HUGE Move IMMINENT… Multiple WILD Leafs Updates | Toronto Maple Leafs News

Things just took a shocking turn as we have some wild new updates to go over today as massive moves are imminent for this Toronto Maple Leafs team. Following what has been a crazy past few hours and past few days after Craig Brew called out his team, after Anthony Stler has called out his team, things have taken yet another interesting turn. But not only that, we have an update on Chris Tanv as well as well as a tidbit on Joseph Wall. A ton to go over on this episode. But before we get into it all, if you’re a part of the percentage who aren’t subscribed to the channel, quick reminder, hit that subscribe button. There’s a lot to go over today and obviously the Leafs have been uh pretty crazy the past few days. They haven’t been winning games. Fans are upset, the players are upset and we have some more updates that have dropped earlier on this afternoon, specifically from Craig Buru, but also some other players as well. And let’s start with a positive update, which is good news here. So, we covered in the video earlier today that last night Craig Brew said that Chris Tenev was going to quote miss some time. Not the case necessarily now at this point. He’s doing better today and he’s questionable right now. And before we dive into some of the juicier stuff, any thoughts on this? It’s seeming like he’ll probably miss tomorrow’s game. Might get into the second night of the backto back on Friday. But at the end of the day, good news here. He won’t be out for at least months or weeks even like we initially may have thought following, you know, Chris Tanov being sent to the ground yesterday. And he never stays in the grounds. That was obviously a concern. No, he never stays on the floor and let alone that he, you know, missed some time, right? he was taken out of the game. And anytime that that happens to Chris Tanv, you know that it’s significant. I’m not going to speculate on what the injury is. There’s a lot of people throwing that out there on Twitter. We don’t have to get into that. We don’t know at this point in time, but it looks like there is potential for him to miss a game. And that’s crazy cuz that guy is an absolute warrior. So, clearly something pretty significant. But, you know, some of the language has changed this morning that yes, he might miss some time here, but um you know, he could at the same time be back in the lineup early next week. So, that is good news. We’ll see if he misses Friday, if he ends up coming back on Saturday. Uh, and then I guess the Leafs will take it from there. But, uh, it sounds like he’s going to be okay and not miss significant time, which is good. The Leafs absolutely need this player. Yeah, and he obviously is someone who, like you mentioned, never stays down on the ice. When he does, it’s obviously concerning. Let us know down below your thoughts or some positive news there. He kind of doubled down, though. Let’s dive into some of the more interesting things. Now, changes are going to be coming. Stay tuned here. We’ll dive into it in a minute to that top line. But again, following yesterday, he admitted last night that he’s getting tired of the first line struggles, but he added today that William Knander, who’s been moving up and down the top two lines, may end up sticking there for the time being. Breub also pointed to ongoing issues with the team’s defensive play, stating it’s obviously about the first line, of course, that it’s obviously not good enough and he doesn’t feel like there’s any sustained pressure. He also dived into the defense, saying the defense is just standing in there, jumping in when they shouldn’t, not reading, you know, what’s coming out. We’re late with our reloads, all these different things. Now, these comments came out last night. He doubled down on it today, and I’ll get your thoughts on that in a minute. However, Darius, the biggest storyline here of the day is that tomorrow, we’ll almost surely see William Knander on the top line playing in the spot that Mijner was last year. And after all these different changes and moves, started with Machelli, tried Eastan Cowan, tried Max Doi, they’re going to go with William Knander on that top line, which we’ll talk about what it means for the Lions, of course, second line, third line, fourth line, but this is um I don’t hate it, but they’re going to try to get them going because Brew’s had enough of the unfortunate, I guess, if you want to call it that. A really poor play by that first line the entire year. Yeah, I have to say if you’re down by a goal or you’re in a tie game and there’s a few minutes left in the game, this makes sense to put Neander on the top line. But I saw some mock lineups already this morning with Neander on the first line and the second line is Doi, Tvarez, and McMahon. That is horrific. You have no depth at this at that point throughout the entire team if you’re loading up the first line. And let’s be honest, if you take a look at the lineup, who’s coming to save that first line? Is it Knander coming to save that first line? Austin Matthews makes $13 million and Matthew N just signed a long-term pretty lucrative for, you know, how little he’s been in the league contract extension, although we thought it was going to be a little bit more. And we know that these guys can drive play, right? So, what is going on here? You’re not getting any outside help. Nobody’s coming to save that line. That line has to be figured out on its own and has to start creating chances because they didn’t just forget how to play hockey. It’s not knander coming to save the day and start to get them going. They have to figure it out themselves. I hate the idea of throwing Knander up there. I get it from Buru’s point of view. You have to get them going. That’s his job. He’s the coach of the team. I understand. He’s going to make some changes, but that doesn’t make any sense to me. Knander is not going to save that first line, and then you’re just loading every offensive threat that you have on the team besides Tavvarz onto one line, which is not good. You have to spread that out a little bit. I would honestly, if you want to try starting to experiment with stuff, I would put Tavvarz and N together. Try that. See how that looks. Maybe Nice, Tavvarz, and Knander. and then throw two people with Matthews. He isn’t doing much, right? We have to call it what it is. So, uh, Knander’s been one of the best players on this team in terms of offensive production so far this season. So, uh, maybe throw N there, get him going and then and then experiment with the top line again. I have to say, I hate this. I get it from Brew’s point of view, but, uh, nobody’s coming to save that line. They have to figure it out themselves. Yeah, Lson, I mean, that second line’s been okay. Tvarus has nine points as well, which is something that seems a little bit crazy, but he hasn’t been playing bad. If you mess with everything, things will obviously start to uh to go down. And yeah, Knlander top line, we expect that tomorrow. Maybe not tomorrow. Maybe they give it one more go with Max Doi and then try it for the game on Friday when you know the Jay’s World Series game one is on and people are watching less. So maybe that’s when they try it. But speaking of Max Doi, quickly he spoke out on seeing Tanv get hurt and he mentioned what we just mentioned a few minutes ago. Offer mentioned the fact that when he stays down, it’s definitely scary, but I’ve never played with a guy as tough as Tanv. It’s not a good feeling as a group when you see a guy like that go down. So, just kind of put a wrap on that. Obviously, he is crucial to this team. And kind of touching on the defense now, we can pivot to that a little bit. Let us know down below what your thoughts are on the William Knander thing getting moved out to the top line. We’ll know for sure tomorrow. So, a video on that, but it’s going to happen at some point. Do you have any thoughts on the on the defense as a whole this year? obviously haven’t been doing as much ahead in front of Anthony Stolers and he got called out the defensive group they I guess more than awesome Matthews and the guys did because you can see here again not reading what’s coming out we’re late sometimes with their reloads and one of the biggest things is turnovers we’ve got to be smarter and in a year where the defense was supposed to be one of the stabilizing factors especially after acquiring Carlo at the deadline having the whole offseason and then now Morgan Riley taking a step forward in theory things have taken a step back which has led to I mean Ruba getting questioned about making practice optional, which is not something you want to get questioned on this early in the year, but the team is struggling. Any thoughts on on this year? And I get it from his point of view, too. It’s it’s October. They have a backto-back coming up, all of these things, right? Like if it was May, it would be a different story, of course, but um you know, on the defensive side of things to start the season, you chalk up a lot of it to we just started the season, right? But on the other side of things, this defense core is the same as last year. They’ve been playing together, right? So, you would imagine that they would be able to figure it out together or already have it figured out. And of course, like mistakes are going to happen, but a lot of these things I think are avoidable and they just don’t look like they’re in sync. And then when you go back to last week against Seattle, a lot of the normal defense pairings were being split up. And you had Carlo playing with a bunch of different guys. Uh Riley was playing with Tanv at one point. Now obviously Tanv might miss some time, so that’s significant. So uh hopefully not, of course, and it doesn’t sound like that’s the case, but might miss a game or two. But uh they have to get going here. Riley and Carlo together look horrific defensively. They have to figure that out. That’s been something we’ve been talking about since last season and through the summer. Riley at least looks better offensively. Like they’re getting more offense from the defense, which is something they wanted to make more of a point of coming into this year, but defensively they have not been good. I mean the only pairing to me and again at times they still look sluggish is McCabe and Tanv. So they have to get going here. Benois has been taking some risks which you like to see sometimes from the deed like get activated but not at the expense of the defensive zone and giving up odd man rushes and all these things. So, like Brew said, they just don’t look sharp. They just look like they’re not in sync right now. They have to figure it out cuz this is it. This is the defense core. I I don’t think anyone’s coming to help this team. Maybe you get a top six forward closer to the deadline. That’s it. There’s nobody else coming to help this team. This is the the squad that is supposed to figure it out and be a championship caliber team. Yeah. Well, that’s what my thoughts are. One person who might come back is Craig Barub speaking out on Scott Lton. That’s obviously the guy there. He might skate tomorrow, which is obviously very, very good news. He’s trending well. We’ll have a full update on that if that ultimately happens. And then on Joseph Wall, pretty candid. He’s doing fine. And then when he’s back, he’s back. No other update there. So, I’m not going to speculate on that, but hopefully everything’s doing well with him. Let us know down below what your thoughts are. A lot of news coming out. We’ll keep you up to date. Thanks watching.

  1. WOW THE NO TALENT REJECTYS THEY signec ended up flopping alreayd? who couldve predicted that? and continuing to keep already existing flops like domi instead of getting rid f them

leafs are a joke this year half their offensive lines are rejects/flops.

  2. 2 games ago, 3rd period : Nylander went to 1RW,,, and McMann, Tavares and Robertson became L2…
L2 had potential and stuck to the O-zone.
Last game., 3rd period : #89 had 1 measly shift at 1RW, but that shift stuck to the O-zone..
Berube will have to face the facts soon.

  3. Top line wing isn't the issue… Matthews and Knies appear to not be gelling, add the fact they play the majority of their ice time in their own zone doesn't help. Time for a major shuffle. How can guys get used to each other in only one or two games playing together anyways? 3rd and 4th lines show more offensive energy, just cant score…pop Matthews in with a couple of those guys.

  4. 24/25 G/60min..
    1: Nylander : 1.69
    2: Tavares : 1.67
    3: Mathews : 1.44
    4: Knies : 1.20
    5: McMann : 1.12
    6: Robertson : 1.10 (reg), 1.40 (pre,reg&playoff)
    7: Marner : 0.84
    14 : Domi : 0.43

Why is the 14th ranked Leaf scorer on L1 ?
Why not the top 6 scorers on the 2 scoring lines ?

  5. I don’t know where you put Domi. Tavares and Nylander are generating goals, so leave them together. Knies and Mathews need a spark from someone, but putting the defensively uninspired Nylander won’t help with the getting stuck in their own end…

  6. The team really needs to tank, and you need to start the sell off some of this Deadwood . When you get rid of a 100-point right-winger in his prime fifth overall. This is where you end up with everyone in leaf management and sports media talking like Scooby-Doo.

  7. The problem with this team is 75% of the players have the same personality they play with no emotion and the leader of no emotion is Mathews for the last 2 and a haft years Mathews is been a no show and he is the leader of the team you can not have your leader on the ice play with no emotion all you need to do go back and look at Gimore and Clarke they where leaders on the ice and played with emotion and the team would feed of them and the leafs need a player like Tucker was other players feed of that it is time for a change and if you move Mathews and get some good return then this needs to be looked at we need a leader with emotion

  8. They are too old,too slow and have zero guts, why sign Pezzeta just to put him on the AHL? every one knows to beat The Laffs is play hard and they wilt like wet tissue

  9. I’m sick of hearing “Matthews drives the play..”

    He is butt f***ing USELESS.
Can’t hit, can’t pass, skating is average at best and diminishes more so when he’s asked to actually SKATE with the puck.
    He never seems engaged.
His whole body language screams disinterested.

  10. Need a First line. The fear after the long injury last year was that matthews was going to be a much more ordinary player for the rest of his career. That is what we are looking at right now 35 goal 65 point matthews.

  11. As stated since last season… leafs go NOWHERE with mathews as captain, AND… mathews without marner feeding him puts up 2nd line numbers at best. Overpaid, lack of grit soft, milk toast play bleeds into the room. And thusly the leafs get pounded, disrespected, goalies ran over with no response. Ho hum.. another year of this. Something folks… has GOT to change.
Let's start by getting Cowan in. Every other young gun in the league got Ice time …young… and now look at who the hottest players are? He's a legit quality player who WILL adapt quick and be BETTER for it. And therefore… so will the leafs.
Wake up Berube you freeking DOLT!!
