I’m Al Golden because this Bengals defense is just an absolute clown show right now, losing to the New York Jets 39-38 in a game that you had every single chance to win. The Bengals offense actually played really well in this game today. Bengals defense could not get going at all. So, we’re going to do our takeaways from this game today. It’s youtube.combinglesv. All right, let’s get into some injury news here first. Trey Hendrickson. A couple Bengals players did go out in this game, but most of those guys ended up returning. Trey Hendrickson, obviously past couple weeks, he’s been dealing with a back/hip injury. He went out pretty much the last play right before halftime of this game. Same thing there. It was a hip injury for him and he did not return. So, we’ll keep you guys updated if there’s any other uh you know, injury updates here on Trey Hendrickson, but he did not return in the second half. Let’s start off today’s show with a little bit of positives from today’s game. Sama Perine absolutely cooked. Him and Chase Brown were really, really good in this game and it was a thing that we asked for in our keys to victory. Could the Bengals have another game, two games in a row where they could run the ball and they were able to, especially in the third, fourth quarter there, they were running the ball at will. Chase Brown had 73 yards on the ground on 12 carries. Uh Sam Perine nearly broke 100 yards on nine carries, 94 yards in this game. What more could you ask for from these two guys? It was something that we asked for. The Bengals just being able to run the football with a little bit of consistency and they were able to do that in this game today. Um you know, just overall I, you know, the offense scored 38 points in this game. Could you ask for anything more than that from this Joe Flacco le offense? I don’t really think you could. Um, shout out to Maj Per, chef, uh, chef, uh, Perine there, cuz he absolutely cooked. And, you know, shout out Chase Brown as well. 73 more yards on the ground. Uh, Chase Brown had 61 or excuse me, 6.1 yards per carry. Smaj P Rin over 10 yards per carry today. Uh, shout out both those guys. They they definitely showed up to play. The Bengals defense showed up to play and then they forgot that there was a game going on somewhere mid through the second quarter. I I just really do not understand what Al Golden is, what his game plan is. I I just do not get it all. You know, you come out in this game, you are firing on all cylinders in the first quarter. You end up giving up over 500 yards to the worst offense, really not the worst offense in the National Football League, but overall the worst team in the National Football League. You know, the the Jets offense so far this year, they were averaging 18 points per game. That was 27th in the NFL. You give up a season high to them, 38 or excuse me, 39 points in this game. You got absolutely freaking cooked on the ground. Uh you gave up 23 points in the fourth quarter of this game. I I just don’t get it, man. They come out firing on all cylinders. You get that fourth down stop. You think that this defense is just just about to cook in this game? Guess who cooked? Justin Fields as well. He had the best game of his of the season so far this year for him. 21 of 32. Um he had 244 passing yards and a touchdown as well. Took care of the football. I I just really do not get it. I think the Bengals need to fire Al Golden at this point. I They’re not going to, but uh I know a lot of you guys are going to be saying the exact same thing. The Bengals just I I do not get this defense, man. Uh you have zero pass rush. We’ll talk about that here in a little bit as well. But when you’re giving up this type of the Bengals, you know, early on in the first quarter, they were out, you know, time of possessioning. I I don’t know if that’s the right word there, but I’m kind of fired up right now. They had more time of possession than than the Jets in that first quarter. I I have no idea what happened after that. Just an absolute collapse from this Bengals defense. So, if you got if you guys want Al Golden Fired just like I do right now, I am so freaking mad right now. And I’m trying so hard not to cuss right now. Let me know what you guys think. Andre Yoshivoss, you know, you talk about big- time players and big time moments. They make big time plays. Andre Yoshivos is none of that. You know, I I’m stealing this from somebody in the uh in our watch party in the live chat. They said in the live chat, they said Andre Yoshias was Tyler Boyd 2.0. I do not disagree with them at all. Andre Yoshivas had three targets in this game. He dropped all three of them. Uh maybe he didn’t drop all three of them, but he definitely dropped the last two there on that last drive. I You know, Charlie Jones doesn’t play at all apparently on offense. Mitchell Tinsley, I like what are we doing? What are we doing? I I just do not get it. Andre Yoshi Boss is not the guy that, you know, Zack Taylor apparently thinks he is. I don’t know why he consistently gets playing time over those other two guys. I I’m going to go back to it. I think you should play play Germaine Burton. I think he’s better than Andre Yoshi Boss. I think he’s got better hands than Andre Yoshi Boss. Excuse me. And uh you know, maybe if you put him back there to receive some punts as well, I think he he could help this Bengals team out. But uh Andre Yoshi Boss, man, it’s just consistently weak after week after week, drop after drop after drop. I hate harping on it. I I really really do. But you know, you have an opportunity to move the ball downfield late there in that game and you get two drops there from Andre Yoshi Boss. So, uh Tyler Boy two Tyler Boyd 2.0 maybe. I’m I’m stealing that from somebody in the chat, but I just think he needs to have less snaps going forward for this Bengals offense. Trey Hendrickson got hurt in this game, but you know, he he wasn’t really providing any type of pass rush for this Bengals team either. You had zero sacks in this game again against a Jets offensive line. Billy, do we still have that uh list five logo of the the Jets offensive line? Just how bad they have been so far this year and you got absolutely zero pass rush against them. I I just really don’t get it, man. You know, you tried to do a little bit of blitzing in this game. That worked at times, but you can see the stats right here, man. You know, coming up into this game, these are the PFF stats for the Jets offensive line. Olu Fosu was absolute big boying Trey Hendrickson in this game at least in the first half there. And then I’ll be honest, I don’t really know if it was Miles Murphy or Joseph Osai that really got the majority of the snaps in the second half there. But you know, you’re going up against one of the worst offensive lines in the National Football League and you don’t get a single freaking sack on Justin Fields. This it’s a consistent issue and it all comes back to Al Golden. Man, I I I just really do not get this. Um it it doesn’t matter who’s in there. You you just consistently get zero pressure. So grade the Bengals defense ABCD or F down in the comments section. I’m going to give it an F. Uh you know you you gave up 23 points in the fourth quarter. Uh you were up 24-13 at halftime and you just pissed that pissed that win away against the the worst team in the NFL. You gave the Jets their first win of the season so far this year. Uh really it was because of your defense. You you score 38 points in this game and you still can’t win the game. You give up uh what two I think two-point conversions in this game as well. Just a just terrible performance especially in the second half really in the fourth quarter for this Bengals defense. Is the season cooked? I don’t know. It’s a I put a question mark on there, you know, for a specific reason there. I don’t know if the season’s cooked or not. Uh you know, you’re three and five right now. Um, and I don’t know, man. You had an opportunity to really, you know, get up to four and four on the season, be a half game behind the Pittsburgh Steelers. They’re playing the Green Bay Packers tonight. You know, you had an opportunity to make up some ground there in the AFC North. I I’m just so mad right now. This Bengals defense is just absolutely awful. I And even if they do somehow make a run, um, I just have zero confidence right now in this Bengals defense. The offense looked great. I mean, Joe Flacco, you know, he had some missed throws in this game today, but you know, he was 21 of 34, 223 yards, two touchdowns, zero interceptions. Again, you were able to run the ball with a lot of consistency in this game, but your defense is the the same exact thing as last year. They’re just absolute boo-oo. Um, so I I don’t know, maybe the season’s cooked. Maybe you get some trades here at the deadline to fix that defense. But I, you know, I I just genuinely I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. I don’t think there’s all the trades in the world, especially with this cheap front office that doesn’t want to pay any type of contracts. They’re not going to do anything to fix this Bengals defense here at the trade deadline coming up here on November 4th. So, you know, maybe you trade, you know, Logan Wilson, he put in that trade request there, but what are you going to get back for for Logan Wilson? Not not something that’s going to fix this Bengals defense. So, um, we’ll see what happens here, but season cook, that’s definitely a question mark right now. What is your confidence level in the Bengals making the playoffs? Scale it for me. 1 to 10. One on the low end, 10 on the high end. You can throw your zeros in there if you want to as well. I have zero confidence in the Bengals making the playoffs right now behind Al Golden in this piss poor Bengals defense. [Music]
