Cole Schwindt Back in Florida Panthers Lineup for First Time Since 2022, Faces Former Team

Yeah. Uh, you know, I’m obviously pumped. I think, um, you know, kind of come getting to come back and and play in the arena that, uh, you know, I played my first game. It, you know, it kind of feels like a full circle moment. Uh, and I’m really excited for it. And to have it be against that team on the on the other side, does that add a little extra to it for you? Yeah, you know, I think that adds a little bit of motivation. Uh, but again, it’s just another hockey game and um, got to go out and and just play my game. And for you, you’ve been around long enough to have taught yourself. What’s the way to just get yourself ready, get yourself up to game speed, acclimated to the lineup, everything like that? Yeah, you know, I think it just starts with the first shift. Um, go in with a good mindset and um, you know, try to just get off to to a good start right right off the start of the game. Been a few years since that debut. How different are you as a player now? Yeah. No, I feel like I’ve I’ve definitely learned a lot. I think um, kind of been around the block a little bit and um, gotten to play in some different cities and uh, learned a lot about myself. um you know, kind of the way that I deal with ups and ups and downs of a year and um you know, kind of try to stay levelheaded through everything and being around for a few weeks with in practice and being able to watch the first handful of games, just what stands out about Panthers style and how do you feel like you’re going to be able to fit in? Yeah, obviously this is a highpowered offensive team and um you know, we’re very good at shutting things down in the Dzone as well and um I’m just happy to be part of it and um looking forward to getting out there with them tonight. Obviously, you were gone for a little bit, but Kai’s been around kind of at camp learning system. Did you ask him any questions or he helped you out at all with this transition? Obviously, he’s got some inside knowledge. Yeah, it kind of went both ways. Um, you know, for I was here before him, so he asked me the questions when when he first got here and now it’s the other way around. So, um, you know, it’s good to to kind of reconnect with him that way. Um, you know, we’re so close and, um, you know, it was, uh, it was a great phone call to get from him when he found out the news and, um, he was just super excited to be back in the same organization. Thanks for

Schwindt was reacquired by the Panthers when they claimed him off waivers from the Golden Knights earlier this month. Schwindt was a third-round pick of the Panthers in 2019 and played three games for them in the 2021-22 season before being traded to Calgary.

The Panthers have lost five of the past six after losing 5-3 to the Penguins on Thursday.

Brad Marchand scored twice, Sam Reinhart once; Mackie Samoskevich and Seth Jones had two assists each.

Florida outshot the Penguins 37-16 including 31-9 in the final two periods but lost their first home game of the season.
