C.J. Stroud, Texans Take Down Shorthanded 49ers 26-15 | NFL Week 8 Recap
Back in studio with the fellas and JJ, I’ll say it again. Finally marrying some offense with that stout defense in Houston. What impressed you most about the offensive performance that they did this with all of the noise around them because the noise has been very loud in Houston, especially with offensive coordinator Nick Kay in his first year calling plays. Everyone has been talking about, oh, this is some ugly unholy marriage of Patriots offense mixed with McVey offense and it’s not working out. Well, today it worked out. And not only did it work, but it also worked without Christian Kirk and without Nico Collins. They were able to do that against Robert Salah’s defense. They were able, the Houston Texans were able to hold the football and possess it for 41 plus minutes. They doubled up the San Francisco 49ers and M. Jones, the best backup quarterback in the NFL and a Niners team that has NFC title game and Super Bowl aspirations. Doubled them up in time of possession with everything that has been going on around this Texans team and without the two top targets. Credit all around to CJ Stra, but also to firstear play caller Nick Kayley. And also too, let’s highlight a position group with the success that you highlighted with the Houston Texans. It means nothing if the offensive line didn’t do what they did today. They played their best game. That’s why we’ve been seeing pedestrian like numbers from CJ Stout in their offense in totality because the offensive line has been horrendous. We saw what this past Monday night in Seattle. It was a close-knit ball game. They fought defensively, but they lost that ball game because CJ Stra was running for his life. He didn’t run today unless he wanted to. Over what, 300 yards, two touchdowns, and he provided 30 yards on the ground. Improvised running. CJ, keep doing it because when you do it, it makes the entire offense better. With Nico or without Nico, it didn’t matter. CJ Stout is still a heck of a quarterback, but for him, production protection, I’m sorry, is a necessity for him to be at his best. If they can protect him just a little bit like they did today, moving forward, they’re three and four now. That defense ain’t slowing down. Yeah, that’s a championship caliber defense. If that offense can can get a tad bit better, teeny tiny better, they’ll be okay. Pat, talk to me about this defense because they play so fast. I I mean, they are hats to the ball, bad intentions type group. What stands out when you look at them all 22? For the most part, the guys up front, you know, they had two sacks today, but the amount of pressure that they kept on Matt Jones the entire game, we we was watching that highlight tape. Every single time Matt Jones had an opportunity to step back and throw is either he was running, getting sacked, or being hit. And that’s what calls for a great defense. You already you already noted that they what giving up 15 points a game. 14 14 points a game. I’m sorry. Houston, that is championship caliber defense. So if they can continue playing like this and protect CJ Stout like they did today, this team can get it back rolling. You see the defenders, they always round down. Yeah, we round down. You don’t 14.7 is just do a defensive It’s not 15, it’s 14 for us. Our math class defense still takes two of them to cover state. Plenty more coming here on CBS Sports HQ as we take a look at the numbers. CJ Shroud in the wins. Numbers you’d assume going to be better here. 80% completion percentage across those three wins as the Texans tough one in that win column. Much needed.

Texans gotta establish some consistency and prove they can do this against other championship-caliber defenses, not just the ones that are banged up. i will take the win tho.
Texans are shorthanded as well (Mixon, Collins). This is a backhanded headline
Now that the Texans are mysteriously "fixed", that Seattle defensive front will be all but forgotten. This is what happens when you spend a week under the spell of the national punditry narrative, "What's wrong with the Texans?" The answer was obvious. It was the Seahawks.
You play your schedule no matter the injuries💯
Caley and Stroud are figuring it out. Good thing they don't listen to y'all. 😅🤘🏿
Making excuses when they win and assigning guilt when they lose.
Your blatant hate for The Texans is childish and completely immature.
In case you hadn't noticed we're short a bunch of main players all season.
Up yours cbs.
The title of the vid 😂
Preach B- MAC!
Just so ya'll know we short handed too
My Seahawks put that BTA!! HawkGang!!
Texans have hella injuries too why is that the first thing everyone says? I still want to see what they do vs Broncos to make any final judgments on the season
Let's see what song they're singing next week after we play Denver
It’s the TEXANS offense. Stop comparing old teams.
Bro we just came off the bye week we had to build that momentum we good we just gotta shut out the jags again and the colts we foots stop them
Short handed lol, Texans missing Joe Mixon, Nico and Kirk, where’s our excuses?
Yooo lets talk about how stud the Seahawks are and not the shitty Niners and “Houston We Have A Problem” 😂😤💪
They got injuries we got injuries…our line played like MVPs today..go texans
