Mikko Rantanen On Start To Stars Season, the Team’s Desperation to End Current Skid & More
Well, obviously you guys got off to a quick start. You won your first three, then you lose three, and that roller coaster of emotions, right? It’s the feel great, not so great. And we talk about it with so many players and fans and stuff. The difference between how a player tries to focus on not riding those versus how the fans ride it is very different. Oh yeah. You know, it’s uh obviously, you know, we hate losing, you know, hate lose three in a row and especially two at home. Uh so we know we got to be better. Uh I think as a pro athlete and you play 82 games, you got to reset quick. So obviously we learned yesterday, we watched some video what we can do better, what we have to do better and then not today’s a new day and we forgot the last game and and now we’re just try to try to end the roller coaster here and try to play like we did most of the first three games. And going into the season, there was all this talk about how deep the team is. a good team that doesn’t just disappear because you lost three in a row. No, no, it’s uh you know, you go through some tough stretches, you know, and and u as a team always it happens and but now we just got to turn it around, you know, we can’t can’t lay low because we’re not playing well or whatever. So, so we got to we got to bounce back and and uh get the win and then get rolling. So, what gets you excited about getting ready to play the Kings tonight and moving forward after three wins and then three losses? Yeah, I think you want to feel the winning feeling again. You know, that’s that’s what drives us. You know, we want to win as many games as we want and and like I said before, we hate hate losing. So So should be desperate group today to to get the win in in front of our home crowd. You guys have this is the second of seven games over 12 days. Start of that real compact schedule. Is that good early in the year? Play a lot of games. Yeah, I think so. And you know, the schedule is always what it is and we have to adapt and and uh just get ready for every time we have a game in the schedule. So, so now we have a lot of games because the it’s Olympic year, so there’s not a lot of not a lot of days off, but it is what it is and and we’re we’re ready for
