The silver lining of Mike McCoy? Cam is improving.

  1. This more or less coincides with Dike coming on as a halfway decent target right? He was basically a non factor early in the season and now he’s one of the top targets (especially with Ridley out)

  2. He has looked visibly better regardless of what the stats say.

Just in time for our defense to absolutely collapse

  3. I’m not sure that I love McCoy as a coach, but I think he definitely helps accomplish some goals for this season.

He’s not great, so he probably won’t have us in position to win a lot of games. As much as that sucks, it also gets us much needed draft capital. If we’re going to be this bad, we might as well get something out of it.

Also, I think he’s going to be good for the rookies and young players. There are no expectations for him like there were for Callahan. He’s not a young coach trying to make a name for himself in his first shot at HC. He looks more open to just letting the rookies just play ball, which is something I didn’t feel under Callahan. It feels a bit more relaxed than it did with Callahan, which might not be great for improving our record, but it could be great for improving certain key players for our future.

  4. These stats reek of situation blindness.

Cam Ward leads the nfl in 4th quarter passing yards because they are consistently down 3TDs at that point of the game. Half of reddit can put up good passing statistics in similar scenarios.

The TEAM has degressed every week this year, there is no true silver lining to our interm coach

  5. Do you guys even watch the games or do you just cherry pick stats to convince yourselves Ward is doing well? If you want stats here are some:

Ward is ranked 33rd/36 QBs by PFF, he is 33rd/33 for QBR, he is 33rd/33 for EPA, he has the 4th worst passer rating in the league.

He was not good at all yesterday v the Colts nor was he good against the Patriots outside of the first quarter. It isn’t just that other players are playing badly, he’s playing terribly too. Can we just be honest?
