Glenn’s coaching has been chastised a lot this season. But in my opinion they won Sunday purely because of his game management particularly in the 4th quarter. He stuck with developing Isiah Williams and he shown flashes as a returner and a WR Sunday. If they play well out of the bye. that would be an excellent sign.
This team may very well go 1-16 but I’ll remember yesterday’s win for a long time. You’ve gotta love sports, man. RIP 74.
I’m in favor of winning as many games as possible. Go 6-11 and knock Buffalo out of the playoffs in Week 18.
LFG!
I have no problem giving him his flowers for yesterday’s performance. The problem is deciding that, at least for the next two weeks, we’re in good shape on that front.
Task number 1 is not falling back to earth vs a bad Cleveland team.
Listen, I’m glad he got that first win. The analytics are clear over the last couple of years that going for two down 8 is now the accepted move among many coaches in the league.
(That doesn’t hold true in the 1st quarter so that 2 point decision on Opening Day remains bad!).
This was & is a transition year, I can see a 4-13 season (6-11 if we don’t fumble away legit chances for wins vs. the Steelers & Bucs).
That’s fine – BUT I hope the team doesn’t now think, after one win, that Justin Fields is the answer, cause he’s not. I’ve never seen a guy throw so many incompletions yards away from the intended target. Yea, he played a good game but his style of play will never win the big games.
Keep building – keep Breece & Quincy, keep that OL strong, trade Quinnen, and continue the search for a starting QB.
This organization is rotten from the very top. It’s not on this coach.
The O line finally showed up. Maybe a tribute to Nick.
When the O works, everything works.
Developing as a coach takes time too. That’s why they would have been crazy to fire Glenn after 5 games or even one season. Let’s see if they can get all three units on the field for the same game. If the defense showed up like it had been then this would have been a blow out. But all good signs that they were able to keep with it and push to a victory.
Fields had a good day, let’s see if he can string some games together. Maybe one against a team outside the AFC North. They don’t need the first pick if they can work things out with him. I’d rather see some wins if he can be the guy. Prove Woody wrong.
Going to be a sad day when they trade Hall. He was really on one yesterday. But that’s business.
People still don’t understand when to go for two in the year of 2025. The first two point conversion attempt is the one that shows Glenn understands game management more than the second.
