Their first win of the season and it certainly came on a sad day when they learned of the passing of former Jet Nick Mangle dying from kidney failure at the age of 41. As for the win, they came back in the fourth quarter. Bree Hall the go-ahead touchdown pass to Mason Taylor. Head coach Aaron Glenn finally getting one. Proud of these guys, man. Proud of the way they fought. We still have a long way to go. It’s one win, you know, and and I hate the fact that that, you know, we’re one and seven, but I’m happy that we got us a win today and we can get ready to go through this by week and uh get ready for Cleveland, which will be which will take place on November 9th. As for the passing of Mangled, here was Glenn. Obviously, I didn’t play with him, but I was here as a scout when he was playing, and he was the heart and soul of um of this team. Um he had a number of kids and it’s always tough to hear that especially a guy that’s a true jet. Gone too soon for sure. As for the Giants falling to the Eagles 38-20. Jaylen Herz four touchdown passes. Jackson Dart 193 yds passing a touchdown. He was sacked five times. The injury Cam Scatteraboo dislocated foot. Season ending surgery. The Giants take on the Niners Sunday at 1. The Giants are 2-6. Sunday night football. Packers beat the Steelers 35-25 tonight. But here we are yet again in a year where it felt different. Certainly over the last four plus weeks with Jackson Dart. Once the Giants went to Jackson Dart, there was new renewed hope. It felt better positive about the Giants saying they’ve closed the gap. And yet here we are again with a team that’s two and six before Halloween. And every year for the last nine seasons outside of the one where they went to the postseason, the Giants have had fewer than two or fewer wins through the first eight games. And it’s just unacceptable. Now, you could go over the reasons why that may be the case, but this was not supposed to be this case this year. You could nitpick, and we’ll get to the specifics of the game, whether it’s the referees, obviously, the horrific injury to Scataboo. It’s just like, I mean, come on, man. Mercy, you waved the white flag. But this is year four of a new regime, and yet it’s the same old thing. in the last three seasons under Brian Dable outside of his first year they went to the postseason two and six through eight games you know I mean you’re right it is the same stuff but is it I’m going to throw a question at the end of that you got your quarterback so that makes me feel good but you think about all the momentum that was generated here some of the conversations and by the way s I don’t think that any of the conversations that we or the station or the callers not everybody but that most of us were leaning into without going nuts were were really erroneous takes. Like the Giants had forced their way into the Giants earned a little respect early this year and you know and it had been so long since they since they had generated since they generated that type of respect or where it didn’t feel flimsy where I maybe they win a game or two but it’s against a bad team. They beat two really good teams early. They looked a little different. They had a little bit of a different energy and here we are. You know, in a lot of ways certainly the momentum is gone. the good feeling is gone. You talked about the twoame stretch and and of course they’ve lost both of these games since. So it’s pretty much a wrap on the season. It was expected like nobody’s saying you know the mo most people expected them to get beat by Denver now the way that it happened inexcusable and that’s to me the bigger point like we could talk about the new feel right now it’s different they have the quarterback but it’s the same record and the record shouldn’t be two and six they should have beaten the Cowboys and they should have beaten the Broncos. That’s a whole different story. So why are we now in year four with the same head coach with a new quarterback with a different hope with players on defense that are supposed to be winning now and the record’s the same like it it can’t happen. So the idea and I know we got nine games to go and we’ll evaluate Dable and Dart that’s going to be every god. Yeah. I mean that’s the story that’s where we’re at. But for me the evaluation like it it we’re seeing it. We’ve seen it. The Giants should be better than 2 and six. However you want to slice it, they should be better than 2-6 through the first eight games. I’m not just saying yesterday like the Eagles are very good, hard to sweep. We know that the game got away from them for many different reasons. The week before they should have won the Cowboys game, they should have won slip up to the Saints. Like all those things add up to a subpar record. Why would you believe if you’re a Giants fan that things are going to change the final nine games or even beyond this year into next year? Well, the only reason is because again, you have the quarterback and to what extent I we don’t fully know, but there is no doubt that Jackson Dart’s got some special qualities. So, that’s that’s one reason and that’s the main reason to be fired up. I mean, we we we’ll get to the Jets later, but the constant pursuit of a quarterback is exhausting. I mean, so so really you look at that the the certainly the talent. Uh I love this press conference. Hey, I’m not used to losing. And it wasn’t like in an arrogant cocky way. It was very matter of fact, I’m not used to this and I hate losing. So to me at least the that that that bright light leading the franchise moving forward like to me I think Jackson Dart is real and I think that you do as well. I think most people look at Jackson Dart and say he’s the real deal or at least has a chance to be the real deal. The problem is a lot of the other stuff like the defensive coordinator is an absolute joke. He’s terrible. Uh we’ve talked about Dable a lot and that’s going to be the greater conversation moving forward but he doesn’t strike me as the right guy. And the other thing too is now you get the Shane and you know I I was looking at some of the and I very rarely do this. I’ll do this more in the NBA and even with baseball to see what the Yanks and the Mets might do in the hot sto I very rarely look at the Jets of the Giants finances but I did that today because I wanted to I wanted to see if I could connect some dots and what what a stunner I did. So you look at the Giants payroll which is top 10 in football. All right, it’s pretty high and a lot of the allocation in terms of the bigger contracts are are at defensive players. Well then, and and again, this is a micro thing within the game, but it’s actually not. It becomes macro as you as you size out what the Giants going to be moving forward. When you’ve got four, five, six guys, and Burns has been a rock star, so he’s exonerated clearly. When you got four, five, six guys, as they do, go check the finances making the money that they do, you got to stop the run. I mean, so I I there are a lot of different directions to go to. The main direction is they’re not good enough. But I think the bigger outlying picture here is that Shane hasn’t done a good enough job. Dable hasn’t done a good enough job. The high price stars, quote unquote, Lawrence hasn’t done a good enough job. So I think when you put that all in the pot, S and you turn up the flame and you boil it up. What do you have? You got bleeps, too. That’s what you got. Yeah, but you you again have a team that’s and this time underachieving. You again have a team with a hor horrific record ahead of Halloween at 2 and six. that can’t happen. So all the excitement for the reasons that you mentioned with Jackson Dart or all the talk about their defense and all that stuff again it’s the same record like that that’s the one constant. So and I’m not trying to make Dable the singular reason for their failures cuz I don’t think that he is but you would think that their record would improve here with a couple of wins along the way and you look at some of the ways that they’ve lost these football games and again yesterday got away from many different reasons. You talk about the bad officiating whatever it may be and they just didn’t have enough. You know, Scataboo goes down. That’s a horrible, crippling injury. Going to suck the life out of the team. They’re without neighbors. Okay, but those are to me excuses. Jets went without Gary Wilson yesterday. Like the Jets and their number two receiver, Josh Reynolds. Not cuz he’s good, but they were, you know, they were down on the depth chart. Injuries happen in the NFL. It it it’s all the time. So, I’m not looking at that as an excuse. That to me is not the reason why the Giants are two and six. But yet again, with the quarterback, they found the answer. Everybody believes they found the answer at quarterback with Jackson Dart. Then why is their record the same that it’s been for the last nine seasons outside of the one year which proved to be the aberration with Daniel Jones. And by the way, Daniel Jones is also another to me major indictment. Like you could reference Shane, you could reference the, you know, Bowen, you could reference Dable, all of it together, BT, this is tier four. Like, but think about how I’m with you. I mean, listen, you guys know where I stand on Dable and and this regime. But think about if they were, let’s say they never were able to draft Jackson Dart, and they’re rolling out, you know, Russ the first couple of games. All right, he stinks. Let’s put in Jameus Winston. All right, maybe give Devito a look. Like, that is the that is the difference for me. And that doesn’t change the fact that they’ve got one more win than the Jets. Think about think about the energy that we’ve expended on the Giants. A lot of it’s been positive. That’s the point. Because they’ve earned it. And when somebody does something that is a surprise or, you know, kind of gives us a conviction that they’re moving in the right direction, trust me, no matter what many of you think, we want these teams to do well. It’s better shows, it’s better money, it’s just better stuff, it’s more it’s more it’s good. Trust me, it’s good for business. But I I think when you when you strip away all the positivity that we’ve talked about and you get down to the barebones facts, the Titans have one win, the Jets have one win, the Saints have one win, and the Giants have two. Yeah. So, you know, you say they’ve earned the positivity, but did they? Yes. Only because of the two team. Well, because they beat two really good teams, but but in those three games, and by the way, I was on board with it, and I still believe that they could finish up and win some of these games here, but I actually need to see it. We can’t just say, “Well, everything’s good and the Giants have turned it around.” They won two out of three in those three games. They lost to the Saints. Like the Saints have one win. It was against the Giants. The Giants are still all those different things that we’ve talked about. All that reason for hope. They are still one of the worst teams in the NFL. Yeah. And they really are. But it but it doesn’t feel like that. And why is that the case? It shouldn’t be. They shouldn’t be that big. When you find the quarterback, you shouldn’t be one of the worst teams in the like Cam Ward stinks. I watch a lot of Oh my god, dude. He’s horrible throwing the Now he’s a rookie, whatever. It’s been eight games. He stinks. He can’t throw the football with any accuracy. He’s yelling as head coach. Like it’s ridiculous what’s going on there. So Jackson Dor, yes, there’s reason to be excited and hopeful about him. But this continues to happen to the Giants. And they continue to lose games. Even just a win last week against Denver, we we wouldn’t make this the end of the world losing to the Eagles the way that they did for whatever reason, how how much they got their rear ends kicked, couldn’t stop the run, bad officiating, all that stuff. Had they just won a game that they’re supposed to win because they had the huge lead in the fourth quarter, different story. If they didn’t, you know, turn the ball over five times in New Orleans, different story. If they didn’t cough one up against the crappy Cowboys and that crap defense, different story. But it all adds up to the one thing to me that’s been consistent since Dable has been here. And Shane losing two and six in the first eight games is a horrible record. Three straight years that’s been the case with I know nobody wants to hear this, but I do think that sometimes we we gloss over when when things are so bad. All right. I think we gloss over how how hard it is to get back on track. I mean, think about all the years where the Knicks just buried themselves with draft picks and coaches and GMs and you know, it took one astute hire and and you know, a couple of additions and even though they lost. Yeah, that that you know, you can’t lose to the Heat. I don’t want to see that. But we all know the Knicks are really good. I still think and and this does not give Dable a lifetime pass. You know where I stand again. But think about the indiscretions of Reese and to get them the horrendous draft picks just cycling through coaches. I don’t know. I mean, if it was I feel a lot better about this if it was year two or three for Dave. I I I am I am with you in totality, but again, if the Giants would have lost by three points yesterday, right and they didn’t give up almost 300 yard, but they still lost, right? Are we are we feeling the same way? And if we and we might be, but I’m asking that because if we if we aren’t, well, again, no neighbors, you know, scataboo out like I don’t know what the hell we expected yesterday. Hey, I know, but but we didn’t Well, I didn’t expect that they were going to go in there and win the game. Me neither. I thought they’d lose. I said 3020. Yeah, but they but they got their rear ends kicked. And again, the calls were horrible. The officials were bad. Okay, whatever. But the Giants got their rear ends kicked. Here’s the thing. It’s not just yesterday. It’s a culmination of things. So, when you give up games that you had won on the road in Dallas or on the road in Denver, that to me accentuates a big problem with yesterday’s game. They had to win that to make up for the week before. Brian Dable has not proved that he knows how to win football games as a head coach. As a matter of fact, quite the opposite. Quite the opposite. He’s proven he doesn’t know how to maximize Daniel Jones and Saquon Barkley. That is a that’s a fact. And he’s proven he does not know how to win football games here outside of his first year, which they did it well, but they did it with limitations as well. I’m not going to take it away from him, but you needed to build off of that. Two and six in each of the last three years. Enough of the excuses. It it’s but I don’t I don’t really think people are making excuses. I think everybody’s saying fire table. Yeah. Don’t you think? But but I think that I think it got overlooked because of Dart. And by the way, he’s going to have nine games to go. So there’s no need to say fire him now. I’m just saying that their record should be better than two and six. Whereas the last couple years you like, wow, what would you expect? They were a horrible team. They should definitively be better than two and six. When you find the quarterback, that should be the answer. And yet for them it’s still a problem at let me so whether it’s ah Frabel’s doing a good job with the Pats. I mean give me a not I don’t mean a Hall of Fame coach. Give me a good coach that’s d I’m going to stick for Vable. I said Vable good with Tennessee. Here come the Pats. Right. If Vel’s coaching the Giants this year and and he’s got the same personnel. Are they better than two and six? I think they I think they probably have two more wins. Yeah. I think that they probably would have found a way to beat the the the the bad certainly the Saints, but I don’t know if they beat the Chargers. I don’t know if they beat the Philadelphia Eagles the first time that over a Metife. I don’t know that the Cowboys and Broncos games are inexcusable and it’s on top of it’s on top of giving games away with their kicking situation last year. Like the same stuff continues to happen and it’s year four. So why would I believe as somebody who’s been a backer of Dable and I love his fire and I loved what he did yesterday with throwing the challenge flag because they did get screwed. But at some point you have to ask yourself like the losses just continue to mount up two and six again through the first eight weeks of the season. Unacceptable. BT and Sal and the fan. Because because they have the quarterback. You need it to result in wins, don’t you? Or you don’t care about that? I I think eventually you do, but I think you got to be patient. It’s year It’s year four and thank you for the call. Year four with Brian Dable. I think the question is and I I think I know the answer, but I mean that’s why I’m going to have her these phones today. All right. So, we know they’re going nowhere this year. There was a little flicker of hope. Maybe it got hijacked a little bit. The reality of maybe what they could do this year because of the two teams that they beat and the quarterback and Scataboo and the energy. All right. A lot of that dissipated yesterday. But but they should have beaten the Broncos, too. I I agree. I That’s true. No, I I get it. I get it. But if you ask the Giant fan right now and you start to look forward to to next year and and a belief with, you know, a few more pieces on the roster, which they need to get clearly, I I just don’t think that the Giant fan is going to feel great about Dable coaching this team. I don’t. Yeah. And again, we’ll have nine weeks to definitively figure that out. My whole thing is through eight weeks, like the reason why the Giants are two and six is not because they have a rookie quarterback with growing pains. They coughed up two games that are inexcusable to lose on top of Dable and his staff, whoever it is, defensive coordinator doing this for years, giving away games. Wins in the NFL are hard to come by, obviously. Look at the two crappy teams that we have here for the last, you know, two decades, whatever it’s been. So, wins are hard to come by. He, Dable, and his staff have given them away. No kicker, bad call. That goes back to last year, too. I’m saying if I looks if I look at their first eight games now, I’ll be I did not expect them to beat the Broncos, but they played much better than I thought and should have won the game. I did not expect them to beat the Eagles. That kind of went according to plan. No harm, no foul. However, they should not be two and six. And at the end of the day, two and six through eight games, however you want to slice it, to me, it’s not because of a rookie quarterback that’s learning his way. He’s elevated them. Dude, I think they’d be they might be 0 and8 without Jackson Dart. I think he’s the only reason they’ve got two wins, right? Think about that. But even so, they should have still won at least the Cowboys game with Russell Wilson. Bad cold game. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, that we went that was week two with Bowens. Talk about the prevent, you know, that that happened in the Broncos game as well. It feels I’m I’m trying to be positive like and and not just gravitate to something that is not real like I I’m not going to do that. You’re not going to do why do that? But to me, like the future is still bright because there’s a lot of things I don’t like. Jackson Dart’s gonna be I think he’s gonna own this town, man. I don’t think this is a mirage. Now, the one thing that worries me, and this is on Dable, when you’re down multiple scores and there’s five minutes to go in the game, please don’t put this kid in harm’s way. I’m not saying you got to you got to wrap them in bubble wrap or and or pull them from the game, but you know, designed runs, I mean, let’s dial it back a little. The last thing you need is a concussion or a separated shoulder when you’re getting your face kicked in and you don’t have a chance to win. It’s one thing if you try to steal the game, but you’re in it, you’re in it, and it’s a one-sore game. So, there’s there’s got to be a little of a recalibration there, but like I’m just trying to put my mind back to last year, late October versus late October this year, and it’s much better now just because of not because of Dable, because of Dart. The the tush push they’ve they’ve got to outlaw because these horrible officiators uh officials can’t officiate the play. I mean, there’s no way forward progress was stopped. You even look at the replay, the whistle didn’t blow till well after the Giants, right? But that’s not why that’s not why they lost the game. And we will get more into that season when we come back. Got to take a break here. But that’s not why they lost the game. But you’re telling me it’s not a different game. It’s 7-7 at that point. We ripped that ball out. You’re taking one touchdown off the Eagles off. Yeah, it might be a different game. It could be. It might be a different game there. And then how about you give us the touchdown where Sllayton did not commit commit PI. And then also on the Scataboo injury, that was an illegal hip drop. No flag thrown there as well. So I mean you you had probably by far the worst officiated game of the year. Why they lose one that was coaching 100% previous. I’m not saying I’m not saying then I don’t want to hear about the officials. They’re two and six C and thanks for the call. So it’s not about the officials yesterday against a team that is better than them. Like it’s no shame to say the Super Bowl champs are better. How come Saquon Barkley gashed the Giants? Saquon Barkley’s done nothing all year long. First play of the game, the guys taking one to the house, 65 yards, whatever it was. Where was the officiating on that? Was that bad, too? 276 yards on the ground, 8 and 1/2 yards a pop. That is just uh the Giants run defense is absolutely sickening. But you know what? We got to get to the officiating. It was It’s just unacceptably bad. It It was really I do think it would have changed. Not necessarily a win, but if they made the right calls, I think the Giants, if the Giants have the ball last, they got a chance to steal that game. That’s how bad the refs were. As bad as the Broncos loss was, as bad as the Giants loss was to the Broncos last week, it was even worse for Cincinnati to blow that game to the Jets. But we’ll get to that coming up at 11:00. You know, you mentioned the the referees, the caller brought that up before the game, before the uh break there, BT on the other side. The officiating was awful. And I agree that Dable should be ticked off, should have thrown that flag. The the NFL does this far too often where they want to use replay and try to get things right, but yet not all the calls right. And that is another egregious bad call that did change the feel of the entire game. I’m not saying the Giants would have won, but certainly that was a call that went against him that should not have. That was a joke. I mean, the selective nature of what could be reviewed and what can’t is it’s just I mean, it’s it’s mind-bendingly idiotic. Uh, we sit here every week and you don’t even know the rules is a faint. Like, can you review that? Oh. Oh, wait. You can’t. Oh, you can. Good. I mean, the tush push play with with with Dibido was I mean, that’s that might be the worst call of the year. That was a 100% giant ball. End of discussion. I thought there was a bad call on Wondelle Robinson uh when he was called for a block in the back. the neutral zone infraction. Uh who was it on the Philly line where they clearly move first and they call the penalty on the Giant not even close the Sllayton touchdown OPI. The guy was grabbing his wrist when he caught the ball. So I mean they listen it is a hard game to officiate. They’re bigger and faster than they were when the game was invented. I get that. But last yesterday really may have been the worst officiated game I’ve ever seen for any Jet or Giant game in my life. It was awful. You think the league just wanted the Eagles to win? No, I don’t think situation. I don’t think that. I know some people think that. I know. I still don’t think that guys aren’t that good. There was It was 15 calls going the wrong way. Let’s focus on the Kavon Thibido won the push there. That’s the big one because they said that forward progress was stopped, which is why they blew it dead and he can’t be a fumble. If forward progress was stopped, give me whistle and he and he would have been short. He lunged forward on that second effort. So it’s either okay if I’m Dave and I say yeah you’re right. First of all I didn’t hear whistle but if it is forward progress stopped. Look where he was stopped. He was stopped short. He extended on the the second try and that’s when Tippo ripped the ball from him. So it’s either got to be short or it’s a fumble. Not what happened. That is such BS. I’m glad Dable was livid because that was right. Even though they’re like no you can’t challenge that. No screw. challenge. No, this is not right. This is not right. The league needs to do some apologizing. The problem is it changed the the whole game. Again, I’m not saying the Giants would have won, and I’m not making excuses for it. You got to go out there and play the game regardless. But that is a blatant, horrible call that impacted the Giants in a negative way that should just not be allowed with the way that we have replay in the NFL. Here’s what’s so unfair about this. So, any team that plays the Eagles, I don’t know how much time they devote during the week to get ready for the tushbush. Nobody stops it, but you devote a lot of time on film and trying to uncover some little crevice to get an advantage that all the other teams couldn’t uncover. And here you are, whatever was said during the week, you were coached up, everybody was buttoned up, you did what your coaches told you to do that the entire league can’t do, and you don’t get rewarded for it. It it it really it it’s the height of frustration because they allowed him to treat the the the first down marker like the goal line. If we know this, this is basic stuff. If you reach over in the goal line and it gets knocked out, too bad. It crossed the plane, whether it’s a tick, whether it’s an inch of the football, the nose of the football, doesn’t matter if it gets knocked out. Cross the plane, touchdown. Okay? If it crosses the plane of a first down, and your knee near elbow is not down, the play’s still going, knocked out, loose ball. Inexcusable. It’s unacceptable. No apology is going to undo it and make it right. But the league has problems because you can’t allow that to happen. There’s no way that a call that bad should not be overturned by common sense, by replay, by looking at, and by the way, that’s not the only call. Like you watch a lot of the NFL stuff like that happened. There was a play in the Buccaneers game where the guy returned a fumble to the house, but yet they blew it down. It’s like ridiculous. It’s ridiculous. If you’re going to have replay, make sure you get the calls right. And they still get it wrong all the time. There’s a lot of money being bet on this stuff. You know, the fandom obviously takes president over all that stuff. Giant fans don’t care about the money bet on it necessarily, unless they’re ones that had it. But it it should not you you can’t get these calls wrong that egregious when they’re that obvious for everybody to see. And watch this and we’ll get back to the calls here. But think about this. I promise you at some point today I don’t know who’s going to drop the first tweet about it, but we will read today at some point on social media. An experienced coach will come in and help these guys, you know, develop and win ball games cuz that’s what it’s about. It’s about winning and like the preparation, it doesn’t look good. Well, Chris, the team Chris, real quick, bud the push back. We got to let you go there. It’s a little a little fuzzy. the push back for those of you who would say what what Chris just said. Well, you have to at least be fair and say, “Hey, he’s looked pretty good working with Jackson Dart.” And really, that’s probably the most important calculus of the season. No matter what you think or what, no matter what I think, and I’m long ago on the record with Brian Dable, I mean, ownership is going to look at this union and so far it has been successful. I mean, every week the Giants are scoring points. I mean, guys, don’t forget for and they would have scored more yesterday if the refs weren’t so horrendous. Not even the tibotal play, but the but the uh uh the the Sllayton play, which should have been basically 70 yard touchdown. That’s the biggest different and that’s why the optics of the season feel different because they’re scoring with more frequency. There’s and when you score, you look less lethargic, but to what S said to start the show, they got two wins again. Yeah, but they keep losing, right? So, I I am not going to disagree. Obviously, the offenses look significantly better with Jackson Dart. However, then why aren’t they winning games? I mean, they’re two and three. And one of those losses include a horrific loss in Denver that you should never lose when you have the lead that they did. And one was to the Saints even though they moved the football all day. They turned it over five times. So like you you it can’t just be well like I could give him and I did. It happens with a rookie quarterback, rookie running back as Scataboo fumbled as well, losing a game to the Saints. You don’t expect that, but that that’s the NFL. That happens. You can’t have that on top of what happened in week two on top of then what happened in week seven. Those are three games that they lost all three of those games and you can make an argument that they should have won at least two of those three if not all three. That that can’t happen. So I don’t want to hear about how he works together with Jackson. That’s great. They they continue to lose. You got to figure out how to win some of these games. But this is why these calls drive me nuts yet. Now again, I don’t know if the refs actually do their job better. Does Scataboo get hurt? I don’t know. Um do they score a touchdown when when Tibido strips it away from Jaylen Herz? I don’t know. Do they win the game if the slate and touchdown stands? I don’t know. But it’s probably a Well, it’s definitely a lot more competitive. And let’s you know, that’s why I asked you at the start of the show like if they would have lost by a last second field goal yesterday, is it a little different? And I think in some ways it should be even though I’m not in the business of giving out I would say no, my friend. Okay. I I got and I think a lot of people would agree with that. I’m not in the business of giving out style points. I’m not for a loss. You either win or you lose. But, you know, to be fair to the coach, you know, you did just beat the Eagles and if you’re loser, they are the defending champions and you lose by three in Philly. No, but it’s not. It’s I got to look at that as some some sort of progress myself. To me, it’s not that they lost this game. It’s that their record like they needed to make up for the horrific Denver loss by shocking the world and winning this game. Tough task, sure, but that’s what I needed to see. A loss is a loss. Either way, they were going home two and six and they should not be two and six. It’s less about them getting pasted or losing to the Eagles. I don’t care if they if they lost close game again, I’d be saying you can’t lose these games. Like maybe even worse losing another close game. You know what I’m saying? It’s just about the overall record. I I still don’t like the roster. The these are deeper issues, man. You know, now Flat’s banged up, which means the rest of the secondary is jacked up and you’re not stopping the run. I’m going to keep saying this until somebody actually gives me an answer. Looking at this season here, going back with Gable’s track record in the division, how many games you think he won in the division in the NFC East? Five games over the last four. Five. Okay. Five. Five. Five. 16 and one. Yeah. Well, even when even when they beat the Vikings, I think they were 14 and one that year in the division if I’m not mistaken. Yeah. Yeah. 14 and one in the division, he got the uh coach of the year. And now they showed in the first 58 games in the NFL, he anybody that made it to 58 games didn’t get fired before that, he has the worst records 27 and one. Yeah. They just don’t win. So you could make excuse not not make excuses. You could say, “Well, I need to see a little bit more. Let’s see him develop this and that.” I feel like it’s hard to argue for Brian Dable, especially when you factor in what Saquon Barkley did the year after leaving and what Daniel Jones is doing in Indianapolis. I mean, that that is an indictment of Brian Dable, is it not? Not to mention his actual record. You can’t be do can’t be giving away games the way he has the last couple years and expect to keep your job. Yeah. And at the end at the end of this year, what’s his record going to be? 20, you know, have how many wins? 24 wins and 45 losses. It’s like, come on. It’s like we we tried. We tried. Now, let’s get what somebody else has to come in. I mean, it’s four years and thanks for the call, Justin. Good. It’s four years, BT. That’s the thing. If this were year two or three, understood. And I was saying going into the year, like if you’re going to have the rookie quarterback, you it should really be like it’s year one this year and then year two you could evaluate. And I do understand that that thought process. I mean, that was my thought process. However, the way that things have gone here, like I have no faith that even if Jackson Dart is the right guy and he can score a lot of points with Dable and there’s proof to there’s reason to believe that that is the case because there is proof of that that he’s not going to be able to win any games. It’s the same it’s the same thing Shane and Dable they have not been able to win any football games. And if I ask you like the final nine games. Well, I I remember I I we talked about this a little bit on Friday. I think the Giants, especially with without Scataboo, I think the Giants probably finish, I’d say probably four and 13. May maybe five and 12, not more than that. I think they still could win. Those last four games are very winnable. Now, again, who knows with Jaden Daniels, but you’re right, Scataboo out now. That impacts things. Vikings aren’t very good. Raiders, Cowboys, I mean, bare minimum, they should get two of those games and at least one of the next five. No. Well, I mean, you know, I I don’t know. I’m I’m less confident than you. But what I said also is I still want to see him trade for a receiver. This still has to be about, you know, the growth of Dart and get him somebody out there without neighbors. You know, it’s good to have Sllayton back a little bit, but and Robinson’s looked better. You still have to treat this as if there’s, you know, there’s meaningful football, which of course they know. The only thing that I would add and I’m not pushing back on moving on from Dable. I’ve been saying it for a long time, but it is important to say, you know, the the present it properly. There’s rebuilds and then there’s almost impossible rebuilds. Like there’s situations where a team is really good and and and then they they kind of lose their way for a little bit and then you get a coach and he comes in and it’s fairly quick and they become competitive again. You know, the Giants were a three, four, five win team for the greater part of the last 12, 13 years. So the talent base was thin, the fan base was beat up, the executives were a disaster. Well, that is the thing, Luke. It was shocking. Like maybe maybe we shouldn’t have been because we knew he needed a a kidney transplant, but I didn’t like I didn’t think it was like this. I thought he had a lot of time. I really didn’t. Or at least at least sometime. This happened a couple of weeks ago. I was sickened when I saw that and shocked. Can’t 41 years old. God. I mean, that’s just four kids. God. Yeah, definitely. Definitely. Well, I I’ve been on the Shane and G uh uh their their whole situation there. Okay. If you look at the Giants defense, I was going to call last week, they should have never lost the Denver game. If anybody knows going out to Denver, is that you have to have a substitution pattern to play in that air. If you don’t have a substitution pattern on defense, you’re not going to win the game. And that’s exactly what happened. Was practically dead out on the field, he couldn’t even go. I mean, you knew every time Denver had the ball, they were going to score. So, that was right there. But the You don’t think the Giants You don’t think the Giants knew that? I mean, the altitude is not some new revelation here. Well, I mean, I I’ve gone through this, you know, I’m I’m not going to say I’m I’m a coach. I’ve been through that before. When I went in there with no substitution pattern, I’ve lost the game. When I’ve gone into Denver with the substitution pattern, I’ve been right there in the fourth quarter and I have won the game. So, it’s a I I have found that that works. You know, everybody has different trials and tribulations that you go through, but I definitely think the air quality out there has a huge factor and you have to have a game play for that. But that’s just me personally because of what I’ve been through in those situations. But I definitely think Where’d you look? Where’d you coach? In in uh college, some of the big time division one colleges. There you go. Nice, man. Yeah, I was I I we were out there. We’ve had to play the teams out there in those situations. And trust me, I’ve asked athletic trainers. I’ve gone through the whole process. You you have to have when you try to breathe that air in after you’re gassed and you try to take that breath in and you’re trying to get it back. I mean, you saw what happened to Burns. That’s exactly what happened. I don’t doubt that, Luke. Luke, I don’t think any of us doubt that. And thank you for the call. But, you know, the Giants starters, especially, you know, once you get beyond the the line of scrimmage and and the, you know, the linebacker, like their secondary is not even that good. So, I mean, I don’t know what substitutes you want to lean on. They’re pretty thin. Yeah, I that to me is not the excuse why they lost the game. I mean, you could say it was a factor. Sure. It doesn’t excuse you scoring 32 or giving up 33 points in the fourth quarter. That’s my issue with this whole thing where at the end of 8 weeks, we look at it again before Halloween and say, “God, the Giants are 2-6 again. How the hell did this happen? Cuz it feels totally different.” Well, it’s understandable if you lose to Philadelphia and you split their season series. Actually, you’d sign for that before the year. What’s not understandable or acceptable is the way that you coughed up a game in week two, which the the way you played in New Orleans. Like, I’ll give them New Orleans if they win week two. I’ll give them New Orleans if they win week two and then again week seven against Denver. You can’t have all three of those go against you. And that’s something that’s been happening in Dable’s tenure outside of his first year. And even that year was like, you know, kind of the rebuild and just making the most of what he had to work with, which was not much. And they had great success. you can’t completely fall off the cliff the next three years. And that’s what happened. Whether it’s not having a kicker, whether it’s getting off to a slow start, whether it’s blowing games late, the prevent defense, too many of these things have happened that continue to add up to losses. And their record definitively shouldn’t. They are better than a two-6 team. And yet, here we are again, and they’re two-6. Yeah. I mean, I don’t think they’re much better. I’m not going to argue in terms of they should have found a way to beat Denver and beat the Saints. I get it. But then I I kind of offset that a little bit by beating good teams. Either way, they’re they’re not good and and the record says that here. The problem though is that and this it sucks before November 1st that this is already the conversation that we will have to have pretty much every day. Anytime I talk about the Giants about the head coach, he just doesn’t have enough equity here. He doesn’t have the belief in the fan base where I just I don’t think he’s going to get much of a pass. I’m not even saying that he should. But if you say they’re not good enough, then that’s on everybody. Oh, I agree. That’s why I brought up Shane earlier. No question. Well, because they should be I believe they should be better. They found the quarterback. So, what’s the excuse? Like, this is not I don’t look at this situation say, “Well, they got the quarterback, but they need to rebuild everything else.” That’s what would happen in year one or year two. This is year four. That That’s It shouldn’t take you 15 years to build a roster. Like, Joe Shane could get the benefit of the doubt or the pass in year two, maybe a little bit in year three, not year four. So, the hard part was finding the quarterback. And by the way, the quarterback that they had for the first three years is playing like an MVP the year he leaves them. So when you encompass everything, I think it is a clear, direct shot that Shane and Dable just have not been good enough. End of story. The record speaks for itself. What other players have done elsewhere also speaks for itself. Yeah. Player development and then, you know, utilizing players and putting them in the proper spot. I got you on all that. Think about this. The the overunder for the Giants win total was what, five and a half coming in. So as Vegas, and again, not that they’re always right, but that was prejack dart. True. No, I I get it. But it’s generally a road mapap to get a sense of the talent base on each team. And of course, they incorporate schedule, some circumstances, injury, preseason, whatever. But the people who do this for a living, the Sharp said this team’s not good. So, we shouldn’t be surprised by this. And they didn’t say that the overunder was five and a half because they didn’t think that Dable could manage down the distance with two minutes to go in the fourth quarter in a divisional game. They said that the Giants would likely be in the neighborhood of four or five or maybe six wins because the roster is not good. And that goes back to Shane, right? But then when Jackson Dart took over, things change. I know, but he’s still the rookie. He’s still the rookie, S. To me, it’d be different if they were two and six with Russell Wilson and then we say now, okay, well, they got through a very difficult part of their schedule turn and their season’s over at two and six. Now go to Jackson Dart. They fired the bullet with Jackson Dark going to him early and they’re still not good enough. That to me means now I don’t know what the ownership is going to do. Yeah. But but like I don’t know what more evidence we need to see to realize that Shane and Dable aren’t it. The only other thing that I would say is so about the situation that you just let’s say they stuck with Russ or even Jameus until now and then they just fired the the Dable pardon me the um the dart bullet and we’re about to see what what dart is. Like pretend we don’t know yet. He hasn’t played yet. It’s been Russ. It’s been Winston. Well, you know waiting for that bullet to be fired there. you know, at at least we have the tangible, like the proof, even though it may have been fired early, even though it’s not going to change the Giants season. Some people think it was fired too late uh in terms of giving the reigns to Dart, at least we know definitively they got the quarterback. So now, if they think that they can find a better GM head coach duo, I’m all for it. I’m not saying that I wouldn’t do that, but the biggest piece of the puzzle, ask the Jets, ask the Titans, ask the Browns, ask the other trash teams. We’ll get to the Jets coming up. I’m happy for the franchise based on what happened with so many things yesterday. We’ll talk Jets, but the inability to find a quarterback. The Giants did the thing that’s so evasive and elusive for so many and that’s what complicates this analysis because we don’t really believe in the coach. I I just I really you guys I think Hoff texted us and I was watching my daughter’s soccer game so I was kind of unplugged from social media as I as I am when I’m watching my kids play and I I just heard the ding and I’m like like I I don’t know that I’ve been that stunned in a while bro you know when when people get older yeah it’s sad like when coach Cardeka passed away and I was in Dallas during Thanksgiving I was really sad but he was 99 you know and you’re talking about a man with four children and a wife um you know we get wrapped up in this radio thing and the sports thing and you know our teams at the end of the day it’s just uh you know it really doesn’t mean a whole lot 41 years of age so that the Jets family did a phenomenal job of of the with the tributes you know Derell Rivas and former players I watched Bart on uh on SNY Willie Cologne couldn’t even speak uh before he was able to compose himself Rex Ryan on ESPN was I mean balling this is a man who was loved by a lot of people. Nick Mangle, man, that’s the first thing before we even get into the game. It’s I It’s like I can’t shake it, you know. It’s weird. I still feel it and I still think about it and it’s eventually going to pass. Um, you know, and he’s in a better place. I certainly believe that, but the suddenness of this like we just had him on the show. You were off. I had him on August 26th. He was on our show. I I don’t remember it. So, that’s all August 26th. And you know, when you hear kidney and dialysis and transplant, you you know, there’s urgency there. But didn’t you think there were at least a couple of months runway to get this thing and I figured somebody was going to donate the the kidney to him and and get them all good to go and back up and running, however that would take. I was shocked when I saw it on social media. Shocked and disturbed. Like you said, it takes a lot for me to get to that level just being through some of the stuff that I’ve been through. It’s not 41 years old is like come on, man. That’s horrible. I did not and such. like you said, such a big personality and lovable personality for years, even without knowing him. You could feel that across the TV or wherever it was, hearing him on the radio, all those different things. I didn’t realize though that the Jets, so he’s in their Ring of Honor that I So then I knew that they were on it, but I get the Ring of Honor confused. I thought I assume that Ring of Honor is also number retired like 74 should be retired. Uh yeah, sometimes I get confused with that too. I like ah I mean a guy’s going to be a Hall of Famer eventually. his his numbers are are there. You’re talking about, you know, seven Pro Bowls and and a couple of old pros. Everybody knows what he did. But the the thing about the the Jets that’s really unique and why he’s unique. Think about some of their all-time players and he is one of their all-time players. Like Grievous was an all-time player, but he bounced and he won a championship elsewhere. And you know, Nameoth fizzled out with the Rams and you know, Kean left and Curtis came from the Pats. And I could go so on and so forth, but there’s very few players in Jets history that played their entire career here and were really associated with winning. If you really think about that, what what Jets win that you really think about that guy was a winner. Well, he was. I mean, he went to back-to-back AFC Championship games and he was a great great player. So, it’s just it is really really sad and and it keeps pouring in and and we’ll we’ll keep his spirit alive. I don’t you I don’t I don’t know how I don’t know what else to say. I I really don’t. I I think about this stuff and I I I really struggle and then we’ll get to some game stuff. I really I don’t know if you if you do do this too. I struggle when some when it’s tragic. I don’t mean an older figure. Well, even though that could be sad for sure. When there’s a tragedy, I always feel like I’m not going to say enough. Like I’m not going to be able to communicate what’s really in my heart. Like I I don’t because it’s a different conversation. We’re used to opening up the microphone and letting it rip and talk and shop. But so I I I I just hope that everybody knows how much this this man was loved. You do. You you you absolutely do. And I hope that you know how much I love him. Nick was the best. And it was nice to see the Jets honor him by getting a win yesterday, their first one. Obviously on the road like that comeback fashion. Uh a a really incredible performance, BT, when you think about it. And this is something that I was a week early with this. This is something that I expected them to do against the Panthers a week ago. Run the football. You you don’t need Gary Wilson or Sauce Garner to stick to your strengths running the football and that’s something obviously Mangle could have been proud of behind that offensive line run the football. That’s when they had their success years ago with him up front with Brook Ferguson all that stuff. So the Jets are built to do that and they haven’t done it nearly enough this year at all. As a matter of fact, I would say the Fields yesterday I was expecting him to run a little bit more. He wasn’t running it. He was throwing the football. So an overall incredible comeback. I’m not going to say it was a great performance because it wasn’t. I mean, down as big as they were, just on the on the brink of getting the knockout punch, but they hung in there. They did show grit to the head coach’s uh, you know, pleasure. He loved to to see that. A nice gritty performance, but an impressive win to get their first win, get off the Schneider, and maybe calm things down a little bit, getting that goose egg off the board. And I enjoyed it. And I know not every Jet fan did, which is part of the torturous history of being a Jet fan because now, now I don’t think this is the majority of people because it’s still a little bit too early in the season for this, but I’ve seen some stuff. I even got some texts from buddies. Uh, here we go. Jets going to give up the first overall pick because of this win, guys. I mean, it’s too early for that. And I’ve been criticized for this. Not that I care, but I’ve been very open with you guys. Like, when it’s late in seasons and the Jets are awful, I’ll bet against the Jets. When it’s late in the season and we’re talking about first, second, third overall pick, I don’t want the Jets to win. This is different. First of all, if the Jets, and I never thought they were going to go winless. I never thought that at all. But if they did, there’s zero chance Aaron Glenn comes back. And I don’t know if Aaron Glenn’s going to eventually be the guy who gets the Jets out of the doldrums here, but you know, you you’ve got to at least give them a a chance to plant some seeds and and and and stack some bricks here. So, I don’t get wrapped up in the draft stuff. Number one, I thought they played hard, which is great. I don’t know how they won. I still don’t know how they scored almost 40 points. The Bengals stink. I know, but so the Jets are worse. I mean, we all know the Bengals defense is wretched, but we all know that the Jets are right there with the Titans and the Browns. So, when I found out about Nick’s passing, I was watching my daughter’s game. When I I had to leave and my son had a football game, so I was watching then DVRing whatever the the Daily Juggle that a lot of us do. When I told him that the Jets won when we got in the car, I was like, “What?” And then we went back and we watched it and like even though I knew that they won, there were still points of the game. I’m like, “There’s no way they’re going to get this first down. There’s no way they’re going to win this game. There’s no way they’re going to convert this.” You did the pod yesterday, right? I did not do the pod. No pod. I didn’t. No. I had I know. I know. I just had too many family commitments. You finally won. I know. I know. At the end of the day, family’s going to win out. Trust me, it’s one of the only pods. It’s the only pod that I’ve missed. And I’m going to I’m going to make one up either tonight or tomorrow for sure. But I couldn’t do the immediate reaction. I let people know. Yeah, it would have been nice to get on there and talk about a win. It really would have been nice. Now, where does this go? Like in the context of the standings. I don’t even care. Like that’s that’s not the story. The story is the clown owner uh ran over the the quarterback with a Mac truck during the week. Uh the slings and arrows were everywhere and the Jets showed a little character and a little fortitude on the road against a very good offensive team that is awful on defense and they won a game. So I’m not going to make too much more out of it than it really is except that I’m happy because you know the day that we lost Nick the Jets did find a way to win. But I am happy for Aaron. Like I you know and and you and I do share this belief. We don’t agree with everything with with the Jets and Glenn. You and I both think that there’s that there’s leadership qualities with him uh that that could come out and could be uplifting in the right circumstances, right? Yeah. Well, I mean, I need to see him get through this now and build off of this. I even throughout the course of the game yesterday, there were certain things like kicking that first field goal after he went for it from his own 37. Why would you then on fourth and one settle for three? Now again, you want to say take the points, okay, to add up to a Jets victory, but there are certain things just about the way he coaches where I still think and it just could be a learning curve. First time head coach 0 and7 going in where he’s on his heels a little bit. I’d like to see a little more decis decisiveness, a little more confidence there. I I couldn’t I was perplexed by the broadcast being they were dumbfounded by the fact that the Jets were going for two when they were down uh seven at the point. Hold on. Let me No, they were down. Well, they just they scored the touchdown and they needed the extra point to get them to within seven. Yes. And they go for two. And that to me was the no-brainer right move because if you don’t get it there, you just go for two again. Like that’s an easy spot. And they were surprised. You’re right. Like what are they doing? They they it took them a little while to figure it out. So I thought that that was the right call for Glenn and then obviously getting that call overturned the right thing. So there were some good things, you know, some bad things as well. I mean Chase Brown was gashing him all day long. They couldn’t stop the run. So there’s a long way to go. But the fact that they could bounce back at a game that they were on the verge of getting b, you know, blown out in to come back and actually get a win. And I did think after the way that they performed against Carolina, which to me was despicable at home against the crappy Panthers to perform like that. I did think they were going winless or at least it was a real chance of that. So they bounced back and found a way to beat a bad Bengals team. I don’t see many wins left on the schedule here. Now, at least that they got the first one, rest up during the by-week year and then kind of start season two where you had the experience of eight games, you’ve got to win, you’ve got to buy. I’m very curious to see what Aaron Glenn’s team looks like after the by year against a soft schedule. But I don’t even I I still don’t think the Jets are very good at all. It gives you a different level of entry though and and it’s you know it’s a chance now for Aaron to have some of his con not not his contest but just some of his messaging root now because no matter how and he’s been combative and he’s been a little antagonistic with the media all it’s fine if you win uh if you don’t he’s going to you’re going to get yourself run out of town but I think that when you look at a team that’s trying to learn how to win you can say it over and over and you could clap your hands and you can dance up and down the sidelines and you can gyrate and bump your fist and get everybody jacked up. If there’s not a win to reinforce what you try to teach, it’s impossible to move forward. Small step forward, but a step and a good one. So, it’s good. Needed to win. And uh listen, some of my steam had uh fallen off and I may have missed a couple of your responses, but my reason for calling was just getting hot and bothered by a caller saying that we got to get rid of Bball. I mean, I keep having this conversation with friends, family, co-workers, and I’m just I’m I’m sick of it, honestly. Like, people keep saying get rid of like you just hire the next guy and it’s it’s all going to be, you know, rainbows and butterflies. I can’t think of a harder job in professional sports or football besides being an athlete than the head coach. I say this all the time to my friends and family. It’s skills over schemes. If you don’t have the skills, the schemes don’t really matter. I mean, people want to move on from from dayball and, you know, you get the next guy. What happened with Bellich? He was gone. I mean, uh, the skills were gone when Brady left. He the schemes didn’t matter. They they weren’t good. Yeah, but hold up. But then they got the right guy in Vrabel after a one-year disaster. And look at them now. I mean, that’s fair enough, but they also got Drake May, a couple other All right. Well, the Giants have Jackson. Zack, do you think what what I want to get back to, you think Dable You think Dable’s done a good job here as a head coach in four years? I don’t think he’s done a good job, but he’s had an incredibly difficult task at hand. He’s had a garbage roster. Well, everybody, everybody that gets fired, they could probably say the same thing. you either because very rarely outside of maybe Joel Tory and a few others like how many times do you start a a job where the roster’s ready to roll. It’s very rare generally you take over a trash team either the finances are out of whack or the roster’s out of whack and you have no quarterback. So I get it but the end of the day Zack you either elevate or you don’t. And for me I think for many the elevation has not been enough. That’s all I’m saying. I have I have a quick question. I want to say one thing after this, but one quick question. Besides clock management, um, how do you really say a coach is doing a god awful job? He’s picking he’s picking bad defensive coordinators. He’s losing. That’s how So that’s not ball then. So why can’t we? It is. Who is it? Who is it? It is Dable. He’s the head coach. I mean, I I guess you’re fair. He’s He’s picking the staff. I understand that. you know, he’s I guess the staff’s got to be better. The scheme’s got to be better. But how do you know a scheme is bad until you put it out there against other starting players? Schemes look good in practice when you’re going against second, third string guys. Everything was good in practice. Zack, look look at And thank you for the call. Look at his record. Look at how they’ve lost two games this year. They had no business of losing. They score a dagger touchdown on the road in Dallas. Under a minute to go, they lose that game. They do the same thing against the Broncos and they lost again. And if you blame the defensive coordinator, great. And nobody likes the defensive coordinator. Who brought him in? If you don’t like the players, then that’s Joe Shane. It’s year four. They’ve they’ve botched the kicker situation, which cost them games this year, last year. Like, they continue to lose. They’re two and six. And they found the answer at quarterback. Oh, and by the way, in case you forgot, look at what Daniel Jones is doing in Indianapolis. Why couldn’t Brian Dable do a fraction of what Daniel Jones is doing with Stiken in Indianapolis? Like I’m sorry. I’ve been a bagel. A a bagel. Yeah, I love bagels, too. I’ve been a Dable backer. I’ve been a Dable backer, but like I just don’t No, we’re going to see nine games. There’s no need to make a decision now. True. But but two and six is is two and six. And it’s been that way for the the last three years. Listen, I can understand why Zack pushes back a little bit. I I really can. Now, last year, I would have understood that at all because there was just no evidence. The evidence this year is all right, he’s got good synergy with the young quarterback finally, which is what you are. That’s mission number one. Find the quarterback, find a coach that’s compatible, whether it’s personality and and and scheme and and let’s roll with it. There’s also a lot of evidence that he is not a plus coach in late games and for all the reasons that we just chronicled. I don’t need to keep spit them out. We know what they are now. But I but I do get what Zach is saying and which is why we’ve got nine more games to go and we’ll see where it goes here. I I am just of the mindset if they believe that they can identify a better coach, a proven coach, unless it was like Lane Kein who came from Old Miss and he did pro, you know, he coached in the NFL not very good, not very well with the Raiders at all. Like I’d be open to that. I’m not bringing I’m not just going to fire Dave and say, “Well, what do I do now?” Like there’s got to be a plan and if the plan’s appealing, well then I’d move on. There just been little things whether it’s yelling at the headset with Wing like there’s been over four years evidence that you know those things can could potentially be a detriment losing your cool as well as a head coach. He’s definitely emotionally volatile. I get it. And when you got the wins and people like look at this guy’s intense he’s nuts. He’s engaged. He’s a nut job. When you don’t win and you’re a little emotionally at least the perception that you put out there a little volatile emotionally. I’m sure he’s a little bit different in the building. I would hope. Uh, well, then you’re not going to get the benefit of the doubt when, you know, when you win three, four, five games a year. I don’t know, man. I I think that they’re going to lose a lot of games the rest of the way. And I actually think that there’s reasons for that. You know, they don’t have a true number one receiver. Um, I don’t like their secondary. Now, you got Scataboo out. So, I I think though that if if they keep putting up some points and Jackson Dart is balling, I think he’s going to be back. And if Dart continues to grow and and and play well, I don’t think I’d go nuts if he’s back. As crazy as that sounds, cuz I’ve said that I would have fired him last year, but and and the year before. But the thing that’s given me some pause now is man, you you they’ve been trying to find this quarterback head coach relationship forever. You finally stumble upon it or you finally have it and now you yank the cord. I don’t know. I don’t know. Yeah. I mean, yeah. If you don’t think the guy could win. Yeah. I mean, I What’s What’s the excuse? He’s got the quarterback. What’s the excuse? Well, the excuse is the rest of the roster is not very good. It’s not Well, it’s not very good. He doesn’t have a number one receiver. Then Joe, I watch the Jets play Jamar Chase. The Giants are running out Darius Sllayton. Yeah, but did that is that why they lost the Denver game? No, that’s not true. The ability to run the ball. The problem is when you fall behind big, which sometimes they have, you can’t run the ball as much. So, when you look at both and it’s a very easy answer for both teams. I don’t think either team does anything exceptionally well. So, you know, you there’s a lot of road games. There’s a couple of teams that are I just don’t see a lot of wins either way. I I’d love to be wrong. I’m happy Glenn got a win. I’d like to see Dave and Dart look go nuts the I just don’t see it. But when you’re playing when you’re playing without a quarterback and you’re in year one of a rookie head coach, I think the expectations need to be lowered. They should be lowered. Fair. I’ll tell you though, I think I’d rather make less money and not have to deal with the transfer portal and the NIL’s like in a lot of like the money is just it’s grotesque the amount of money these coaches make. But the job in a lot of ways a lot tougher and it’s not resultsbased. You’re getting that job based on what you did. Like obviously you have to earn it to get to that level, but you don’t even have to maintain that performance once you get that golden ticket of a contract. That’s it. Like, put in the hard work, work yourself up, have a successful program for a year or two, get bought by a big school, and you That’s it. Like, in the NFL, man, I wouldn’t want any part of the NFL head coaching the way that that is. Would you rather be Brian Dable or James Franklin or or Brian Kelly? Yeah, I’ll take the college. I You could do TV, jump on game day, play a little gum. Dude, you could go home. I know. That’s it. 54 million. You f Brian Kelly couldn’t be worse with LSU and yet he’s walking away with $50 million. doesn’t have to work a day in his life. But the thing that we gloss over here, and this matters, is that you’re a coach. You’re a coach. I know the money’s amazing. And I just said it myself, go play golf, take a nap on the hammock, have some iced tea on the porch, do a little TV. Like, you didn’t get into coaching because you thought you’d have a $50 million golden parachute waiting for you when you failed at LSU. You got into coaching because it’s in your blood. And you were bouncing around, you know, graduate assistant making 12, 13, 15, 18. Your co coaches want a coach. Okay. Well, I mean, he should have then done a better job at LSU if you wanted to coach. And I’m sure he could go somewhere else. You wouldn’t be able to find me at all. Now, I would like to think that if I were offered that opportunity, I’d do better. You know what I mean? With the with the 14 losses, it’s tough at LSU now because now if you don’t have the money and and LSU doesn’t quite have that fund that some of these other schools do, they’re not going there like they used to. So LSU, the talent that LSU would get is insane. And you knew, see the problem with Brian Kelly, remember when he I think it was at a basketball game. Remember when he took the mic and he gave you the fake the fake accent? Um Baton Rouge. What What are you doing? I know. Well, that’s the thing. Come on. You got to be your authentic self. By the way, speaking of coaching, so I had a little interesting situation over the over the weekend. So, uh, I I coached my first game since I got, uh, got got the Lootski in in the little league, right? And, uh, I go up the whole plate and I don’t I hadn’t ever met these two, at least I didn’t recall these two umpires. Really nice. One young, one old. They’re great guys. Actually, I found out later, big fans of the show, too, in the station. And the guy goes, he looks at me dead pan, not even joking. He’s like, “Oh.” So, they lifted the suspension. Hi, you’re back. I said, “It’s a good line there, Blue.” Did you get suspended? No, I didn’t get Well, I did. I got suspended for the one game, but it’s not I got I didn’t get a Pete Rose suspension. No. How’d you do? Uh, we won playoff game. All right. And we got another one tonight. Oh, you’re back on the sideline or on the bench. I’ll be back there. You’re back in. Yeah, I’m back. I got pulled back in. You’re back in. I’m back in. I did not. This is crazy. It was never It was never permanent. It was just for a couple of different reasons. I First of all, the fall’s very busy for me. It that’s the that’s the main impetus there. But yeah, got pulled back in. Couple of guys couldn’t make it. They said, “Can you jump in?” I says, “Yeah, you know, for my players, anything.” And uh yeah, right back to third base. Run of the bags aggressively. A little two-1 playoff win. You’d rather coach. I’d rather be on the beach. Oh yeah. Yeah. Yeah. All right. You guys want to fire me? Thank you, boosters. Okay. Where do I get my What is it? 50 million. Okay. Where do I sign? See you later. Mike Bellichic’s going to get eventually. I He’s got buyouts and some other thing. Who knows? Legal. He is a What a strange situation that is. God, he’s a weird one because he had the greatest leg. He was the greatest head coach of all time and he ruined his legacy with this Jordan Hudson with North. I can’t believe how bad it’s gotten. No. Like it was bad at the end with New England and now New England having success and Bill has looked like as a like a clown with What is their record? I don’t even know if the top they have two were they two and four, two and five, two and six. I just they coughed a bad one up. I know. They would have had a signature win. I saw that. Um H you know off the top of your head UNCC’s record. Try to pull it up. By the way, my man Mendoza looked really good over the weekend again for Indiana. Yeah, they spanked. Who are they playing? They won. They crushed uh uh UCLA I believe it was. Right. So UNC here is let’s see one win. They beat Richmond. Yeah. It’s basically one double. You pay Richmond, you pay five. That’s it. Is that what it is? Two and five. Wow. All right. So let me ask you, are you sure about that, Hoff? I’m not sure about that. Hoff. I’m not sure about that. I see. Well, what do you mean? Let’s say the Giants absolutely flame out the rest of the way and don’t get that many wins. And that’s kind of what I expect. I expect fewer wins than you do. And let’s say they move on from Brian Dable, as they will if that’s the situation. and Bellichic bounces from UNCC, which he will. He’s got to run from there. You don’t call him? Yeah, you’d have to. You have to call the guy. I know, but I say you have to call him. But I mean, there’s recent evidence that would suggest that maybe he doesn’t have it anymore. You know what I mean? You got to lose the uh you got to lose the honey. She can’t be she can’t be on the Giant sidelines like she is go for that at this point. I don’t know, man. I mean, he’s going to want to salvage his reputation unless he is so madly and deeply in love and and God bless you if that’s the case where the reality of how he’s damaging his legacy is truly not hitting him, but eventually it’s going to like when this season’s over and the tombstone is written for or and placed in the dirt for his one year at UNC cuz it’s not going to be a year two and they’re three and nine or whatever the hell they’re going to be and he’s sent packing and it’s embarrassing. He’s going to want to save a little bit of face here and and what better spot than the New York Football Giants who he rever in place. Let me ask you something. You think Brian You think Bellich would have a better record than Brian Dable right now with the same exact team? Yes. Me too. Yes. Because he’d have a Yes. He’d be more involved in the defense. No question. Not Not by many, but yes, they would have a better a better record. Yes. Yeah. I don’t think he’s blowing those those games either. Whether it be Dallas, whether it be Denver. Yeah, I think so, too. I just think he’s a better he he wouldn’t mess around with the kicker. Like he’s he’s a better he knows how to win games. He knows how to win. The problem has been maybe talent maybe a little too hands-on, especially after Brady left like meaning picking his guy. You know, M. Jones, by the way, has had some success with San Francisco. Yes. But with Jackson Dart, I I mean, I would be very tempted. I am not I would not move on from Dable and go with a first time head coach. That’s where I was going. If they do that, they’re absolutely lost. All right. So then who are the guys? Would you rather have Bellich? Would you go Gruden? I would absolutely call Lane Kein. I’ve said that for Miss I would say. Oh, so I would call Yeah, Gruden. I’d have a conversation with Bellichic. I would as well. Lane Kein. I’d have to see who else gets fired. I don’t know about Lane. What about Mike gets fired? Yeah. Well, that’s a different story. 100%. Yeah. I mean, I don’t think he’s going to get fired, but yeah, probably not. All right, but we don’t know. John Horbaugh. I’m not as high on John Harbaugh as you are. I’m not I don’t know what Kostos is ripping him, too. I listen to him on Sunday. I’m not going to rip him. I’m just saying like without great quarterback play, he doesn’t ever win. I mean, they they just won yesterday without Lamar Jackson. Yeah, but you know what I’m saying. Come on. I mean, he’s won a Super Bowl before with Joe Flacco. Like, I I don’t know. I I believe in Now, again, I I would believe in a resume with these head coaches. I’m not saying he’s the greatest coach right now going, but I would have wanted Jim Harbaugh over him if John Harbaugh’s available. Like, I’d rather get a retread guy like Harbaugh who’s one before. I don’t think Harball’s Brian Bilick like is John Horball here like he knows what he’s doing as far as coaching a football team. I would listen for me I thought there was a point where John Horball was top two top three coach in the NFL. I don’t think that anymore. I think he’s a little overrated. He’s still good. So I’m not saying that he shouldn’t be an option but still been there forever BT. Like you know sometimes being in one spot maybe there’s something to be said for being being galvanized by going to a new spot. I I get you again. You could do a lot worse than John Horbaugh, but the they they cannot the Cardinals sin. If they go coordinator again, I mean, please save us. John is calling from Valley Stream. What’s up, John? Maybe that could change the reality surrounding his job. But he’s actually got to start winning. And through eight weeks, they haven’t won. So, it’s not anymore about, well, can he develop his own quarterback? Not to mention the Daniel Jones thing. Like, I I don’t know how people could overlook that. I know he’s not here anymore, but doesn’t that isn’t that more telling than even Dable’s hideous record since he’s been here? the fact that he had Daniel Jones and in one year Shane Stiky could turn Daniel Jones who’s an MVP and and Dable had him for three years and nothing. I think that that’s an easy narrative and I agree with it a little bit. Not entirely. Shane Stiken’s got a lot more talent. That offensive line has been together for a while. They’re really good. Jonathan Taylor’s having a sick season. They got a tight end. Like they got some weapons, man. I get it. It looks worse. It adds to the ah look at this. Look it. It just makes the organization look worse. I know we got to break though. I got you. The one thing that I do see that’s returning, which is actually in a weird way good. Like there was there was a fair amount of apathy within the Giant fan base for a while. I think the Giant fans I get like they got their teeth back like they’re they’re ready to to like just the fact that they’re that last caller. Think that’s a good that’s a good, you know, good sense of where they’re at. I think for too many years and I don’t blame you like the Jet fans kind of there now to an extent. Certainly before yesterday’s win, you just checked out. It’s going to be awful. You don’t really care. you can’t even muster up or feain real anger. Giant fans gotten their their bite back and you know maybe they win more than I think they’re going to win over these final nine and then season’s on and you know and you know future’s on. We’ll see. You saw what he did in week one. You saw what he did yesterday. You can’t tell me Tyrod Taylor can do that on his best day. He can’t. What’s the What’s the question here? And also, what are you trying to do? Like you you’re trying to build a foundation, try to win some football games. Justin Field’s got to be the guy. It’s a non-starter. Was it contentious again? Honestly, by the way, I continued listening to this book. I picked it back up again. That book I told you, Crazy Rich about the Johnson family. It’s wild. I was like, “All right, I’m not gonna read the book.” book. He I think I think he sent me the book and then I downloaded the audible version of it and I was like halfway through and I was like a I’m not going to do it. But then I picked it back up because Woody’s been relevant again and it reminded me how nuts he is. Anyway, so yeah, so that’s the Jets aspect of it. If they get a big win finally, we’ll see if Aaron Glennow can settle things down and maybe build off of that. As for the Giants, you know, two and six is two and six. Anyway you slice it with the quarterback, without the quarterback, with the defense that they have, without it doesn’t matter. And to me, that is an indictment on the head coach just not knowing how to win. He did a good job of winning his first year, getting a team with less than talent to the postseason. But since then, BT, just too many losses piling up for multiple reasons. It wasn’t just that they lost to the Eagles, and we went into some of the detail with the bad officiating and all that, obviously, the Scataboo injury. It’s last week’s loss to the Broncos. It’s week two to the Cowboys, the way they played against the Saints. Those things can’t happen if you want to build a successful season, a winning season, something Brian Dable hasn’t had now in three years. I’m going to throw something that I don’t even believe has a chance to make any sense, but I’ll just just to be fair to the situation and maybe more specifically cuz I think we’ve been fair to view it maybe through a different prism to open up a little bit of a different conversation. So, we talk about the Saints game and the meltdown at the end of Dallas and obviously, you know, things the way things went yesterday. Even though the officials had their nasty fingerprints all over Giants got absolutely bent over yesterday and everybody knows it. What about and and the common thought is well better coaching the Giants would have won a game or two of those, right? And I understand that. But nobody’s saying that with lesser coaching maybe they would have gotten rubbed out and destroyed. So I mean they’ve only got two wins. No, no, I know. I know. But like to hang 40 in in Dallas, I know that Dallas defense is not good. like Dable had his team ready to go offensively. You know, yesterday if the if the if the refs don’t have such a glaring impact on the game once again, Brian Dable had his team ready to play. He had his team ready to play against the Chargers. Had his team ready to play against the Eagles the first time. Had his team ready to play against the Saints despite the implosion. Had his team ready to play against the Broncos. You could even make the case now it was ugly and this is prejack dart. But for from a competitive point of view, had his team ready to play against the Commanders, right? Ready to play. He just doesn’t know how to win. Well, that’s what I was getting into. Like, does he have enough to win? I I think he does. Yeah. And that’s why I’m making my decision. Like, I’ve given him a pass for the most part over three years. I think he’s had enough to win at the very least two more games than they’ve had this year. And that is a huge difference right now. If they were four and four, this is a totally different situation. And they should be at the very least. And it’s not just a well, any team could have won. Yeah. Okay, understood. They have had two horrific losses with under a minute to go after they scored what should have been dagger touchdowns. I’m not giving even even the Saints game. That can’t happen. And that and he’s done this before. Whether it’s giving away games with not having a kicker last year, whatever it may be. We’ve been in the spot too many times before. You could also say that they should have gone to Jackson Dart sooner in the season. Now, I’m not one of those people, but there are there was a path to the Giants having a season beyond Halloween. And Dable didn’t choose the correct path for whatever reason. A litany of reasons. And again, they’re two and six. I can’t make excuses for that. And I can’t also confidently say there’s going to be different next year. I’m not looking for excuses. Trust me, we don’t want them on the show. Nobody does. Nobody cares about that. You win, you lose, whatever. But the reality is this. He’s been here. This is year four as we know and and I I don’t I don’t know what they were the last couple of years, but I know they weren’t very good. You know, the win totals projected for the Giants were incredibly low among the lowest in the NFL. So, all I’m saying is there’s a difference as we try to contextualize the Brian Dable run here. It’s a little tricky because never once has he been given a good team. He hasn’t been given a good team. So, when you don’t have a good team and you’ve got a massive disparity in talent, as he’s often had, as he’s always had, not often, always. Um, I don’t know. I don’t know what we expect here. Now, you want to tell me, all right, hey, figure out a way to communicate to your coordinator at the end of a game to not go prevent defense, no doubt. That’s on the coach. I’m with you. And I’m not even a real dable believer. I you know that about me. I think that like the Giants to me, they’ve got one outside of the appeal and the future of Jackson Dart. obvious, but the Giants have one supposedly really good unit on their team and that’s their defense. Like they’re front four, front sevenish, but certainly front four, dude. They’re third. They’re third worst in the NFL. All right, so who’s in terms of Well, that’s not Dav’s fault. That’s Shane’s fault. He’s the head coach. I understand that, but that’s Joe Shane’s fault. Why? Everybody loves Avon Dibau. Everybody loved Dexter Lawrence. Brian Burns draft. He didn’t draft him. Now Burns had been great. So you got to give him credit there. You know, not not Dable. You’re talking about Dexter Lawrence. You w I’m talking about everybody on the team on the defense. I don’t think that I think that that was previous GM certainly with Dexter Lawrence. We know that. And I don’t think that Dable said Kavon Thibido. He drafted Abdul Carter. Shane did. Yes. No, I know. So, what what I’m saying is I don’t think that Dable’s ever had adequate talent going into a year. I really don’t. I I think this year they had and that’s maybe where we disagree with this year. And and by the way, that win total, the season uh you know, win total at five and a half, whatever it was, that was before Jackson Dart ever set foot on the field. That was also before neighbors went down for the year. Let me ask you this. Now, this is just one unit. Giants have the blank what worst receiving core in the NFL. I don’t know, 25th, 26th. They got nobody, right? I mean, without Malik Neighbors, they got a couple of young tight ends, whatever. Scataboo’s gone. I mean, what do we expect? But is there a problem scoring points? No. No, no, no. But, but that’s what But that’s what I’m saying. But then I don’t want to hear about neighbors because it’s irrelevant because they’re scoring points. Yeah, but hold on. I I Yeah. Yes and no. Because he’s scoring points without any guys that are really thought of very highly around the league. So to me, that’s a that’s a check in the column for Dable, not a minus. Yeah. I mean, I I don’t I just totally disagree with that. Not to mention the Daniel Jones stuff where I look at it as a direct indictment that Daniel Jones in year one can go to a better situation and had that type of success where the Giants couldn’t figure it out for you know three years here obviously predating Dable as well but Dable also couldn’t figure that out. I just want to say that’s the first time I ever heard a Bellichic to the Giants scenario. That actually makes sense. I’m here for two years. Get this team back to winning. You have no say over personnel. Break Don Schula’s record. It actually makes sense. Like people, you know, have to give us three first round picks to get him, but it’s really endear conversation. And there’s a stat floating around. Last 160 years of the Jets and Giants combined, only one coach has had three losing seasons in a row and kept their job. And so, you’re going to give the GM a lot of credit. He has four picks in the top seven or eight in the last four years because he had two the first year. The coach is two and six for the third year in a row. What? They’re they’re a team. How could you fire the coach right now and keep the GM? Explain that to me. How does that make any sense? They’ll bring in a new GM the next year who will have a coach he didn’t hire who will both have a quarterback they didn’t draft. No, I think I think the one thing we agree on, Josh, and thank you for the call. At least BT and I that if they are going to make a change, it’s got to be both. You can’t keep Shane and Fire Dable. That would make no sense. Dysfunction. Yeah. So, that’s one thing that we haven’t discussed really Shane as much. It’s always going to be about the head coach. And I don’t I actually believe that this year, whereas last year I would get more on Shane, even though the fire was toward Dable, the seat was hot with Dable. This year, I think it’s more on Brian Dable than it is on Joe Shane. I think Shane has done an Shane’s done a better job bringing in more talent that Dable should have better results with at this particular point. One or two games makes a huge difference in the NFL, and that’s what we’re talking about. But I would I would if they don’t win over the course of the next nine games, if they don’t win at least five of those games, I would clean house and get both of them out. I don’t know how they’re going to win five games. I mean, that is a number that is that’s astonishingly high to me. Five wins maybe. I mean, I have different expectations. I think that they should be better. Yeah. Five. Oh my god. I hope so because, you know, I I’ it was pretty enjoyable on this little giant roller coaster for a little bit as it was going up. You know, they they could be favorites in the final four games. I’m not saying they definitely will, but again, you know, know it’s a long season, you know, from now to week 15 even could be different, but they could be favor. They have three of the final four home games. The only one that’s on the road is at Oakland at Oakland at the Raiders. So, they should be able to beat Vegas. They should be able to beat the Vikings at home. Commanders and Cowboys, that’s the way I’m looking at it. I also don’t look at this game against the Niners as an impossibility. The Bears is an impossibility. I think the last two weeks, specifically yesterday, was more about the Eagles being very good. Obviously, some calls didn’t go the Giants way. They should have beaten the Broncos. If you beat Denver in Denver, that to me is the most impressive, one of the most impressive things you could do period this year. And they had that done. And yet the coaching staff coughed it up. So that’s why I maybe have higher expectations looking at the remainder of schedule. If they would have won that Denver game that I don’t know if Giant fans would necessarily feel this way, but I would I think I would I would join you in this regard. It would be the It’ be the most impressive win. Even if they Well, they did. Even beating Philly at Metife, you know, divisional rival. the energy there. Denver’s a different monster just in terms of the altitude, the defense, etc. The Chargers win was really good and and like a little like, okay, here we go. Maybe maybe we got some crumbs this season. We piece this together. I don’t think anybody thinks the Chargers are an elite team. They’re a little flawed. They’re good. They’re competitive and and they when when they play well, they play well, but there’s been too many weeks where I’m like, man, even even when they win sometimes, I’m like, that wasn’t incredibly impressive. that Denver win. If they would have held, especially the way Denver looked yesterday, uh that that one would have resonated for sure. No question. Chris is in Belleville, New Jersey about his Jets. What’s up, Chris? Um, you know, they play they played the Ring of Honor speech where he cracked the Bud Light yesterday, reminded me how how much of a down to earth cool dude he was. So, you know what, Chris, that’s a really good way to describe him. I’m sure you guys saw the the the like the either the videos or the freeze uh the picture when he’s banging on the boards at the Rangers game with his hair and his beard and his blue Rangers jersey. He’s going to be missed, man. He he was a good man. I just I just I keep thinking about his kids. Four young kids. I I see the picture and it’s almost like I like I can’t look at it because I just, you know, we’re we’re dads. I don’t know if you are, Dad. Chris, Sam and I are. And I just look at that picture. I look at his wife. I look at the emptiness. I look at the kids and you just know that their life’s altered and it’s just it’s impossible to explain, man. He’s with 41. Come on. Yeah. Um, absolutely. I one thing about the Jets, you know, look, the game the game meant nothing other than we we’ll remember it as the game that they won for Nick, you know, so to speak. Uh, I hope that when they come back from the buy that Bree Hall still is Jet. I know there’s been a lot of talk about training him. I don’t think they’re going to get back what what the value is that he will give the team, whether it’s Justin Fields, whether it’s a rookie quarterback next year. I think they got to keep Reese Hall um understand that he’s got value and talent and and I’d like to see him stay on the team. Yeah, I’m kind of I’m kind of going the other way here. You know, I’m of I’m of the mind and listen, he’s incredibly talented. I’m of the mindset if I lose a lot with you, even though clearly a running back, it’s not his fault that you lose the way they do. um then I can I I’m willing to go in a different direction if the trade is fair and you know see what we could do here. So if they want No, I’m not giving up Germaine Johnson. That’s somebody I’d like to hold on to. But you know, even if somebody called about Quinnon Williams, who I just don’t think does enough and I know you could hit me with interior PFF numbers, I don’t even really look at that as much, but I just don’t think that he’s quite had the impact. So if you want Q, if you want Gardner, I want to hold on to Garrett Wilson. I don’t need to hold on to Breeze Hall myself, but I think a lot of Jet fans are connected to him because s when you have a bad team and you have, you know, one or two shining lights or home run hitters, you know, whether it’s baseball or football home run hitter, you’re you almost overstate their value. I mean, he’s been here forever. They’ve done nothing. I don’t need Bree Hall. Yeah. I I just want to try to win as many games as possible though in year one. Build that culture and hard to justify moving on from your best offensive piece, especially without Garrett Wilson. Now, it depends on the return. I’m also not just giving him away. It’s got to make sense. If you could get something that you think is going to benefit you next year or in the future, third rounder, you do it. Yeah, of course. Well, I don’t know about I don’t know about just the third round, but I’m saying if it’s something that you think is worth it, third rounder for what, next year? I would strongly consider it. I mean, I’m not committing big money to a running back anyway with all he’s been hurt before. Yeah, I I know. But just replacing that talent is not going to be easy. It’s not, but for $10 million. If Brandon Allen were healthy, maybe it makes it easier. You move on from him. I’m not I’m not locked. I’m I’m not believer in Bree Hall long term. So I’m not locking myself into that. I’m just saying that I wouldn’t be looking to do that now. And unfortunately that’s when they’re going to have to make the decision. Y you know with the trade deadline. What is it? November 4th. Whatever. November four. Yeah. Okay. So you know that’s coming up here. The Jets will have one game be one more game before then. Uh no actually they won’t. Yeah. That’s the buy game is after that. All right. So this so this is it. So now you’re going to tell me you’re going to trade him off of this particular game. Hey you may as well sell high. I mean, if you’re going it’s better than going 13 carries for 23 yards and everybody’s saying, “Nah, maybe he’s not worth like the last impression is going to be strong around the league.” Do you do it for a third round pick? Yeah, I would definitely. Yep. I’m not giving it big money. That’s it. By the time the the Jets actually and he’s an incredibly talented player, everybody knows that. But when they actually fill out the roster, you know, where is Bree Hall physically? Where is he age- wise? Where is he contractually in terms of percentage of the cap? And I know the cap is going up. He’s he he is a he’s a lightning player like a he’s an explosive player when he’s right but he’s not going to be here in three years. He’s not I mean he could also be their future franchise quarterback. He did he did throw a touchdown yesterday which is something that’s been hard to come by for Justin Fields and others. The the funny thing is too with to Mason Taylor. Hey by the way they did Muji hit on Mason Taylor. Mason Taylor could play that is Jets f for all the years that they never have a tight end. Jets actually have a tight end moving forward. I really like Mason Taylor. You look at the the the tape of Breeze throwing that ball. Mason Taylor was wide open. Breeze didn’t throw it. And then the double team comes and Breeze throws it and Mason’s like, “Whoop, I’ll take that.” That was a great pitch. Mike is calling from Pamas. What’s up, Mike? Hey, guys. Um, so just just a comment to um what BT said before, and I and I I understand somewhat where it’s coming from when you say the Giants just aren’t good. And I get it. I’m a long-term Giants fan. I’ll always be a Giants fan, good, bad, or indifferent. But the way I see it, I think the way a lot of Giants fans are seeing it is we’re we’ve been a bad team for a long time. A long time. And I think there’s three levels of teams in this league. I think there’s bad, there’s good, and there’s great. And I think great teams find ways to win games. I think bad teams just find ways to lose games. And I think bad teams that transition into good teams are in a more of a learning curve on on we’re not bad and we’re we’re actually good but we just don’t know how to put the pieces of the puzzle to really be that good solid inthe-middle good team where you’re going to win some games you shouldn’t win you’re going to lose some games you shouldn’t lose but I I think it’s I think it’s an organizationally from from organization top from coach coaches, the players, um, where you have to learn how to come in with a mentality that we are a good team and we’re going to make mistakes, but we have to find ways to win games and be a consistent good team and transition out of that good team to become a great team. And I think that’s where the Giants are falling right now. I don’t think they’re I don’t think they’re a a bad team and I don’t think they’re a great team. I think they’re trying they’re seeing themselves right now as you know we’re pretty good. We got these new rookies that came in. We’ve been dead. We’ve we’ve been stagnantly dead for ages where we’re walking out of the stadium at halftime. We know we’re going into these games. We’re going to get beat. We’re just hoping we don’t get killed scoring 10 points. All of a sudden now, let me finish. All of a sudden now we’re hanging in and we’re beating teams and we’re hanging in games that we normally You’re not You’re not beating teams though. You’re not you you you lost the game. No, we beat the Eagles. We beat the Eagles who are who are a Super Bowl champion team. We beat the Chargers who were a very good team, right? We have to finish you. Like, yes, of course it’s better than what it was prejack dart. Ultimately, you’ve got to win games. This is year four of their regime. And by the way, if it were just about the rookie quarterback that was costing them games, making some mistakes, you like, “All right, well, everything was in place and the rookies made some mistakes, understood, this to me is not that. That Denver game was not on Jackson Dart. If anything, he elevated everybody to have them try to win that game multiple times over and the defense and the coaching staff did all they could to lose that game.” So that is not what you’re talking about. That to me is on the coaching staff. Week two coaching staff. Those are two games. Four and four is a totally different world than two and six. And if this were just the first time that we’ve seen this, then I can understand that. We’ve seen this repeatedly with Brian Dable. That’s all that I’m saying. I think they’re I think their team should be better than what their record says. I don’t you know that by now. I don’t not that they couldn’t have gotten one of those games that you just that you just alluded to. I just don’t think their talent’s very good on offense. I I really don’t. But I will say this, right? Think about all the Giant games we’ve watched over the last x amount of years. It’s like the same script every year. 20 to6 midway through the third quarter, a lot of three and outs, a lot of punts. You know, you get a field goal and you’re like, “All right, here we go. Hanging around. We’re not dead.” Yeah. Two-score game. Like you you really do watch the Giants with a different level of of of hope, uh a different level of anticipation. And you know, there’s a little juice with the Giants here to the point, you know, where is it at the end of the season? Does that juice dissipate? It might if you don’t win a lot more games the rest of the way, which I don’t necessarily think that they will, but at least this year up until now, even including yesterday, it has felt a little different. First of all, the Titans just are absolutely dreadful and pathetic football team, but Cam Ward, who’s not very good, is yelling at his head coach. Think about where we’re at, BT. I don’t care if it’s an interimm head coach or not. Like, think about how many years Mike McCoy has been a coach in football. Not to mention that he was a head coach. Not to mention that he is currently the interimm head coach, whatever it may be. He’s the head coach of a football team. How is it okay to have a quarterback yelling at your head coach saying, “Come on, we got to go for it.” Like, if I’m the head coach, you know what I would have said to Cam Ward? Hey, Cam, with the way you throw the football, I wish I could go for it, but I can’t because you stink. What makes you think that if we go for it, we’re going to get it when you throw the ball in the dirt all day long. We can’t run it, we can’t throw it, nobody can catch it, and you want me to go for it? That’s what the attitude Mike McCoy should have had. I don’t know if he was just too much in the in the game to where he kind of ignored it, but the idea, the goal of Kim Ward, a rookie BT, like that would be bad if anybody did it in my mind. A rookie quarterback yelling at his head coach like that, we have come a long way here. And and to me, it’s not a good thing. The lack of respect in society and certainly in the NFL. The power, the pecking order, the power, the authority is uh is largely gone. It really is. There’s still a few people who can run a tight chip and get away get away with it. And and and Rick Patino is one of them. I mean, you think about the college game. How many coaches have the juice to to really push their players the way Rick does and then, you know, get on them in the papers and and the press conference if if he has to. Those those figures are are dying. And and I think that, you know, Cam Ward, whether it’s Cam Ward or some others, you know, you shouldn’t really be surprised by this. He’s having a kind of like a Jammarcus Russell season. Think about this. He doesn’t have quite as many picks here, but he’s what 50 You have a stats 57% I think. I think he’s 57% completion percentage. Now, that was bad 25 30 years ago when maybe the 62% or so was like the best in the NFL. But nowadays, everybody’s basically pushing 70, dude. Drake May 57.7 is completely 57. All right, so we’ll round it up 58%. So he’s sub 60. Drake May is over 75%. Same with Jared Goff. Tyler Hunt. Well, he only played a few games here. Lamar’s high. Same with Jones is in the 70s. Jordan Love in the 70s. Dak in the 70s. Jaylen Herz in the 70s. And this guy’s wallowing. Just keep going down the list. I’m not there yet. Up there he is. dead last 57.7 and he going to pull that. Yeah, but says a lot. And to me, even if he were good, like you think Lamar Jackson or Josh Allen in their first year, now maybe they were. I I I don’t recall it. You think in their first year as rookies, they were yelling at the head coach having a conversation with the coach about, “Hey, coach, come on. Let us go. Let’s go for it.” This was different. This was, “Come on, Mike. We got to go for it.” When your play clearly indicates, “No, dude. You stink.” And everybody on this roster stinks. Like I and I wish McCoy would have done something about it now. He’s not going to retain this job. There’s no chance that being the case. But yeah, come on, dude. You’re the head coach. Show some show some guts here. You’re right. Where’s the pecking order? Where how can we get to a point where a rookie a rookie is going to question the head coach on the sideline openly? I think part of it social media. I think part of it is NIL in college. Uh I think part of it is just societal norms and and boundaries have been lowered. I think part of it is that schools don’t hold hold young kids accountable. um you know from a disciplinary point of view anymore. Parents don’t do it as much anymore. The nonsense these kids are exposed to. Should I keep going? I mean, I’ll tell you this now. I went to Catholic school 1 through 8th grade and so did my mom. My dad went to public. My mom went to Catholic. When my mom was there, I mean, you were getting smashed with rulers. I I was like the the first generation of of Catholic school students where that didn’t quite happen that much. But I’ll tell you what, I mean, a couple times it happened where you either got, you know, a little slap in the face or or rolled her across the knuckles. I mean, you you you got you didn’t not much, but when you got it, you knew and you didn’t do it again. And when you can’t discipline kids without fear of a lawsuit or some sort of retribution or penalty or, you know, you being exposed to the school board and you losing your job when you can’t do that. Same with police in a lot of ways. When you’re not allowed to police and and use the authority that you that you should have that was granted to you when you either were sworn in or became a teacher, what the hell do you expect is where we’re at. I I’m all for a healthy back and forth, but as a rookie, you you come on, you got to know your place, not to mention that you’ve been awful, but it’s just And it’s not just that’s one example of a world where we’ve seen it endless times. Real no doubt. And you and I share the same mindset with that. Think about this real quick. So whether it’s Cam Ward or Shidor Sanders who still is not playing for the Browns there, think about how close the Giants were to not getting Dart. Yeah, I know. Let that So we can sit here and say ah the Giants are two and six and they are h the Giants probably win four or five games. That’s what I think. And and the coach might get fired. They could have Cam Ward or Sanders right now instead of Dart. To your point and we have this argument all the time. I’m not a believer in tanking. Do you think if the Giants had the number one pick they’d have Jackson Dart? No chance. Zero. They would have tanked. They would have got Cam Ward and we might have been in the same situ a worse situation. Yep. Than the Titans potentially BT and Zal on the fan. Larry is calling from St. Augustine, Florida. We have pride, but I feel like either Joe Tori or uh Cashman sold their soul for the devil for the last championship and uh ever since then, New York’s been in the pits. So, uh, so what I was going to get at is with the change with, uh, I’m hearing all these fans call in about, hey, let’s keep Dable, what is wrong with you guys? And stuff like that. I get I get the sentiment. I agree with some, you know, some of the things you guys are saying, but at at some point there’s got to be accountability. And when you’re a professional, uh, you’re at the highest level, you’re getting paid to do this stuff and paid to win and paid to know these situations that us as fans don’t know that you should know how to win. And um my my little two bit, you know, armchair quarterback stuff. I would say uh if you’re going to look at a change, let’s look at the real original QB whisperer, which is Gruden. Um I mean, he had Brad Johnson, Rich Ganon going to the Super Bowl. If he can win with those guys, Jackson Dart, we’re going to have a dynasty then, you know. But um but anyway, that’s you know, that’s dream stuff. Well, thank you. Very complacent um and low lower risk um you know, more more a little bit easier for a quarterback either way. I was just jotting down a couple things he said. The other thing, Larry, you said that, you know, we’re winners um and we have pride. Well, what we have pride, but we’re not winners. He’s talking about New York Sports fan. We’re losers. Sydney Sweeney, how are you? I’m good. How are you? Very good. So, first off, we’re reading a lot about this. Apparently, you gained a lot of weight to play this role. How’d that go? I did. I gained like 35 pounds for it. How? Um, so I had like two and a half, three months of training. I worked with a boxing coach, a weight coach, a nutritionist, and I would weight train in the morning. At night, I’d box like two to three hours every day. And I took so many protein shakes, creatine, alcarnate, just filling up with calories. Uh, it was a lot. It was I I felt so sick all the time. Was Oh, man. Was it Was it harder to gain the weight or lose the weight to get back to your natural weight? it it was harder to gain it because it one I mean the amount that I had to eat and and consume was a lot and then whenever I started adding the boxing element in I started losing the weight so was I was trying to find this balance. So was this a natural role for you Sydney? Because we’re just doing some research here and it sounds like you’re into the combat stuff. You were an athlete in high school with the combat sports with taekwondo and jiu-jitsu. How fun was this for you to play this role of Christie? Oh, I loved it. I felt like I was going home. I I grew up kickboxing and grappling at like 12 years old and my sensei were Ronda Rousey sensei. So, I worked with Gene Lel, Bannon Legette, Go Coryan, and I I I loved it. I I it’s such a brotherhood to walk into and so being able to be back into that uh dynamic was a treat. Are you a black belt or no? Did you get that far? Oh, I w I wish I wish I literally I I had some competitions. I fought some guys. I beat them and as I was getting like really into it, I booked Euphoria and I wasn’t allowed to fight anymore. So, you were knocking on the door. You were almost there. So, it’s got to be tough. It’s one thing for Sylvester Stallone to get in the ring and throw fake punches, you know, as a non-fighter, but as an actor, but you, even though you’re not a black belt, you’ve got a very high level of experience. So, you ever come close to connecting because you’ve thrown a lot of real ones in your life. So, how do you how do you make sure you don’t hurt anybody? Oh, so this is the crazy thing. We actually did connect in those fights on the movie. I It was one of my first things I I talked to was my fight coordinator, Wall, and all of my my fighting my stunt girls and some of the girls were actual fighters as well. And I was like, “Hit me. I want you to hit me and I want to connect. And like there’s so much of Christy that comes to life in these scenes and her in the ring. I was like, I don’t want to have to be on the back of my head because it’s a stunt double or I don’t want to have to be cutting the scene and be super choppy because you don’t get to see Christiey’s personality shine. You don’t get to see the emotional change that’s happening to her during these fights. So when you see us hitting each other, we’re actually connecting and there’s some bloody noses. I got a concussion. Like it was it was it was full force. You got concussed and s on the fan. We’re talking with Sydney Sweeney ahead of her new movie November 7th that comes out. Christy, based on a true story of Christy Martin, who was a female boxer, a professional female boxer. You had a concussion, Sydney. I did. It was crazy. I mean, that’s pretty rough for You’re an actress. You shouldn’t be getting concussed. How difficult was that to recover and then get back out there and do it again? Yeah. How long were you out? I I mean, it not I didn’t have any time to be out. We’re on a a tight budget and a tight timeline. I I remember I was have my friend Kei. We were like icing me. I had ice baths and it was it was wild. It was the most insane experience. But I loved it. You’re a trooper. You’re all in. So you you were born I don’t know how long or when you left Idaho, but you know now doing what you do and being exposed to what you’re exposed to. You’re in a lot of the big cities obviously domestically and and and all around the world. So how much do you miss the uh the little the little doings of Idaho, if you will? It’s it’s the complete opposite of where you are now, I’m sure. Oh, you guys, I go home more often than not. I don’t even consider LA my home. I I’m back with my family where I grew up. I actually I live in my great grandma’s house. I I bought it back from this couple a few years ago and I was like, I want to be neighbors with my grandma. Um so I’m still up in Idaho. I love it. And I while I was training for this movie, I turned my grandma’s shed into my Rocky Gym. I put a floor ring in. I put some boxing bags and I trained up there with everyone. That is that is absolutely fantastic. All right. So, I have been to 44 of the 50 states and Idaho is one of the ones that I have not been to. What am I missing? I got to get I know it’s gorgeous. Oh, it’s beautiful. I mean, the the lakes and the mountains, you got to I mean, and it’s so hard because you want to go see it during every single time of the year. Like, fall is gorgeous. The trees are changing. Winter, if it’s a good winter with a lot of snow, the skiing is incredible. Like, go up there is where I ski. Uh, and then summertime it’s it’s beautiful. The lakes are nice and warm and refreshing and it’s just great people, great scenery. If you love to hike, you can be outdoors all the time. Like I grew up I was never inside. I was never playing video games or watching TV. I was just outside exploring, building tree houses, playing with my friends. Good for you. A real human being. I love it. Did Did you ever think, Cindy, like you you go from, I’m sure, dreaming about becoming an actress or whatever it is that you want to dream about and being in these movies and all that stuff. You have become one of the more famous, more desirable women in the entire world. That’s a level of fame I’m not sure anybody can comprehend. How do you deal with where your life has taken you now to being at that level? You know, I don’t know. I I hang out with the same people I grew up with, so I don’t think that it hits me often cuz they definitely keep me humble. Uh, but I mean I’m very appreciative of it, but I’ll just go home with my friends and my family. Grounded. That’s what it’s about. See, you sound incredibly grounded. All right. So, listen, Sydney. So, every time I do a horror film, I kind of feel like uh it’s it’s a little present for him. So, I’ll definitely be doing quite a few more in my lifetime. I love it. So, now I have a question for you. So, you’re not even 30 yet. You were 28, I believe. So, the movies that I saw, uh you certainly didn’t see in real time. Go back to that horror genre. Did you, you know, Friday the 13th, Freddy Krueger? You jump into all that stuff? And if so, do you like it? Oh, yeah. My dad, my dad had me watching everything at a very young age. And you might be questionable like why are you having me you watch that? But uh he it’s his Halloween’s his favorite holiday. So he could not not show my little brother and I all these films. He loves it. How old were you when you when you first saw Michael Myers? Hopefully you weren’t like five. Oh gosh. I I probably was like eight. That’s acceptable. You you referenced before Cindy you referenced Rocky. Have you seen all the Rocky movies? I have. You know that um Christy actually went and ran the Rocky Steps the other day? Oh, you mean you or the actual Christy? No, the actual Christy. Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. Yeah. Well, how how old is she at this point? She could run those rocky steps with no issues. The problem is they continue to lose like at some point and like is it going to be year five, year six? like at what point are we exactly going to expect the head coach to start winning some football games here. That’s all that I’m saying. And it’s not just that they’re losing, it’s how they’re losing as well. There’s no excuse for the way they lost the Cowboy game. No excuse for the way they lost the Bronco game. That can’t happen in two games in a fourth year in a season. It’s it’s going to make a huge difference. So, it’s not that they don’t have the quarterback. Ah, Daniel Jones on the offensive line. Yeah, there’s injuries just like every team deals with injuries. Giants should be better. I think they should be better than what their record says they are. I think one thing that could save Dable and even if they don’t win a lot of games and we talked about this and I don’t think that they will but you know the fact that he was the one who really stood up on that table and said this this is the kid that I want. We got to go get him. We have to get him. And there was a little disconnect to what extent I don’t know cuz I’m obviously not in the room there. But I’m not I’m not saying at all that Joe Shane was anti-Jack Dart. I’m not saying that at all. But it was very clear, very apparent that Jackson Dart was the by far a favorite of Dable. So if management split and based on all the losing they should be because it shouldn’t be guaranteed to come back for year five. You know that is going to be a very powerful thing though that that could swing the pendulum back in in Dable’s favor if he plays well the rest of the year which I think that he will even if they don’t win a lot of games. You know I call pretty often. Um, it’s been it’s been it’s been a year. Uh, you know, two and six. I I’ll just get to it, man. Um, I I think, you know, I listen to you guys all the time. I’m a big fan. So, I I kind of stay with the conversation. I stay with the flow. And I think I think both of you are right. And I think you just got to go back to what you said originally. If you bring them back, you can’t just bring them back for this year. And you almost have to look at because look, the reality is we should be we should have two more wins. BT, you make good points. Maybe we don’t win the games that we did win. S, you make good points, but we should have won two more games. And I I agree with all of it. Like, you know, things could always change. The NFL is a week-to-eek basis. Here’s my opinion on it. Here’s what I think. I think one, you need a new defensive coordinator. I think Dable needs to learn how to become a good head coach, good game management. I don’t think you give up on the guy. I think he shows a lot of ability. I think he can be a guy. I’m not pro Dable. I’m not against Dable. I think you got to commit to him to next year. This year with the injur injuries and everything going on. You have to look at it case by case. Obviously, as a fan base, we want more wins. I think you judge them on wins next year. I think right now, if you break up that coach quarterback relationship, you don’t know what’s on the other side of that. when Shurmer had Jones, Daniel Jones, and Daniel Jones put together his best year as a rookie, 24 touchdowns, 3,000 passing yards. You know, now we see Jones and he’s doing well. And, you know, that story is still be being written. He’s playing a lot of bad teams. They’re playing great. Best of luck to him and what he’s doing. Is it sustainable? We don’t know. We always want to give grades, you know, final grades eight weeks into the season. We’ll see how that plays out in Indianapolis, but best of luck to him. But we have Dart. Dart and Dable are obviously connecting that obvious obviously they’re doing a good job. He’s doing a good job with this quarterback and we haven’t had the quarterback. This guy is our guy. He’s going to be franchise pending injury, god forbid, which we’ve had the injury bug. Um you need to keep him. Next year you judge him on wins and losses. But I I believe I’m make my point and it took me a long time and I’ll get off. I believe I believe um you got to keep them number one and number two I question the ownership. And here’s what I’m gonna say. I think Dable could be the guy. And I think what is Mayor, what are all these guys doing for Dable? Because Dable, you got to remember Dable is not a veteran head coach. He’s he’s still learning how to be a coach. I get it. That’s the That’s the thing. You can’t Thank you for the call. You can’t be learning in year four. I actually agree with a lot of what you said and as you know, as a listener of the show, I’ve been saying that that I don’t know if I want to break up this tandem. BT and I talked about if they were going to bring those guys back in the offseason, then it should be beyond just this year. However, I believe they should be better than two and six through the first eight games. So, you’re you’re right that a head coach is learning, but it’s you four like so he’s going to learn more in year five and then you’re going to bring him back next year. What happens if they start out again at two and six? Then what? That’s where I was going. You know, it’s it’s less about a really rough ugly record this year. It’s more about, okay, the quarterback and the head coach, good synergy. We’re going to roll it back one more year and then you look up, you’re one and four or you’re two and five or you’re worse, two- six or three and eight, whatever it might be. Now, they could be the they could be the converse. I mean, they could have a good off season uh and they could win some games. I I don’t even know the schedule for next year. I’ve got I’m going to actually double check during the break just out of curiosity. There’s no way it’s going to be tough like this. This schedule is ridiculous. But then where do you go if it’s a brutal September next year? you’re in a a very unenviable spot where almost all the juice will be sucked out of all the good that that happened from Jackson Dart cuz the fans will be raid the media will be pouncing and that’s counterproductive. As much as I want to believe in Brian Dable because he has a lot of traits that I do like. The evidence against him being a good head coach is piling up. It continues to pile up whether it’s last year, two years ago, Daniel Jones lack of kicker blowing games in week two and week seven against the Broncos, the way they played against the Saints, not going to dart sooner, picking Russell Wilson. Like, there’s a lot of evidence that is piling up against Brian Dable being the guy. And it’s four years. I think by four years you should be able to have enough evidence to determine whether he’s going to make it or not or whether that would be the guy that you want to roll the dice with moving forward generally. But they’ve had such an absence of talent for me. It’s it’s kind of it’s really made it hard to evaluate him fairly. Uh but at some point I mean yeah it’s time to get off the pot. I mean you got to win some games here. The thing that bothers me though is that he’s made the same mistake multiple times. Now we can sit here and talk about secondary is not that good without neighbors. No receivers, no the real receivers, this that offensive line not that good. We know that it’s been a roster that has not been very good. But when you It’s one thing when you have a kicker issue a year ago and you don’t learn from it this year. It’s two games that cost you. It’s another thing when your defensive coordinator for some reason only rushes three and you get you get beaten at the end of the game that you should have won and then a couple of weeks after it you see it unfolding again. You don’t step in and stop it. Like you have to learn from some of these egregious mistakes. That’s the problem. It can happen against the Cowboys. Fine. So, let me caveat by first saying I’m a Colts fan. So, what they’re doing has been very impressive. Uh the stats and everything like that, but one thing that really is I don’t think being highlighted enough is that the Colts punter doesn’t even qualify because he hasn’t average two and a half punts this year. He has 16 total. Is that Is that Is that the few Is that the fewest in the NFL? It’s got to be up there, right? The The Raiders got two people on that list. Um and Rigger Bberto Sanchez isn’t even on there. Yeah. Uh yeah. I mean, that’s really impressive when you think about that. And I think like that that just plays in part of like how efficient this offense has been munching the clock, keeping the other offense off the field and you know giving their giving themselves the opportunity to kind of reassess and take control of the game. But they punctuated a lot of drives there, Mike. And and that’s the point. Now that’s a stat I wasn’t even aware of that and I love stats. I’m certainly not looking at punting stats. That’s for damn sure. Although finally the Jets did find a decent punter. So I do like that cuz he is young and they’ve been looking for one for a while. But now you’ve got to incorporate this. Well, okay. So, they’re doing this and they’re they’re they’re moving the chains and they’re scoring points and the yards are there and blah blah blah. Well, who do they play? Let’s see. They beat the Dolphins. They beat the Tennessee Titans twice. You know, they the schedule’s been a little soft here. They played Las Vegas. They hung 40 on them. Las Vegas is Las Vegas might actually be worse than the Jets. They might be. They’re less competitive than the Jets. I know that. So, they have played a lot of the worst teams in the NFL. Uh, is it going to really change? Well, now you go to Pittsburgh at Kansas City. Houston’s playing better at Seattle, San Francisco. I would like to see, I’m not saying that they won’t be good. I would like to see how these stats hold up as they start getting to the second half of the season with better teams. Yeah. I mean, if they protect the football all year long, they’re going to have the one seed in the AFC. I still don’t trust Daniel Jones, but you I mean, you got to stop. You watch them. They are a machine led by Jonathan Taylor, of course, but I mean, they don’t do anything wrong. The Colts have been dominating the NFL. So, you could look at the schedule, but it’s been pretty much every week they have been a dominant team. I would expect that you maybe tough sledding against Pittsburgh on the road, especially with the Steelers coming off a loss. Like that’s a game I just I can’t feel confident with the Colts in. But I mean, I don’t know how you could doubt them anymore at this particular point. They’re going to have to they’re going to have to start actually losing some games to really doubt the Colts because they’ve been that good. Yeah. Well, think about this. We do the power power up power rankings every Thursday and like I just I couldn’t really throw them on there. I threw them on two weeks ago. Yeah. About this week for the first time. I’m like at some point you got to kind of react to what you’re doing here. It’s not September. It’s almost November here. But even with the season that Daniel Jones is having, right, which is really really good. Um, he’s on pace for 28 touchdowns. I mean, in in a very vertical league with a lot of points scored. So, that doesn’t mean that they aren’t viable. Although, I think if they play Kansas City, they get absolutely ravaged in the playoffs there. Um, but they do run the ball. Their O line is good. They are well 16, dude. Plus, is that what the number is? Is that the best in the NFL? It’s got to be by far. What’s the second best? You got the standings up there. Plus 116. Pats have plus 67. Yeah, that’s a good point differential. Uh, that’s that’s it. Plus 67. There’s a couple other 60s in there, but the Pats are the second. Lions have plus 64. Wow. Broncos plus 56. Chiefs plus 62. Plus 116. 7-1, 5-0 at home. They’ve won four in a row. They don’t turn the ball over. Plus 116. You know, the the numbers are the numbers. They have to fix that. You know I I’ll cosign as a drive of the game. I mean, obviously you could go Bree Hall with a little little flick pass in the back of the end zone to Mason Taylor. Well, it’s a Giants drive of the game. Couldn’t have done couldn’t have done that. You can’t do that then. I don’t know why that was just the drive of the game. My bad. No, then it’s definitely what you said 100%. It really joked though. We did this at the start of the show. If you guys missed anything, ton of energy to start, but you talk about the tush push. I thought Wendell Robinson had a horrendous call. Oh, he got put back in the the block in the back. The neutral zone infraction where Philly obviously was not called. They should have been the Slate and OPI. The refs were real. I mean, you watch enough football, you know, the refs are not that good yesterday. It actually I know they weren’t. It actually looked like they were on the take. That’s how bad it was. Mickey’s in Nutly. What’s up, Mickey? I Hey guys, I think it is hard to say that the Giants would have won if that play was officiated right or any play for that matter throughout the game. But how much longer do you think that the NFL can kind of let it slide? It seemed to me like they were acting like the first down was the goal line in this scenario. Yes. Correct. Correct. And it makes no sense. It’s going to be gone. It’s just Yeah. The competition committee is going to get rid of it this winter. I believe that it’s going to finally be gone. I do. And it should be. We just have to pretend that the ball wasn’t taken from Jaylen Herz’s hand. It’s tough though, you know. It’s tough. It’s tough. You know, it made it made no sense. It It’s not why And thank you for the call, Mickey. It made no sense. It’s not why that they lost the game. We could go over a lot of reasons for that. However, the call shouldn’t have gone that way every single time. It was a horrific call. And I understand Dable being so frustrated. He’s throwing the challenge even when they say you can’t challenge it. I would have stopped playing a game. Like, that’s how livid I would have been in that moment. I’m sure he was like, “I’m playing this under protest. This is ridiculous. We can’t continue this game. You just we just turned the ball over.” Which is it? This play is cheap. You’re cheating. Bad enough. enough a couple of weeks ago, you’re not calling the false starts, which helped them out. Now, you’re not calling the false starts. Fair enough. Now, you’re saying that the play was blown dead. If it were blown dead, he would have been short of the line to gain. And if it’s not blown dead, it’s a fumble. Either way, the Giants should have won on that play and they didn’t. They got screwed. That’s ridiculous. It should never happen. And you’re thinking about this like, okay, Giants in practice, I’m sure amongst the coaches, you know, I don’t know if they necessarily say this to the players, but the coaches knew it will be tougher because the Giants just, you know, just beat Philly, so Phillyy’s going to be pissed off and it’s in Philly, whatever. So, as a coaching staff, you’re sitting there saying, “Guys, we got to get we got to put one on the they got to put one on the carpet early. We h we have to either flip the field or change the game.” Something sudden. And you do it against the most indefensible play in the game and you don’t get rewarded. Uh it’s it’s it’s brutal. It really They missed that terribly. Sunny is in Malver. What’s up, Sunny? Hey guys, couple things. One, I didn’t see the game. I was listening to in the car and uh Carl Banks and Bob Papa were livid. They said on the heels of the NBA that these officials should be investigated. Sony, I heard that. Yes, Sunny. I We’ll let you make your next point. I heard that. I was in the car coming back from my daughter’s soccer game. I heard the same exact thing and then obviously I went back home and I watched it. I thought they were phen they were raw. I mean, they were just they they didn’t hold back. They were really on point. I heard the same thing. Yeah, that’s what I love about Carl Banks. He really gives it to the refs and he gives it to the Giants when they’re playing for um second point at Dable and Dart. Listen, s you can’t change the fact that they got to win more games when we said they’re only probably going to win four or five games in the beginning of the year. Dave, listen, I could take him or leave him, right? I would bring in a guy like Grud and say because he has a relationship with Dart, but you can’t take away that tandem. You got to give him credit for number one drafting Dart when a lot of us weren’t thinking about Dart. I was um number two for developing Dart and number three for being competitive and changing the offense of this team. Now, as far as Dart is concerned, I’m concerned about him. Guys, you can’t hold on though. Hold on. Before Sunny, hold on. Before you Before you go right to dart, I’m confused about something. All those reasons that you said, getting the right quarterback, going to that quarterback, elevating the offense. How come it’s not resulting in wins then? We didn’t say you were going to win eight games. S was my Nobody knew what Jackson Dart was going to be. Now that you saw what he can be, they should be winning more. But the schedule was brutal. said, “Did Shadowoo and Dort give a little magic and some swag to this team?” Why’ they lose? Why’ they lose eight games? They had They had a 19-point lead in Denver in the fourth quarter. The defense collapse. And listen, if they had late, that would have never happened. Number two, he’s like a father figure to this kid. You can’t take away those two. Okay? You give him one more year. Next year is based on Win S. This year was based on the development of the quarterback. And everybody said that. So, you can’t change that. I got a question for you, Sunny. Go ahead. Could you close your eyes and envision Brian Dable hoisting a Lombardi trophy? Uh um he’s got to change. He’s got to he’s got to he’s got to change. So the answer there is is no, right? Yeah. Okay. So I’ll answer it for you. The answer is no. And you know I don’t know I don’t know what else you need to hear. Now, that doesn’t mean that he couldn’t defy what appears to be a logical take by most of us. Cuz my answer to that same question would be, “No, I I can’t envision that. I I I don’t see that.” So, if that’s the case, what are we doing? Keeping him around for what? Things change in season. You can’t just say, “Well, they weren’t supposed to win many games.” Yeah, that was with Russell Wilson as a starter. I would have never thought that Jackson Dart would be starting by now. And also, nobody had any idea how good he was going to be. And then immediately we saw him and the impact that it had to the tune of beating the Chargers, beating the Eagles, still losing to the Cowboys the way that they did, losing to the Saints, losing to the Broncos the way that they did. That’s not evaluating them based on wins and losses. That’s evaluating them saying that they lost two games that they had no business losing the same exact way. All right, I’ll give you week two. It can’t happen again in week seven. That to me is on the coach they’ve done. And on top of the kicking situation that’s been an issue with them for years costing them games. Look at his record. I want to believe in Dable. I’d love to see this through. I don’t believe he knows how to win. The evidence is against them. Show me they’re losing more. They shouldn’t, in my opinion, they should not be two and six. They should be better than that. You could rip Shane for the talent. You could say they’re not supposed to be very good. They should be better than what they are, which is one of the worst records in the NFL with two absolutely horrific losses, not even including the one to the Saints who only have one win on the year and they’re seventh in totally in total salary uh salary cap allocation here. So, to me, that’s a problem because all the resources and listen, Burns has been great and and I know Carter’s doing some things from a non-sack perspective. I get that. and Tibido’s been, you know, he’s been good. Uh, and they got some good defensive players, but most of the big money, and I said this at the start of the show, is is is is wrapped up in guys up front. And yet, they give up basically 300 yards rushing last uh yesterday, and they’re third in the NFL run defense. So, you know, there’s there there’s a lot of things to fix here. There really are. And it doesn’t help there really is. It doesn’t help that Neighbors is not here, and now Scataboo was not here. Now, we did think, and we nailed this, like when Andrew Thomas plays, they just do look so much more functional. remember some of the games when he got hurt? I guess that was the Dallas game a couple years ago. They lost 40 zip there. I mean, there’s been some some absolute trouncings because they couldn’t even do the most basic, you know, the the most basic mechanical aspect of running an offense at least with Thomas. They can do that and it does look much better with Dart, but you either win or you lose. I mean, this is not it’s not literally you win the game or lose the game. And and we could disagree on this you and I or everybody else, doesn’t matter. Daniel Jones to me having the level of success that he’s had so far in Indie, dude, right away. He went from being disaster here in New York for three years or at least the last two years with Brian Dable for different reasons, injuries, poor performance. And I know it’s not just Dable. It’s New York as well and the pressure and all that stuff. But you can’t tell me that Shane Stiken can make Daniel Jones look like that eight weeks into his first year with the Colts and Brian Dable couldn’t do that at all with the Giants because even the success that they had the first year was not this. He threw 15 touchdowns that year and he’s on pace for almost 30 this year. It’s funny I went back and I looked at some of the overunder here like the Browns, the Titans, the Jets, the Giant Saints. They seem to have nailed all those. Vegas was low. Panthers low. Indianapolis was 7 and a half and they’re going to fly by that. We’ve already got seven. I know. All right, that does it for us.
