The Expectations on Trevor Lawrence Are WAY Too High 😤 #trevorlawrence #jaguars #nfl

I never said that they need to give up on Trevor. I don’t even know where that narrative came from. I never said they need to get rid of him and trade him and start talking about cap ramifications. I don’t know where that came from. I think they can still win with Trevor Lawrence. It’s just going to be different than you all imagined and thought it was. And you’re somehow still holding on to that and you won’t let it go. And I think that’s a disservice to him. I think it’s a disservice to him when you’re expecting him to get to beat Patrick Mahomes or you’re expecting him to beat Josh Allen or Lamar Jackson and even Joe Burrow. I I just think it’s I think it’s the expectation is just too

  1. High picks come with high expectations…
    That's where that comes from
I agree with you, though. T Law is a solid QB, and we can win with him

  2. Expectations too high?? He's getting paid 255 million and can't consistently manage a game. Bo Nix and Drake Maye playing better than TLAW in their second year. Nobody asking him to be any of the QBs you named. We are expecting him to be what he was at Clemson . Which is the reason we drafted him.

  3. Now hold on Wig. I like your show and I know your much more knowledgeable than I am. I watched Trevor at Clemson. Every snap for 3 years. The ACC is not the NFL. To your comment. You might want to re watch your podcast with the Trevor rant after the Rams game. You said point blank, the Jags will never win a championship with Trevor. You said he didn't turn out to be the player that we had hoped he would be. You insinuated, that you had given up on him. He doesn't have what it takes. You were angry when you said it. I said I disagree. I think he can improve and still be a great QB. Not saying he will, I'm saying it could happen because he's 26 years old. I'm not holding onto anything. He can make throws that maybe 2 other guys can make. Doesn't mean he can win. The disconnect between you and I, is what burns deep inside him. Media and fan comments will not matter, he will not quit. He is going to work until someone tells him he's done. The lighhearted demeanor on the outside is not a reflection of how bad he wants to get it right.

  4. He got paid and if HE can't live up to THAT expectation then yes he needs to go or restructure that contract and or still go.

Who job going to pay them top 10% and u underperforming and continue to allow that in the real world …..NOBODY!

  5. I told everybody after he won the national championship as a freshman. He’s not that good. He was just on one of the greatest college football rosters of all time. He himself. He’s an nfl qb. No doubt. But his bottom half of the league for sure. Sorry. He’s just not that guy.

  6. Listen, I was always a supporter. Trevor and I hoped he would grow into a great quarterback eventually but it’s hard not to give up. He has no consistency. He has no finesse on his throws and he gave Brian Thomas Junior PTSD putting him in bad situations where he got lit up. Bryon Thomas Junior had 1200 yards and 10 touchdowns last year. He can’t even catch a ball this year because Trevor put him in bad positions to get hit hard and I understand that’s part of football but still. The difference between a good quarterback and a bad quarterback is consistency. Every quarterback has talent in the NFL but not everyone has consistency. Trevor needs to go.
