NHL Highlights | Blues vs. Penguins | October 27, 2025
Penguins points in five straight, lose losers
at three straight. One streak will continue as we are underway for this one. Thanks for
being with us here on Sportsnet Pittsburgh. Take a look at the Toyota Tacoma lines
at the top of your screen. And of course, if you are just joining us, you missed the news
yesterday. Ricard Raquel is out with a broken left hand. Surgery 6 to 8 weeks the timetable for the
Penguins winger that had a career year last year. and had a fivegame point streak
snapped in that shootout loss to Columbus. Getting a look at Hallander
right now on this top line. Keeps a puck in at the blue line. Here’s
Russ moving in. Shoots. He scores. Well, the line clicks 39 seconds in and Brian
Rust has goals in backto back games. It’s one- nothing. Well, he just needed one. He just
needed one to get going. And this line does some good work. Once at the other side of the ice
in front of the Blues bench, keeping a puck in was Hallander. And this time at the other side coming
over in support to keep that puck alive with Eric Carlson. And Carlson does the rest. Pulls guys
around the ice. Finds Russ right back to where it all started. And he walks in short side high.
First first shot, first goal for the Penguins here tonight. And here they come again. Halan racing on
in. Holds it. setters. They score. Two goals in 55 seconds. Anthony Mantha and the Penguins have come
out ablazing here again. Anthony Mantha and Gino just picked this puck up in trans transition out
of their zone. And Kenny Malcolm with all kinds of patience. Little fake shot drag. It looked like he
might have went wanted to go around the net. Well, Hoffer was there about to adjust. He knew he was
way out of position. Three goals in his last four games coming into tonight. Has another one does
Anthony Mana. That top line continues to produce. Gets it back though. Brazo and a sea of blues
able to push it towards his own line. Joseph the steel sends in Kyu drag shoots. Jar stops him
and hangs on. Harrison Brunick back in Damuse’s lineup tonight after a scratch each of the last
two games. All part of the development plan, but a look on here as Nathan Walker comes in, centers
in front. They score and at top the crease, it’s Nick Bugstad getting one back for St. Louis.
A puck bouncing around and they’re able to come up with speed and it’s Walker down the wing and he
just finds this puck with Buchad going to the net. I’m not sure if he got all of it. We’ll be able to
see right here. Looked like he kind of chunked it off the heel of his stick and maybe like an offspe
shot. You’re reading the blade and it comes off that heel weird like that. There’s Wallers Spoon
up the wall. Taken away by Sydney Crosby. Across for Eric Carlson. Another assist for him tonight.
Drops it for Crosby. Moves in, shoots, and a save by Hoer. Brian Rustin. Anthony Mantha. And St.
Louis got one back moments ago on a centering pass knocked in by Nick Bstat. It’s poker just
reading pressure. Wind of pressure and out man him in certain situations that make it difficult
on setup. Here’s a shot in tight from Sudter off the post. Smacked ahead by Latang Fowler the keep
and the Blues humming a little bit now. Texier right in shoots that hits the post and out to
center it goes. Sudter and Malin going to the end wall. Loose puck at top the grease. It’s Mantha
back to Dumba. Shoots and a save made by Hoer. Dumba’s got it again. Nice pass cross ice
to Brunick. He’ll fire off the glove of Oer and the Blues able to clear that rebound
to center. Walkers like their Nolachari. Kindle along the line for Carlson. And a Blues
get a steal. And look out here. And they have a chance. Sh racing in. Puts it in front. They
score. Kyu ties the game. Carlson is not happy. And I thought Columbus was really good
at this last game against the Penguins, pushing up into those areas. The Penguins want to
be a little more patient with the puck in those situations and try to make plays. You can get a
better look maybe if that was offside. Carlson, I think, thinking he touched it. Nonetheless, it
comes up ice right away. That’s a quick strike. Shen Nairober and lifted his stick. B outlet.
Look out. Here comes Texier with a step. He’ll fire. Jarry the save and it comes behind him.
He’s looking around. Where is it? Letting him get off to the races. You’re right. There’s
Texier with the It’s open behind you. Kind of help the other team out a little bit with that
style of game. Do the Penguins. The tank shot. Change direction. Shoulder save Hoer. I don’t
know if he saw it, but he stopped it. I think Howlander tipped it out front. High rust on goal.
Save Hoer after fanning on the initial attempt. There’s your hit of the game. We had to get out
of the way already. Edgar Snider Associates hit tracker down low. Jarry a couple huge stops.
First on Paro, then Holloway. Another chance. Kyro missed the net. It was blocked. Play
call here on St. Louis. Good possession by the Penguins. Wther spoon for Carlson. Over to
Crosby. Back over. Wther spoon shoots. He scores. Parker Wtherspoon with his
first in Pittsburgh block and goal and the Penguins take the lead back. And this penalty call to get Jarry off the ice.
And maybe the one guy of everyone out there is Parker Weatherspoon where you’re like, he’s not
a power play guy. He’s kind of a shut down guy. They looked like it right there. Walking in
and he’ll look to shoot is wide. Crosby down low. Hollander. The stuff comes back to Crosby
up top for Wtherspoon. Walker out to center. Latang gloves it down. Takes a hit there from
Bugstat. Taken away by St. Louis. Walker pushes it to Torchenko. Shoots. Glove save. Jarry
off to the races with Torchenko. Tristan Jarry coming off. Send him home happy tonight.
That’s a nice move there. Back to double. Wrist shot tipped by Brazo. Herford kept that
out. Brazo. Another crack. That hit the pad of Herford. Just rust back over to Wther
Spoon. Takes a look. Shoots. Hit Hollander. Friendly fire there. Comes down low to Crosby
up top. One-time calls. Redirection. Score. The goal to rust. But for Sydney Crosby,
it’s 1,700 points. The captain climbs to rarified air. And another multi-point game. Now
with that, his second assist here tonight. And what a shot pass from the point from Carlson.
Feed it over towards Holloway. Steps out with it into the slot. Bavic back up top. Ball. Quick
passing and a save by Jarry. Gets a pat on it. Penguins clear off becoming the ninth player in
NHL history to700 points. Brunick knocked off the puck. Twoon oneonone the other way for St.
Louis. Quivven’s getting back. It’s Joseph in. Shoots. He scores and Matthew Joseph gets his
first goal of the year and it’s 4-3. They’ve gotten quite a few chances earlier this game and
now here in the third period it opens up again. Joseph has got wheels. He can fly in this one.
Just walks in and twoon-one situation. Puts it in the slot. There’s Faulk. Backhander and a
save made by Jarry deep in his crease. Taken away though by the Blues. Bavic holding shooting
stick save. Jarry keeps the pens in front. Shot through Brian Rust. Here it comes to Pereo. Lost
the handle. Russ punches it ahead. Crosby is gone. Safe hold for rebound. Score. Sir Cindy lights
the lamp and the Penguins build a 53 lead with 321 to go. It’s Sid Knight. What a decision. They
were kind of hemmed in. Had to block all kinds of shots. Got a few saves from Jarry. And then this
puck from Rust. He didn’t even handle it. Nothing. Just one shot right up to Crosby. Elected for
the quick shot. Kind of trying to beat him quick, but he stayed right on it. Gathered that rebound,
pounced on it, drilled it past Her number 87, Sydney Crosby. So Cydney Crosby adds to his
team lead with his seventh goal. The net’s empty. Valkin scores and Kenny Malin adds one
for Pittsburgh and they’re pulling away late. It’s 6-3. 301 on the clock as Malcolin with
a little help from Brazil. I talk about their length and their reach this line. Brazil just
pestering a St. Louis Blues, but they have played 10 games and it is fair to say that they have
silenced a lot of prognosticators in the process.

Hell yes LG Pens!!!
Sid the Kid is a Goat now.
LFG PENS!!! 🐧
Big ups to Sid. Dude's one of the greatest to lace on a pair of skates and he showcased that he's still one of the best in the world tonight.
I’m seeing a deep playoff run
Let’s go Pens!
i saw the blues jersey wore by a the rap music rapper nelly from his music video when i was a kid actually my brother watching it not me i watch some of it and i watch the penguins jersey wore by a wrestling fan from wwe ( wwf ) raw when i was 10 but i forgot to watch them and now as adult i watch them
Maybe instead of Sid to the Avs it should be Nate to the Pens.
Are you freakin kidding me with the primary on that first goal. Unreal.
7-2-1 first 10 games…not even the most cockeyed fairweather Pens fan thought we'd have this kind of October…lets keep it rolling
Es que lo portero siempre que le meten un gol tienen que beber agua
You saw some growing pains tonight with Kindel and Brunicke on those first 2 Blues goals with turn overs and being out of position but you still can’t send these guys back down
Blues don't even deserve participation trophy's at this juncture.
We're still looking for our Sullivan. I hope we get him soon. 😏
I LOVE PITTSBURGH!
Hahaha blues got humiliated, glad Crosby didn't get that first shot then made it in after, made it even better
As a life long Capitals fan… I will still always give sid props. Man truly is a goat
