At this point even if we make he playoffs which is unlikely we will get blasted to hell. Given Tobin is likely not getting canned, the only way we can get a good defender is getting a top pick. No more Myles Murphy type busts in the 1st round for gods sake

There are some bright spots like DJ but overall the line couldn’t create pressure on anyone. The draft picks should be all defensive pieces next year. Need to stop someone.
Another wasted Joey B year. Even if he comes back this year, the defense won’t hold up. We scored 38 points and still lost the game…..SMH.
I’m ready for Zac to go, and already don’t like what I’m seeing from the Al Golden experiment, but I am always going to stand on the fact that Tobin needs to go for anything to change. Even then, this is the Blackburn/Mike brown show. They are hard and fast locked in to their ways.
Duke Had some good hits, but anyone would with 30 years of chances, tons of them in the top 5. Burrow and Chase were no brainers. In a time where you just need decent floor players and not world beaters to fill out a roster around burrow and chase, Tobin has instead created a worse roster year after year. Generational fumble. Dude sucks and he needs to go. No one is succeeding with this defensive roster.
Poor roster construction and scheme have this defense in a death spiral. Somehow worse than last year.
– You’ve whiffed on all your D line picks so you can’t get pressure with 4. Didn’t add much in FA for depth.
– But you can’t blitz because of Al Golden’s base scheme
– So you adjust the scheme to allow more blitzing but turns out your safeties are too slow and can’t run 2 high, limiting you to cover 1 and cover 3 looks that are easily exploitable, especially with no rush
– You try to inject some life with 2 rookie LBs who are more athletic but they become hesitant/confused in the run scheme with lack of experience, leading to poor fit/angles/tackling
This is a toxic situation. Unfortunately requires a deep rebuild unless they are willing to spend the FA capital like they did in 2020 and 2021.
Golden has to go in the bye week if this happens again next week. Then let Sean Desai and Charles Burks co-DC for the remainder of the year.
They were playing at a slightly below average level at times when Browning was playing. Even before that they were getting some stops. Yes they got lucky the Browns kicker missed and Brian Thomas dropped passes. But the last two weeks have been a complete dumpster fire. Without Trey on the field there is zero pass rush to be found. How long have we been saying that for? 3+ years now. I legitimately don’t know what Myles Murphy Joseph Ossai BJ Hill or Shemar Stewart are doing out there. There is no push whatsoever on that d line. Behind them you have linebackers missing tackles and defensive backs taking poor angles. In Jordan Battles case today he has a sack handed to him and completely botches it. There has been some bad football played the last two weeks. Sadly I see it getting no better this personnel is awful outside of a couple guys.
And this was against the WORST offense in the league.
Maybe our defense line should play offensive line and offense play defense.

I actually defended our defense a little bit when Browning was out there sucking it up. I just thought the defense looked bad because our offense was going 3 and out non stop and stayed on the field all game. But boy was I wrong.
This is the only team in the NFL that can score 38 points with a 40 year old quarterback and still find a way to lose. What’s our record since last year of scoring 30+ points? Like 1-7?
The defense is a tragic joke. The scheme is bad, the play calling is bad, the execution therefore is bad. This is a problem that starts from the top and we all know that nothing is going to change this season, or next, or the year after that because nothing will change in the front office. Despite all the talent this team has, we will never achieve greatness because the FO is a shit show and it filters down all the way to the players.
I am too lazy to Google, but if Marvin Lewis is free and does not have a job, I would love bring him back or at least as a draft expert at least Because no one can not say that he did not know how to draft good fucking players.When he ran this team

Lmao we drafted another first round athletic DE who can’t play football, used a second round pick on an off the ball linebacker who had a standout season because he’s playing with guys he’s 3 or for years older than and we were supposed to get excited about a guy who used to coach the linebackers here a few years ago. Fuck us so hard
What makes the defense bad at getting to the quarterback? Is it their individual inability to get to him? Like can’t get thru the oline? Or Al Golden just doesn’t have the players blitz? I don’t understand.
And I know the defense sucks but is it weird that I’m more mad at the offense on those final 2 drives. Like, why did they abandon the run game? It was finally cooking! And Iosivas… omg his dropped passes are going to give me PTSD. I don’t wanna see him be targeted again. And it’s always when it’s needed the most. Unfucking real that they couldn’t get in field goal position to win the game. Again, I get it, defense is trash… but still..offense knew they needed to score and couldn’t. It’s infuriating. I don’t think I’ve ever been so mad at a loss.

I think i could lowkey do a better job, 310 lb DT with a 4.7 40 yard dash, but I haven’t played in like 4 years, lol.
