it. We strung a couple shots together, but then you go down there, you don’t convert it, it does take a toll, but for our guys understanding that, knowing that it’s it’s something we can look at and then we’ll fix. Chase got his first minutes tonight and it came at a time during the game where it seemed like there was an upward trajectory for you guys. What did you make of his minutes at the that he had? Yeah, he just came in with a a great amount of energy. Uh he he approaches the game every single day with a with a level of joy uh to just be on the floor and I thought that was great for him. You know, you saw you heard the crowd when he checked in the game and then we you know, we needed that energy tonight and I think he provided that. Uh he’s not afraid of that moment and again it’s it’s the opportunity that he was ready to step into. just kind of expanding on on going to Jace at that point. How much how much are you still trying to get a feel for the right lineups and rotations, especially with Jaylen going to be in and out of the lineup for the early part of the season? Well, I think you talked about this pregame. Um, and I just do believe that as the beginning of the year starts, you’re looking at rotation, what works on different time, different teams, different times. Uh, we went big for a moment. You know, that worked for a second. But there’s just going to be a way to look at different lineups. Each team is doing this for these first few games until something sticks. And for us, it’s going to keep fluctuating because of, you know, we we’re going to need that for our guys to be ready to step into each moment. What What do you think didn’t work tonight for Taius? It just felt like he didn’t he wasn’t able to score tonight. I thought Taius, you know, I I think he he started to set the tone early for our guys. I think we were getting out in transition. We were moving it. We were sharing it. Uh again, for for that moment, it wasn’t about what he was not providing. It was more saying, you know what, can Jayce get a moment here and which he provided that spark in that moment and I thought that was good for us. You guys talked so much about defending home court backtoback losses at home. What what do you want to see when you guys go on the road? Now, you know, come together and, you know, go win win one on the road. It starts in, you know, starts in Philly and that’s what we got to make sure we take care of that first. How much it’s early in the season, this is your first backtoback. How much does fatigue and getting into full-time playing time, you think, factor into some of the really misses that were right at the rim? I think that may play some part, but we’re not going to make any excuses about that. That’s just something we’ve got to work on. We’ve got to concentrate, understand the work that we need to put in there and and get back into the gym and get back to the the workload and make sure that that that’s something we’re concentrating on. You love to start the season at home, but you’ve got a five-game road trip. What can the value of that bring at this point in the season? Yeah, I think it brings the group together. You know, there’s camaraderie within at the hotel, going to dinner, spending time on the road with one another. I think that’s very important for this group who’s already who already close. Uh but I think that is very important going into an opposing gym and being able to come together to get the job done. Thank you all. Appreciate it. AB, you know, how much did the team’s collective turnovers uh hurt you guys tonight and and prevent you from kind of getting in a rhythm on either end of the floor? Um, a lot. You know, when uh when you turn the ball over, it just gives teams chance to get layups, uh open threes, dunks, just things that uh that take energy away from your team. So, um, 20 turnovers, uh, is is unacceptable. We’re not going to win no games like that. So, you guys turned it over a lot last night as well. Just what’s the conversation like in the locker room after two home losses? Uh, just trying to figure it out. Uh, you know, it’s early in the season. Um, it’s too early to overreact, but, uh, it’s just conversation going on, trying to figure out, uh, what it is. Obviously, we’re playing a lot faster, so we expect to be turning over a little bit, but uh yeah, we just we just probably got to make quicker decisions um and take care of the ball. There’s a lot of shots missed at the rim that can lead also lead also to run outs. What needs to to maybe change or or what needs to happen to finish better and make better decisions around around the rim and in the paint? I think, you know, uh it’s easy to make excuses um back to back. uh you know guys are tired uh it’s you know a second night uh versus a team that runs a lot but we do got to be better at the rim uh like you said those lead to layups those are deflating plays uh when we run good actions and we just don’t make bunnies at the rim so uh those are definitely two things we could fix that uh it’s just on us making layups and uh taking care of the ball. Jay was able to get in tonight. Just what did you make of his minutes and maybe the spark he provided a little bit there? Uh yeah, I mean he he brought great energy, you know, he was he was ready to play. Uh he was locked in the whole game. So uh obviously coach trusted uh trusted him to put him in as we did. So uh it was good to have him out there. He got to the rim, got to the free throw line, uh he shot the right shots. So um you know, first first showing that’s pretty good. Uh making all the right plays, being in the right place, and uh just just bringing energy, bringing a spark. How do you how do you prevent frustration from the turnovers, the the missed shots, and the three-point shooting was a problem again tonight? How do you prevent the frustration from leading over to the defense or from keeping you from executing offensively? Uh yeah, it’s just something we got to do. Um we got to move on. Uh you know, we’re going to turn the ball over. Uh it’s part of basketball. It’s part of playing fast. And obviously, we’re going to miss shots. So, um yeah, we just we just got to do a better job moving on. Uh being in the right position to make the defensive stop after we do those two things is another thing we got to get better at. Got five games on the road coming up. What’s what’s the value in going on the road for a long time this early in the season? I think just getting a taste of the road environment. Um just playing, you know, away from home is good. Uh it’s an area we’ve struggled in, you know, the last couple years. So, uh we’re looking to be better there this year. Uh like you said, we got five games coming up. So, uh, we’re just looking to come together. It’s a road trip. Uh, we’re going to spend a lot of time together. Uh, figure figure this thing out and get back in the win column. Sir, Pete, h how costly were the collective turnovers tonight and how difficult did they make it to get into a rhythm on either end of the floor? Uh, yeah. I mean, anytime you have 20 plus turnovers, uh, it’s going to be hard to win and, uh, yeah, definitely slowed us down. How much of an effort did you make to get started going early after last night on on offense specifically? Uh, I mean, I’m just out there trying to pick my spots. Uh, made some shots early. Um but obviously tailed off second half. So um yeah, with with the team as a whole struggled offensively both to shoot from the perimeter and as well in in in the paint, how do you prevent frustration or how do you kind of combat that and and overcome that? I mean I think it’s just playing better, making our shots. Uh you know, when when you’re not making shots, you know, nobody’s really really happy or in a good good mood. So, uh, just think, you know, we got to do a better job of scoring the ball. What’s what’s the communication between you guys when maybe you’re going through some of those ruts and you had kind of one last last night as well. What’s the communication like to to kind of get yourself out of it? Yeah, just got to come together as a team and, you know, figure it out. uh five on the court, you know, got to band together and um just uh you know, try to figure it out. After last season around this time of the year, this when you had the oblique injury, how much now that you’re starting a new season, how much more of an emphasis are you putting on, you know, healing the body, especially after a backtoback? Yeah, uh you know, definitely definitely trying to get my rest and recovery. um not thinking although I’m not trying to think about the injury you know it’s in behind me it’s in the past and uh but you know um yeah rest and recovery is always important Pete it’s early in the season it’s only game three excuse me uh new players added to the mix a new emphasis on pushing the ball how much you think just time together more games will help you guys solidify what you’re trying to do yeah I mean like you said it’s early uh two tough losses, you know, just got to stick with it. Um just stick with it. What needs to happen on this road trip five games away for you guys maybe to get on track? Uh just got to figure out what works for us, you know. Uh I think at times, you know, it looks clunky out there and uh we just got to figure out, you know, what we’re trying to do. you guys face the Philadelphia 76ers next. Um, what’s the game plan? Uh, I’m not sure yet. I got to watch the film and uh, yeah, I got to watch the film, but obviously they got talented guards, Maxi and the rest. And then, uh, if Embiid’s playing, you know, you got to deal with him. So, uh, those guys are definitely top of the scal report. Thank you.

  1. Offense schemes look the same. The same old pnr. Did you see Chicago offense? That was basic and it still was better than ours. Get it together Coach and magic team. Bane looks lost on offense. Paolo doesn't know how to play fast. Tyus looks like he's party of the scary Terry tyrad.

  2. Paolo Banchero is 6'10" 250 lbs, why is he playing with like a guard?

Coach Moseley has lost the locker room, the player's body language makes it obvious!😢

  3. Coach Mo is mediocre no improvement what so ever still turnover the ball way to often the worst 3 point shooting team for the last 2-3 years horrible game and player management complaining to the officials every timeout the list could go on ! Name me one thing Coach has changed this season because the defensive that made this team dogs has disappeared and the shooting hasn't improved ?

  4. I think magic fans may be the worst in the league when it comes to jumping straight to wanting the coach fired the moment things aren’t going well. Y’all need to RELAX or go find another team to root for.

  5. Coach Mosley is going to let Wendell Carter get him fired šŸ”„ I can already tell .. this guy is not even running on the court. He’s jogging and the coach is not saying anything. He’s setting screens at mid court, like what the hell is going on???

  6. Coach Mosley is going to let Wendell Carter get him fired šŸ”„ I can already tell .. this guy is not even running on the court. He’s jogging and the coach is not saying anything. He’s setting screens at mid court, like what the hell is going on???

  7. They are not listening to this coach because he has no discipline. They can do whatever they want make all the mistakes with no fear of getting put on the bench that’s why they play like that. I mean this team is actually missing free throws. I mean free throws that should be absolutely unacceptable but the coach Seems to don’t either care because he’s not making them work on free throws. At least I mean this is very, very questionable about what’s going on. I never see him pull a player over to him and tell them what to do and what not to do.

  8. This coach should be fired! He let that Banchero the whole 4th quarter being the ball handler, playmaker, or point guard! I mean Desmond Bane and Jones are there for a reason, it's becase they need a point guard and that Banchero was getting the ball all 4th quarter and everytime he has the ball it's a 1on1 game he cant pass the ball and he kwpt shooting bricks. Orlando organization should fire this coach!
