Rich Eisen’s Kudos to Former Raiders CEO Amy Trask for Being a Pro Football Hall of Fame Finalist

We like good news, don’t we? Who doesn’t? We all love good news. Love it. Here on the program, uh we’ll talk about the the Chargers later on. I know I promised I’d talk on the back end here about it, but we’ll do that after I Iso, if you don’t mind, uh prior to our um prior to our uh uh what’s more likely segment. But uh we learned today the list of contributors that have reached a finalist stage for the Pro Football Hall of Fame. We all know that there’s players that are uh eligible for enshrinement and then there’s a veterans committee for players that have passed their if you will eligibility for enshrinement just to get voted in fresh off of their playing days and the contributors are usually there’s coaches list as well right uh and then the contributors owners and others and the list um that was released today Howard Coell’s on that list. Some big names on that list. I know. John Facend is on that list. Um I believe is Virginia Macsky is on that list. Correct. Yeah, she is. Um Rooney Jr. is on that list. Yeah, Bob Craft. Bob Craft, who we talked about with Mike Vrabel yesterday. How are these some of these people not already in? I know that. Great question. Well, you know, doesn’t make any sense. Here’s one finalist Amy Tr. Ah, yes. the princess of darkness, the one who was standing next to Al Davis every single time I met her for the first time at owner’s meetings. And she scared the ever loving crap out of me when they walked in to an owner’s meeting. Honestly, the Imperial March music should have been played. Yeah. And but that’s just a facade. Well, I mean, I shouldn’t say that. It it it’s part and parcel of who she is, but she is one of the warmest, most delightful people. I’m getting emotional talking about it. You know, obviously she and Susie uh doing a podcast, what the football here last couple of years. Um, and um, she deserves it. She absolutely deserves it. Raiders fans know it. And uh, I’m so excited that she was named as a a finalist for the Pro Football Hall of Fame. It is so welld deserved. So awesome. I just now hearing this and that’s great, man. Is awesome. It’s great. So, somebody wise was pounding the table to say she should be considered here. Um it’s a heck of a list of people to be I mean in that that’s some titans in that list and she is she is that for sure for sure you know telling Al to stop abstaining stopaining stop suing stop abstaining or you should abstain you should sue I’m sure I I I the stories as we all know uh pretty cool pretty cool so I just wanted to give her herd do. She’s one of our favorite. Absolutely. Congrats. Exactly. Right. Yeah. It’s awesome. All the Raider fans out there. Um, who else is on that list? You got that? You got the list in front of you right there. Yeah. Again, pro footballenda posted this earlier today. John, Bud Adams, Run Arlage. Wow. Geez. See what I’m saying? This doesn’t make sense. Oh, uh, Sean McVeyy’s grandfather, John McVey. Okay. Uh, yeah. and a few and a few others. Facenda, the voice of football, who I think it was Greg Coell, speaking of a Coel um told the story of how Facenda, whenever he got a script from NFL films that he liked, which was probably every single time he received a script from NFL films. And they hired him because he was a newsman in Philadelphia, right across the the bridge from from Mount Laurel, New Jersey. And uh he said whenever he got a script that he liked, he would say, “Now that’s a horse I can ride.” Could you imagine? And there are legendary Facenda outtake tapes. Steve Sable told me, Yeah. that there are outtakes in which he is swearing like a sailor. And I’m like, can I please get access to that? You know what Steve Sable said to me? Absolutely not. So we know they exist. Steve Sable said they’re somewhere. Well, Sable told me they exist, and I’m like, can I can I They’re in the vault. Absolutely not. Hey, you made it all the way to the end. Thanks for that. Check us out every single day streaming live on Disney Plus and the ESPN app 12 to 3 Eastern.

  1. For what? In 16 seasons while she was CEO the Raiders made the playoffs only 3 times and lost the Super Bowl in one of those years. The team had a losing record overall during her tenure
