NHL Highlights | Blues vs. Penguins – October 27, 2025
points in five straight. Lose losers of three straight. One streak will continue as we are underway for this one. Thanks for being with us here on Sportset Pittsburgh. Take a look at the Toyota Tacoma lines at the top of your screen. And of course, if you are just joining us, you missed the news yesterday. Ricard Raquel is out with a broken left hand. surgery. Six to eight weeks the timetable for the Penguins winger that had a career year last year and had a fivegame point streak snapped in that shootout loss to Columbus. I’m getting a look at Hallander right now on this top line. Keeps a puck in at the blue line. Here’s Russ moving in. Shoots. He scores. [Music] Well, the line clicks 39 seconds in and Brian Rust has goals in back-to- back games. It’s one- nothing. Well, he just needed one. He just needed one to get going. And this line does some good work once at the other side of the ice in front of the Blues bench keeping a puck in was Hallander and this time at the other side coming over in support to keep that puck alive with Eric Carlson. And Carlson does the rest. Pulls guys around the ice. finds Russ right back to where it all started and he walks in short side high. Talked about the Blues goalending. First shot, first goal for the Penguins here tonight. And here they come again. Malin racing on in. Holds it. Setters. They score. Two goals in 55 seconds. Anthony Mantha and the Penguins have come out ablazing here against St. Louis. line. Anthony Mantha and Gino just picked this puck up in trans transition out of their zone and Kenny Malcolm with all kinds of patience. Little fake shot drag. It looked like he might have went wanted to go around the net. Well, Hoffer was there about to adjust. He knew he was way out of position coming into tonight. Has another one. Does Anthony Manta that top line continues to produce? We’ll have to get to the bottom of it with Haley. Did he wear the shoes again? Gets it back though. Brazo in a sea of blues able to push it towards his own line. Joseph the steel sends in Kyu drag shoots. Jar stops him and hangs on. Harrison Brunick back in Damuse’s lineup tonight after a scratch each of the last two games. All part of the development plan. But a look on here as Nathan Walker comes in, centers in front. They score and at top the crease it’s Nick Bugstad getting one back for St. Louis. A puck bouncing around and they’re able to come up with speed and it’s Walker down the wing and he just finds this puck. Buchad going to the net. I’m not sure if he got all of it. We’ll be able to see right here. Looked like he kind of chunked it off the heel of his stick and maybe like an offspe shot. You’re reading the blade and it comes off that heel weird like that. There’s Waters Spoon up the wall, taken away by Sydney Crosby. Across for Eric Carlson. Another assist for him tonight. Drops it for Crosby. Moves in, shoots, and a save by Hoer. It just reading pressure when the pressure and out man him in certain situations that make it difficult on setup. Here’s a shot in tight from Sudter off the post. We had two St. Louis Blues hit the post. Smacked ahead by Latang. Fowler they keep and the Blues humming a little bit now. Texier right in shoots that hits the post and out to center it goes on that attempt on the power play and then Texier. Snuger right back in. Sends it across. Shen missed the cage. Matang tries to clear. He will. Novak’s out of the box. He may have a breakaway. Novak’s got it off the post in the elbow of the post where it meets the crossbar. And then Novak out of the box. It’s the same thing. Walkers like they’re nolari. Kindle along the line for Carlson. And a boos get a steal. And look out here. And they have a chance. Shen racing in. Puts it in front. They score. Kyu ties the game. Carlson is not happy. And I thought Columbus was really good at this last game against the Penguins. Pushing up into those areas. The Penguins want to be a little more patient with the puck in those situations and try to make plays. You get a better look maybe if that was offside. Carlson, I thinking he touched it. Nonetheless, it comes up ice right away. That’s a quick strike. Shen Kyu Rober and lifted his stick. B outlet. Look out. Here comes Texier with a step. He’ll fire Jarry the save and it comes behind him. He’s looking around. Where is it? overs letting him get off to the races. You’re right. There’s Texier with the it’s open behind you pretending scooping in there like it was there. And you see he has it until Texier does the fake I got it move. Moment after the press conference to speak with Dan Muse and we look over Max Dalv just walked right on over. He’s right in there. Got to meet the coach. Yep. And Carlson Crosby late call here on St. Lewis. Good possession by the Penguins. Wtherstone for Carlson. Over to Crosby. Back over. Wther spoon. Shoots. He scores. Parker Wtherspoon with his first in Pittsburgh. Block and goal. And the Penguins take the lead back. And this penalty call to get Jarry off the ice. And maybe the one guy of everyone out there is Parker Weatherspoon where you’re like, he’s not a power play guy. He’s kind of a shutdown guy. He looked like it right there. Walking in and Walker out to center. Latang gloves it down. Takes a hit there from Buchad. Taken away by St. Louis. Walker pushes it to Torchenko. Shoots. Glove save. Jarry off to the races with Torupchenko. Tristan Jarry coming off a coach Hughes to send him home happy tonight. Nice move there. Back to double. Wrist shots tipped by Brazo. Hopford kept that out. Brazo. Another crack that hit the pad of Hoer there. Oh, that that’s no caption needed right there. That should that should be all over everyone. That should be like a meme. Rust back over to Wther Spoon. Takes a look. Shoots. Hit Hollander. Friendly fire there. Comes down low to Crosby up top. One-time Carlson. Redirection. Score. The goal to rust, but for Sydney Crosby, it’s 1,700 points. The captain climbs to rarified air. Career points and another multi-point game now with that his second assist here tonight. And what a shot pass from the point from Carlson. Will feed it over towards Holloway. Steps out with it into the slot. Bavic back up top. Ball. Quick passing and a save by Jarry. Gets a pad on it. Penguins clear. Crosby fresh off becoming the ninth player in NHL history to700 points. Grunick knocked off the puck. Twoon one the other way for St. Louis. Quivven’s getting back. It’s Joseph in. Shoots. He scores. And Matthew Joseph gets his first goal of the year. And it’s 4-3. They’ve gotten quite a few chances earlier this game and now here in the third period. It opens up again. Joseph has got wheels. He can fly in this one. Just walks in and twoon-one situation. Puts it in the slot. There’s Faulk. Bhander and a save made by Jarry deep in his crease. Taken away though by the Blues. Bavic holding shooting stick save. Jari keeps the Pens in front. Shot through Brian Rust. Here it comes to Pereo. Lost the handle. Rust punches it ahead. Crosby is gone. Save for rebound. Score. Sir Cindy lights the lamp and the Penguins build a 53 lead with 321 to go. It’s Sid Knight. What a decision. and they were kind of hemmed in. Had to block all kinds of shots. Got a few saves from Jarry. And then this puck from Rust. He didn’t even handle it. Nothing. Just one shot right up to Crosby. Elected for the quick shot. Kind of trying to beat him quick, but he stayed right on it. gathered that rebound, pounced on it, and drilled it past Her number 87. So Sydney Crosby adds to his team lead with the seventh goal. The net’s empty. Malin scores and Kenny Malin adds one for Pittsburgh and they’re pulling away late. It’s 63. 301 on the clock as Malcolin with a little help from Brazil. I talk about their length and their reach this line. Brazo just pestering a St. Louis Blues that they have silenced a lot of prognosticators in the process. 6-3 the final score. The Penguins move to 72 and one with a two-point party on Fifth Avenue. [Music]
Sidney Crosby notched career point No. 1,700 to become just the ninth player in NHL history to reach that milestone as the Pittsburgh Penguins defeated the St. Louis Blues 6-3.

LETS GO PENS. Geno #1 point leader in the league like 2009. Sid had a 3 point night and got 1700 career points. And we are having our best start since 2016 We are finally playing real team hockey again 😎🎉.
Penguins fans are excited they beat the Blues by a score of 6to 3 the blues are given up five goals a game big deal
Look at the breakaway synergy by Crosby and Rust, also the Malkin assist to Mantha. those plays just come out naturally.
What was Snuggerud doing? 🤣
Penguin 🐧🐧 power party on 5th avenue
"While Crosby and Ovechkin still shine, Evgeni Malkin is quietly fading away"
Article from the "brilliant" Josh Yohe (March 31, 2025). The ultimate clown of sports journalists. Yeah, fading away into leading the NHL in points. What a complete buffoon.
Go pens
That 2nd Pens goal was all on Hofer. He overplayed the puck handler, leaving
the net wide open. The two Penguins also had their eyes wide open, and the
easy pass led to a very easy goal. The net minder needs to let the defenseman
worry about the man with the puck. Hofer learned something from this game,
and I would bet a few coaches had a little talk with him about what to do next
time that happens. Maybe the defender in front of the net needed to knock
that Penguin player out, thus taking a penalty, and deal with the power play.
But, it cost the Blues a goal.
As a neutral, i'm thrilled for The Pens and Sid.
At least this game can help me cope with the phoenix buns game today
Not enough comments about Erik Karlsson 💯
Hofer is horrendous. His numbers are rancid.
Sidney Crosby is still the best player in the world
Crosby…class act !
Lotta empty seats
LFG PENS!!! Great hockey boys! Keep it up black n gold!
PENGUWIIIINS🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Good bye, Gavin McKenna
4:15 What's the deal with Karlsson? Why was he mad at the linesman? He's L2. His partner has the line on the other side.
"Penguins points in last 5 games, Blues lost 3 straight, only 1 streak will continue" bro commentating gotta lock in.
I love Crosby ❤❤❤
