  4. Exactly my feelings. I never once thought “it is Justin Fields.” It is a lot of things and I love Alex calling him out.

  5. It’s always Woody. He can’t hire the right people, he interferes with who he hires. He’s patient when he should have a quick trigger and is rash when he should be patient. He’s had QBs and coaches leave the org and have success. He’s the worst owner in the NFL and one of the worst in North American professional sports.

  6. Alex Smith has seen what a terrible owner can do first hand as well… Good for him speaking out against the BS, Fields isn’t a great QB but he doesn’t deserve that from Woody. Seems like Fields is a generally likeable guy, good locker room guy, and has the potential to be a serviceable NFL QB. Isn’t that EXACTLY what you want on a team that is taking dart throws at players hoping to get a high draft pick?

    It’s not like anyone thought we were playoff bound with this roster anyway. Our defensive line is putrid, our entire (not injured) WR room would probably clear waivers if dropped, we have more holes on this team than Swiss cheese… So why the shots at Fields?! The dude just needs to avoid media controversy and improve over the course of the year or land us a top pick, he’s done exactly what we expected.

    Can’t wait for Woody to sell. Maybe we can turn around like the Commanders or something when he does.

  7. Well said. It’s not one source that’s the issue. Many want it to be because then the fix feels easier to implement. But its the ownership, its the front office, its the coaches, and it is most definitely the players.

  8. Whether it’s Gase, Saleh, JD, Maccagnan, Idzik, Glenn, now and Mougey. All these guys either failed or have failed so far and the common denominator is woody. Sell the team you 🤡

  12. Woody Johnson bought the team for $635million dollars in 2000 and the team is now worth more than $9 BILLION.

    In that time they’ve gone to the playoffs just six times, and have a record of 163-231, with 6 seasons where they’ve won 4 or less games and have had double digit wins just 4 times.

    Despite this horrible record, the value of the franchise has increased exponentially which is why he will never sell it, or even let it out of the Johnson family for that matter.

  13. It should be obvious to everyone. We have tried so many coaches, drafted a bunch of QBs in early rounds, and got new GMs and nothing changes. The only thing that stays constant in Woody Johnson.

    Every team has some down years, some longer than others, but the jets just are always bad. There’s a reason for that. We will never know what truly goes on behind the scenes, but Woody is the constant in all of this and it’s not a coincidence

    And it’s not like he’s only been the owner for a hand full of years. If that were the case, I’d say let’s cut him some slack bc it might take some time to learn.

    NOPE. Woody has been the owner since January 2000. In the 25 seasons as owner, the Jets have had 9 winning seasons. All of which came in 2015 and before that. There has been two .500 seasons (2011 & 2013). So since 2015 we have had all losing seasons.

And it sucks because we’re one of the most loyal fans, ticket prices are through the roof, a bottle of water costs $12 just a day alone is at least $200 per person, we keep spending and putting money into Woody’s pocket, he doesn’t care about what anyone has to say as long as we show up every Sunday

  24. Woody gets a check from the NFL for about $450 million every year. It goes up every year. They are not selling this team ever. Someday the Jets will have a winning record again and everyone will be kissing his ass.

  25. The problem is the whole culture of having takes, from the owner to the ESPN talking head douches all the way down to Reddit. If you’re watching ESPN for Alex Smith’s opinion on anything, go outside. The game is good enough but everything around it is noise.
